Abstract: Background: Preeclampsia is one of the major reasons for maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity globally, particularly in developing countries. As there is no effective treatment, identification of women who are at risk of developing preeclampsia would be of great value. Persistence of high impedance to blood flow was found in uterine arteries of women with preeclampsia, which is another indirect evidence of abnormal placentation. It is therefore logical to focus on uterine artery Doppler as the screening test for women at risk of developing preeclampsia.....

Abstract: Small bowel obstruction caused by cryptorchidism is extremely rare, especially in adults. Despite being reported, bowel obstructions in cases of cryptorchidism typically occur as a side effect of malignant transformation. This is a case of a 33 year old man, who presented with abdominal symptoms, and upon further examination revealed bilateral undescended testes in the abdomen. The obstruction of the small bowel loops in this case was due to congenital bands near the left testes, which on histopathological examination revealed seminoma changes.

Abstract: Dysplasia and carcinoma in situ are rare lesions affecting adults of all races. From the age of 20, they represent approximately 10% of conjunctival lesions [1]. They are more common from the age of 55-60. Exposure to ultraviolet rays is the main risk factor [2]. We report through this observation the specificities of management of a rare conjunctival tumor that is squamous cell carcinoma in situ and which, when respected, leads to long-term remission......

Abstract: Background:- Early implant placement after 4-8 weeks following extraction has become a widely acceptable treatment option to decrease treatment time and enhance esthetics. The objectives of this study were to assess and compare the success and survival rates of early implant treatment. Method:- Data of early implants placement were collected with demographic details and characteristics. Survival and success rate as well as other factors like bone loss and pocket depth were recorded. Results:- Total eight patients were selected to place implant from OPD. The success rate for early implant placement was 87.5% & survival rate was 100%. Conclusion:- The results of this study suggest that the success and survival rates of early placed implants were remarkable.

Abstract: India has set the target to eliminate TB by 2025 but much remains to be done to eradicate this ancient disease. TB has become a social disease and it has wrapped its arms more tightly around the weaker sections of the society. Though the country has become the fifth largest economy in the world, majority of the population are poor and have low levels of education, poor access to health facilities and suffer from poor nutrition. Early diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis is of utmost importance but this can only be achieved by also bringing about social development..........

Abstract: Objective: This research is to prove that there is a significant relationship between the patient's absence from participating in activities at school/campus and the symptoms of primary dysmenorrhoea experienced during menstruation. Endometriosis is characterized by pain in the lower abdomen during menstruation. Apart from that, this research is also to obtain patient profiles and factors that influence primary dysmenorrhea. Logistic regression models were used to assess the main factors of dysmenorrhoea in these patients. Method: Research was.........

Abstract: Introduction osteoarthritis presents significant challenges to individuals, particularly in countries like nigeria, where it is a prevalent orthopaedic condition. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between abo blood groups and the severity of osteoarthritis, focusing on knee pain patients at a tertiary orthopaedic centre in awka, nigeria. Methodology the study encompassed 135 patients who underwent clinical examinations, knee x-rays, blood grouping, and histological analysis of removed knee surface cartilage. While certain blood groups have been linked to various health risks, including cardiovascular diseases and cancer, this study sought to uncover any association with osteoarthritis severity.....

Abstract: Background: Induction of labour for term premature rupture of fetal membranes (PROM) is associated with greater maternal satisfaction and lower risk of maternal infection compared with expectant management. The ideal method of induction of labour for term PROM is a subject of controversy. Intravenous oxytocin titration has a prime position as a choice agent for induction of labour following term PROM as it has been shown to be efficacious for such purpose. Recent evidence has shown that misoprostol is associated with better outcomes and merits evaluation in our environment......

Abstract: Digestive system is crucial for our survival and plays a significant role in the normal functioning of other body systems. It breaks nutrients of food into absorbable form which is used by our body cells and eliminates the waste. It includes the gastrointestinal tract and accessory digestive glands. Numerous scholars have made significant contributions to the anatomy of the digestive system. However, the major breakthrough in this field was made by Galen, a great Roman physician and anatomist. He was the first physician who reported the sensitivity of teeth....

Abstract: Gingival overgrowth is well documented side effect associated with three major classes of drugs like, anticonvulsants, calcium channel blockers, and immunosuppressants. Despite our greater understanding of pathogenesis of Drug induced Gingival Overgrowth (DIGO), its treatment still remains a challenge for the periodontists and treatment is still largely limited to maintenance of improved level of oral hygiene and surgical removal of overgrown.....

Abstract: Oral health being a major aspect of an individual general health is also state of being free from any form of disorder. Unfortunately, young adults in developing countries are known to suffer disproportionately from the burden of oral conditions, trauma and diseases. But having adequate knowledge and good practice of oral health are essential for a healthy oral health status. Thereby eliminating their high rate for dental caries, periodontitis and edentulousness. However, some students of tertiary institutions in Enugu state were found to have oral health challenges like halitosis, tooth decolourization, dental caries and bleeding gum among Enugu youths during state youth rally in Enugu in October/November 2020. Hence the motivation of this study to ascertain the level of oral health knowledge and practice among Federal University students in Enugu state. The study employed descriptive survey design and.....
