Title | : | A Case Study of Closed Reduction And Internal Fixation Of Extra-Articular DistalTibial Metaphyseal Fracture with Intramedullary Interlocking Nail |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr.Ghaniuzzoha Asadi || Dr.Abhijit More || Dr.Ramakant Bhivsan || Dr.Nikhil Lakade || Dr.Ketan Kodare |
Abstract: Distal tibia-fibula is one of the most commonly fractured long bone of the body .The management of distal tibial fractures is complicated because of compromised soft tissue, precarious blood supply, higher risk of infection &delayed union or nonunion. Distal tibia fractures can be managed withopen reduction and internal fixation with plating or closed reduction and minimally invasive percutaneous plating orclosed reduction and intramedullary interlocking nailing .Open reduction and internal fixation with plating is a popular method but usually requires a relatively extensive soft-tissue dissection and hence often associated with delayed healing, infection, and hardware problems

Title | : | Gunshot Injury-Maxillofacial Intervention |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Rajesh Kshirsagar || Dr. Vikram Singh || Dr. Husain Mograwala || Dr. Vishal Tapadiya |
Abstract: Gunshot injuries are a relatively rare surgical intervention for Maxillofacial Surgeons. At present the numbers of cases in the Indian subcontinent are few and rarely reported. The protocol and choice of treatment are less than uniform, often relying on the surgeon's personal experience and beliefs. Nonetheless, maxillofacial surgeons must keep abreast of the ever expanding scope of their branch and constantly strive to provide the best treatment for their patients. We present a case of gunshot injury involving the lip, mandible, floor of mouth and submandibular salivary gland.

Abstract: Journey through birth canal is the first but probably the most hazardous journey an individual undertaken. Umbilical artery reflects most accurately fetal blood and tissue acid base status (1). It has since become widely accepted that umbilical cord blood gas analysis can provide important information about the past, present and possibly the future condition of the infant. Identification and prevention of fetal academia is, therefore, the aim of intra partum fetal monitoring, the cord arterial blood pH is considered a crucial outcome measure (2).........

Authors | : | Kumar Prateek || Meena Rinoo Banwarilal || Meenakshi Garg || Shyam Sundar Chaudhary |
Abstract: Nevus sebaceous also known as Nevus sebaceous of Jadassohn [NS] is an epidermal nevi predominantly congenital sebaceous hamartoma. It is composed of sebaceous glands and commonly presents as single yellowish plaque over the head and neck. The morphology of the lesion changes around puberty when it becomes thickened and nodular. Sebaceous nevus has definite potential for malignant transformation in later life therefore prophylactic surgical excision is recommended in childhood. We report this case in a twelve year old boy with a plaque over the posterior surface of the right ear and had multiple soft digitate projections growing over it since last one year.

Abstract: Aneurysmal bone cyst is an uncommon non- neoplastic osteolytic bone lesion that was first described by Jaffe-Lichtenstein in 1942, whichless frequently occurs in maxilla. Various theories support the origin and differentiate it as primary and secondary lesion. We represent a case of 11 year old girl with a bony hard swelling on left maxilla with a multilocular radiolucent andhighly vascularized lesion with thin internal septation present. Treatment includes conservative surgical excision of mass.Histopathological finding supported the diagnosis of aneurysmal bone cyst as a secondary lesion in association with ossifying fibroma.

Abstract: Background: inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has been considered a hyperinflammatory state due to disturbed interactions between the immune system and the commensal bacterial flora of the gut and suggesting IBD asa primary immunodeficiencies (PID). Therefore a registry launched about IBD, suspected to PID (IBDSPID) for the first time in Iran to raise awareness about this disease, to identify its risk factors, to early diagnosis and treatment. Materials and Methods: Among of 365 patients, 39 have inclusion criteria that were as below:(1) IBD diagnosis before age 5 years (2) Resistance to conventional therapy of IBD (3) Severe IBD (4) Signs of SPID (Recurrent sinus or ear infections or pneumonias within a 1 year period; failure to thrive; poor response to prolonged use of antibiotics; persistent thrush or skin abscesses; or a family history of PID).The achieved data of patients was computerized using the MySQL Database........
