Title | : | An Unusual Case of Aggressive Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Upper Alveolus with Metastasis to Bones and Skin – ReportOf a Case |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Aditi Venkatesh || Chennagiri S Premalata || Nanjundappa D || Uday Kumar MaiyaM |
Abstract: Oral Squamous cell carcinoma, though a common neoplasm, is infrequently associated with distant metastasis. Increasing numbers are being reported with improved locoregional control at the primary site. In this article, we report a case of aggressive squamous cell carcinoma of the upper alveolus which presented with distant metastasis to the hip bone and multiple cutaneous metastases in the scalp after wide excision of the primary.

Authors | : | Dr. Akhil Jain || Dr. Sameer Makkar || Dr. Tamanpreet Kaur || Dr. Sunpreet Kaur |
Abstract: Human characteristics of curiosity, wonder, and ingenuity are as old as mankind. People around the world have been harnessing their curiosity into the process of scientific methodology. Recently nanotechnology has emerged as a new science exploiting specific phenomena and direct manipulation of materials on nanoscale. Application of nanotechnology in dentistry holds promise for the maintenance of comprehensive dental care by employing nanomaterials including tissue engineering and ultimately nanorobots. This paper highlights the role of nanotechnology in dentistry and its future implications.

Title | : | Peripheral Ossifying Fibroma with Extensive Fibrous Hyperplasia and Mature Bone Formation: A Case Report. |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Deepika PSL1 || Jayasheela M || Mehta DS || Ahmed Mujib |
Abstract: Gingival overgrowths, either localised or generalised are one of the commonly found lesions of the oral cavity. Solitary gingival overgrowths such as irritational fibroma and peripheral ossifying fibroma are considered to be reactive rather than neoplastic lesions. Most of these lesions might present with similar clinical features. Hence, differentiation and final diagnosis of these lesions with clinical presentation alone might be difficult if not impossible. Histo-pathological analysis might give us a final picture leading to the final
diagnosis.........

Abstract: Introduction.This is a subgroup of critically ill patients with open abdomen with or without a stoma who survived intensive care unit (ICU). In common, they had multiple relook laparotomies that resulted in an open abdomen. A temporary vicryl mesh was used to bridge the defect which was subsequently covered with a split skin graft. Months later, myofascial release was used to repair the hernia. Objective.To evaluate the use of myofascial releasein the management of large incisional hernia on ICU survivors.........

Abstract: One of the important postoperative complications following tooth extraction is Alveolar Osteitis (AO). Various risk factors contribute to its development and understanding these risk factors enables the clinicians to reduce the risk of AO or predict its development in certain patients. The aim of the present study was to review various risk factors contribute to the incidence rate of AO following tooth extraction.

Abstract: Aim: to compare the efficacy of 17% EDTA & 15% EDTAC in smear layer removal in coronal, middle & apical level of root canal in vitro. Method: For study, 50 single rooted mandibular premolars were taken. After access cavity preparation and working length determination, all teeth were prepared upto F3 with proTaper universal system. Final irrigation done in group I(n=20) with EDTAC , group II(n=20) with EDTA and group III(n=10) as a control group for 1 min. Samples were longitudinally cut and observed under scanning electron microscope at ×2000 magnification.
