Abstract: Aims: To evaluate the relationship of Neutrophil toLymphocyte ratio in pregnant women withPreeclampsia and to investigate whether Neutrophil to Llymphocyte ratio has a role in predicting preeclampsia. Patients and methods:This study was conducted in Niloufer hospital, mother and child health care unit, Osmania medical college Hyderabadfrom August2016 to August 2017.This case-control study was conducted on 108 healthy pregnant women and 108 pregnant women with pre-eclampsia. Among 216 cases and controls 16 women were excluded based on exclusion criteria.
Results: The median NLR value of the preeclampsia group was significantly higher than that of the control group [7.39 ± 3.51 vs. 3.20±1.08; p<0.001]. Conclusion: Given that this study has shown..........

Abstract: Background: Decades of clinical research have established that Acute Pain after surgery has a distinct Pathophysiology that reflects peripheral and central sensitisation as well as humeral factors contributing to pain at rest and during movement, this can impair functional ability and often cumulates in delayed recovery. General Anesthesia involves stressful events at various stages, the most stressful situations are seen during the period of induction, intubation and extubation. Since 1950 Hypertension, Tachycardia has been recognised as commonly associated under light planes of Anesthesia and stressful period. Different techniques with different.......

Abstract: The human periodontium and dental pulp cavity are closely connected by their proximity and by the presence of apical and lateral radicular foramina, which permit the passage of pathogens between these two distinct anatomical areas. The interrelationship between endodontic and periodontic lesion has been a subject of speculation, confusion and controversy for many years. Pulpal and periodontal problems are responsible for more than 50% of tooth mortality today. An endo-perio lesion can have a varied pathogenesis which ranges from quite simple to relatively complex one. When a periapical lesion communicates with a deep periodontal pocket, the etiology can be either endodontic or periodontic. The purpose of this review paper is to explain the nature of that relationship. Successful therapy will only result from the establishment of an accurate diagnosis and forming such a diagnosis requires a methodical multi-staged approach.

Abstract: The study was conducted in District Hospital Baramulla from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2016. It was a post-operative interventional study. In this study, 100 eyes of 100 patients with primary nasal pterygium were operated, 65 males and 35 females. Simple excision under local anesthesia was performed followed by closure of bare sclera by conjunctival autograft. The conjuctival autograft was sutured by three releasable (10-0 Nylon) sutures, single pass three throw loop knot with long ends, one each at upper and lower limbal corner, third one at middle of graft on nasal side. The three surtures were removed on third postoperative day by pulling the long end of the knot. Follow up period was six months. Recurrence occurred in one patient (1%), other complications include subconjuctival hemorrhage/ sub graft hemorrhage in twelve patients (12%), conjuctival chemosis in nine patients (9%), graft retraction from nasal side in four patients (4%), overriding of graft on cornea in three patients (3%) and granuloma in donor site in one patient (1%)

Abstract: Background: Vacuum assisted closure dressing is a recent trend and proven method for faster healing of chronic non healing ulcers. Delayed wound healing is a significant health problem imposes social and financial burdens. Vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) therapy has been developed as an alternative to the standard forms of wound management, which incorporates the use of negative pressure to optimize conditions for wound healing and requires fewer painful dressing changes. Aim: To compare the efficacy of the modified vacuum assisted closure (VAC) dressing using gloves and available resources in a low resource setting with routine Povidone iodine dressing in wound healing in patients who are admitted in GRH,MADURAI.........

Hence it is important to understand the Knowledge, attitude and practices amongst construction workers about malaria; in order to achieve elimination. Aims and Objectives: To study the knowledge, attitude and practices amongst construction workers regarding the prevention, spread and control of malaria and to assess the status of health cards amongst these construction workers.Materials and Methods: The demographic and the knowledge, attitude and practice towards malaria was assessed using a prestructured questionnaire made from previous studies. Focus group discussions and open ended interviews were also conducted. Results: The knowledge..........

Abstract: The association of Sella turcica bridging calcification & midfacial skeleton has been an area of interest for researchers. Based on evidence of common embryologic origin between sella turcica and mid facial skeleton, the aim was to determine an association between sella turcica bridging and facial growth pattern. 60 pretreatment lateral cephalograms were divided into horizontal & vertical facial growth pattern of 30 each and were traced manually with conventional method. Lateral Cephalograms were evaluated by angular measurements (SN-GoGn) to determine facial growth pattern. Sella turcica was calculated using linear measurements. To evaluate & quantify the level of sella turcica bridging, standard scoring scale by Leonardi et al was used. The calculated...........

Abstract: High Energy Radiation causes most damage to the rapidly dividing cells, therefore it is useful in treatment of cancer because tumor cells divide extreme rapidly. (Several mechanisms can be used to deliver radiations to tumor by modern treatment planning systems on the basis of radiation dose planning). The goal of radiation therapy is to deliver a therapeutic radiation dose to target tissue organs while minimizing the risk of normal tissue complications by evaluating biological based 3D treatment planning. The purpose of present work is to study the effective use of equivalent uniform dose (EUD) based optimization in volumetric modulated arc radiation treatment (VMAT) plans.........

Abstract: Background Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease of major public health concern especially in Africa where there is significant upsurge because of the HIV epidemic. It is also the commonest cause of death in AIDS patients. The risk of development of active TB in HIV-infected individuals is 20-37 times higher than those that are HIV negative. Studies have reported that knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) regarding tuberculosis among HIV patients is poor and has been associated with high transmission. A review of available literature of studies on KAP regarding TB among HIV patients have recommended a health education intervention that is specific and directed at this high risk group. This paper outline the study protocol to evaluate the effectiveness of a new developed health education intervention module in improving knowledge, attitude and practice among HIV patients in Nigeria..........

Abstract: Though clitoromegaly is common, its association with Neurofibromatosis is extremely rare. In this case report a female presented to our OPD with painless clitoromegaly associated with features of Neurofibromatosis 1 for the past 15 years. Her hormonal and radiological profile was normal. Features of Neurofibromatosis were plexiform neurofibroma, cafe au lait macules and axillary freckles.
