Abstract: Diabetes is one of the important non communicable disease of the modern era, which leads to multi system involvementcardiac, nervous, renal, ophthalmic, genito-urinal, gastrointestinal, dermatological etc.
Although diabetes is a multi systemic disorder its pulmonaryinvolvement is not extensively studied. Pathological studies in diabetic patients haverepresented changes in alveolar epithelium and capillaries. The consequenceis development of obstructive or restrictive disorders......

Abstract: Aim:This study was carried out to evaluate for and compare the presence of Peripheral Artery disease by Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABI) in obese and non-obese patients of stroke. Materials and Method:This prospectivecross-sectional observational study was carried out in Acharya VinobhaBhave Rural Hospital, DMIMS over 24 months after obtaining due ethical clearance. The study included 120 cases of stroke which were divided into obese and non-obese groups based on Body Mass Index (BMI) and were later evaluated for the presence of associated peripheral vascular disease by Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABI), which was measured by Doppler study. The correlation of the prevalence of the peripheral vascular disease in cases.....

Abstract: Gossypiboma, an infrequent surgical complication, is a mass lesion due to a retained surgical sponge surrounded by foreign-body reaction. It usually has varied presentation and is difficult to detect on radiological investigations. The time of presentation may range from early post‑operative period to several decades later. A correct diagnosis can be made in only one‑third of the cases. The most common differential diagnosis is a new‑onset or recurrent tumor. This may lead to patient's anxiety as well as several unnecessary attempts at biopsy or surgery. We report a case of a 37 year-old lady presenting with palpable abdominal mass five months after emergency caesarean section. Retained foreign body was diagnosed radiologically and confirmed intraoperatively. Though rare, gossypiboma should be kept in mind as a differential diagnosis in postoperative cases presenting as vague pain, chronic lump, obstruction or fistula even years after the operation.

Abstract: Musculoskeletal pain (MSP) is the most common chronic impairment in developed and developing countries as nearly 25% of adult subjects suffer from chronic MS pain. Obesity leads to increased loading of the weight-bearing joint, which may be the most important mechanical contribution. Objective: To study the magnitude of musculoskeletal pain among women and to assess relation between musculoskeletal pain and body composition parameters. Material and method: a cross-sectional study, conducted in the population around Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) and Urban Health......

Abstract: Many drug combinations have been used to improve the quality of subarachnoid block during caesarean section. The synergistic effect of combining local anaesthetic with opioid intrathecally has numerous advantages. Amongst the opioids, Fentanyl addition has been suggested to have various benefits and this has proved in various studies. Hence, this prospective and randomized double blind study was undertaken to compare the efficacy and safety of two different intrathecal fentanyl doses with hyperbaric bupivacaine in terms of the quality and intensity of subarachnoid block in patients undergoing elective caesarean sections. METHODS - 100 healthy parturients, scheduled.....

Abstract: Nasal polyps and chronic rhinosinusitis are often taken together as one disease entity, because it seems impossible to clearly differentiate between them1,2. Nasal Polyposis is therefore considered a subgroup of Chronic Rhinosinusitis. Approximately 20% of CRS patients have nasal polyps3. Nasal polyps have a strong tendency to recur after surgery even when aeration is improved4. Nasal polyps originating from within the ostiomeatal complex appear as grape-like structures in the upper nasal cavity. In the general population, the prevalence of nasal polyposis is considered to be around 4%5. In cadaveric studies, this prevalence has been shown to be as high as 42%6 .They predominantly affect adults and usually present in patients older than 20 years. They are uncommon in children under 10 years age and may be the presenting feature of cystic fibrosis. There is at least a 2:1 male........

Abstract: Sheehan's syndrome is defined by anterior pituitary hormone deficiency due to post-partum ischemic necrosis of the pituitary gland after massive blood loss. We describe a case of 45 year old woman who presented with recurrent hypoglycemia for ten years following history of postpartum hemorrhage. Laboratory test revealed features of hypopituitarism and pancytopenia.Pancytopenia has been rarely associated. Treatment by hormone replacement corrected her hypoglycemia and pancytopenia.

Abstract: Gastric carcinoma is common worldwide and also in India. The diagnosis of gastric carcinoma depends on clinical, radiological, biochemical and pathological parameters 1,2,. 52 cases of endoscopic biopsy and histopathology positive patients were studied on the aforesaid parameters and clinical records were correlated with histopathology. Age range was 30 to 90 years, predominantly males. Main age group affected for male was 5th and 6th decades, and women affected mostly in the age range 36 to 45 years. Clinically dyspepsia and weight loss were commonest symptoms. History of smoking was fairly common(53.86.....

Abstract: Lots of developments and researches are being done in the quest for ideal wound dressings. Epidermal growth factor dressings are one of these new developments. Epidermal growth factor is a growth factor that stimulates the cell growth, proliferation and differentiation by binding to its EGFR. There are not so many studies to quantify the rate of healing applied to the chronic non healing ulcers. The present study is being done to compare the rate of healing of epidermal growth factor dressings vs antiseptic dressings. Though the exact mechanism of action of dressing with antiseptic is unknown. This study is done to evaluate the effects of healing in chronic non healing..............

Abstract: In this modern era, the Incisional hernia is still a surgeon's nightmare with a reported incidence of nearly 10% of patients undergoing abdominal operations. This study has been undertaken to assess the magnitude of Incisional Hernia and different modalities of open treatment in our setup. Our study comprises of 82 cases of incisional hernia admitted and treated in the Department of Surgery, Guntur Medical college, Guntur for a period from May 2014 to April 2017. History, clinical finding, investigations, operation findings, operative procedures and complications during the stay in hospital are documented and recorded in a proforma. Abstract: Introduction:-Forensic Odontology is an investigative aspect of dentistry that analyzes dental evidence for human identification. Forensic Odontology plays an important role in establishing sex, age, and race of victims. Aim and Objectives:- To determine the sex of an individual from tooth pulp tissue, using Fluorescent body test (F-Body test). Materials and Method:- The study sample consisted of 60 extracted teeth (maxillary and mandibular teeth combined) which were collected from private dental clinics. Of these 60 teeth taken for study, 30 teeth were taken from Female patients and 30 teeth were taken from Male patients. The teeth were divided into 3 groups of 20 teeth.....
