Title | : | Influenceof Opaque with Dentine Layer Thickness to Color Matching on Metal-Ceramic Crown |
Country | : | Indonesia |
Authors | : | Sopan Sinamo || Haslinda Z Tamin || Harry Agusnar |
Abstract: Background/Purpose: Color matching on metal-ceramic crown towards the natural teeth is a key for aesthetics success in prosthodontics. Dark shadow which was reflected by the metal coping often happened on the metalceramic crown and it causing the color that is resulted in laboratory process didn't match with the shade guide which has been determined in the clinic, so aesthetically is less satisfying. The porcelain layer thickness is one of factors that takes a role to produce the color matching. The aim of this in vitro study was to know the effect of opaque layer thickness with dentine layer thickness to the shade guide color matching on metal-ceramic crown..............
Keywords: The opaque layer thickness, dentine layer thickness, color matching,shade guide, metal-ceramic crown.

Title | : | Open Coil Spring Activation Simplified |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr.Amit Bhattacharya || Dr.Harshik Parekh || Dr.Rahul Trivedi || Dr.Ankit kumar B. Patel || Dr.Vipul Kumar Prajapati |
Abstract: The use of Niti open coil springs to open spaces between the teeth is quite frequent in orthodontics. However, when the coil spring becomes passive after the tooth has moved, it necessitates the removal of arch wire and placement of a new larger Niti open coil spring to activate further tooth movement. Another way of activating the coil spring with the help of composite bead was suggested1. However, we believe that it unnecessarily increases the inventory and chair-side time. We have devised a simple effective way of reactivating the coil spring with the use of Anterior band material (0.125 x 0.003 inches) and instruments which are readily available in the clinic.

Title | : | Impacted Mandibular Third Molar Uprighting- A Case Report |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr.Amit Bhattacharya || Dr.Harshik Parekh || Dr.Rahul Trivedi || Dr.Ankit kumar B. Patel || Dr.vipul kumar Prajapati |
Abstract: Impaction of the mandibular 3rd molar is one of the most commonly seen dental aberration. A severe mesioangular impacted mandibular third molar is usually extracted to avoid potential damage to distal root of the second molar or food impaction leading to caries in second and third molar. In cases with early loss of permanent mandibular 1st molar there is usually a mesial tipping of the adjacent 2nd molar and loss of space for an ideal prosthesis.In such cases if a mesioangular impacted third molar is present then an ideal treatment would be the orthodontic uprighting of the impacted third molar and closure of the first molar space by mesialising the second and the uprighted third molar. One of the effective appliances for molaruprighting is the tip-back cantilever technique. This article presents uprighting of severely mesioangular impacted 3rd molar using modified Begg's uprighting spring.

Abstract: Regenerative endodontics is the creation and delivery of tissues to replace diseased, missing, and traumatized pulp. Current regenerative procedures successfully produce root development but still fail to reestablish real pulp tissue and give unpredictable results. There are several drawbacks that need to be addressed to improve the quality and efficiency of the treatment. This review provides an overview of regenerative endodontics and its goals, and describes possible techniques that will allow regenerative endodontics to become a reality.

Abstract: Taurodontism is characterized by teeth with enlarged and elongated pulp chambers and apical displacement of the bifurcation or trifurcation of roots. This anomaly occurs either as an isolated, singular trait or in association with syndromes and with some ectodermal anomalies. The aim of this review is to address the etiology, radiographic features and clinical considerations in the treatment of such teeth. It can be seen that taurodontism has until now received insufficient attention from clinicians.

Abstract: Cerebral contusions are one of the most common form of traumatic brain injury. This most commonly occur in areas where sudden deceleration of the head causes the brain to impact on bony prominences like frontal, temporal and occipital poles in coup or contrecoup fashion. It need surgical treatment if there is progressive neurological deterioration, contusion volume is more than 50 cm3 or Glasgow Coma Score is 6-8 with frontal or temporal contusion volume is more than 20cm3 with midline shift is more than 5mm. Hemorrhagic progression of contusions is due to continued bleeding of micro vessels fractured at the time of primary injury.2 When head trauma results in a cerebral contusion, the hemorrhagic lesion often progresses during the first several hours after impact, either

Authors | : | Dr. Yogeesha B.S || Dr. Venkatesha B.K || Dr. Shruthi. M.S. |
Abstract: Background: Chronic otitis media- mucosal type is a chronic inflammation of middle ear and mastoid cavity presenting with recurrent ear discharge through a tympanic perforation. In a discharging ear both topical and systemic therapy is employed to control the infection. Inadequate antibiotic treatment, misuse of antibiotic, improper choice of antibiotic and poor compliance of the patients have resulted in changes in susceptibility to antibiotics of the causative organisms and also development of resistance to commonly used antibiotics. Aim: To identify bacteriological profile in chronically discharging ears and to analyse the antibiotic sensitivity pattern............

Title | : | Pheochromocytoma: An Imaging Kaleidoscope |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Priyanka Jain || Dr. Sahil Singla || Dr. Poonam Tanwar || Dr. Rohtas Yadav |
Abstract: Pheochromocytomas are rare catecholamine secreting tumors of adrenal gland with 10% of cases found in children. They have a varied clinico-imaging spectrum of appearances and they may mimic other adrenal lesions, both benign and malignant. On Computed tomography, they may also demonstrate rapid contrast material washout and be mistaken for an adenoma owing to their deenhancement profile; however, their washout pattern can be inconsistent. Other atypical features include fatty, hemorrhagic, cystic, and calcific changes. Their early diagnosis is imperative due to poor clinical outcome and surgical complications.

Title | : | Polyamides As A Denture Base Material – A Review |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Rajul Vivek |
Abstract: The dentists today have to meet growing demands for prosthetic rehabilitation due to population aging and higher requirements on the quality of life. That means higher demands on the functional reliability of dental appliances, their aesthetical and biological properties. Several studies have evaluated various properties of polyamide (nylon) denture base materials. According to the results of the studies, currently, thermo-injectable, high impact, flexible or semi-flexible polyamide is thought to be an alternative to the conventional acrylic resins due to its esthetic and functional characteristics..........
