Abstract: The therapeutic results among 281 patients with GERD, who were admitted during 2015-2021 to the clinic of surgery and endoscopy of the Faculty of postgraduate education of the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, were analyzed. They were divided into 3 groups: Group I - laparoscopic antireflux surgery using our own modification (patent of Ukraine № 59772), included 62 patients; Group II (195 patients) – laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication; Group III (24 patients) – laparoscopic Toupet fundoplication. In two cases were performed robot-assisted da Vinci operations. 36 months after surgery - the difference in the number of recurrences of GERD - 1.6 % vs. 7.7 %, recurrences of hiatal hernia 1.6 % vs. 3.3 % between groups I and II, the number of recurrences of GERD between groups I and III 1.6 % vs. 12.5 %, recurrences of hiatal hernia 3.2 % vs. 8.3 %.......

Abstract: Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) leading causes of severe long-term pain and disability which affects approximately 1 in 10 of the global population. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is basically a 'concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein' derived from whole blood, centrifuged to remove red blood cells. Now day physicians are using PRP for the treatment of osteoarthritis. We have very limited research-based information regarding the role of platelet-rich plasma in osteoarthritis of knee-joint. Aim of the study: The aim of this study was to assess the role of platelet-rich plasma in osteoarthritis of knee-joint......

Abstract: Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women worldwide. Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that attacks breast tissue originating from the glands, gland ducts and breast supporting tissues. It is caused by disruption of genes that regulate growth and differentiation therefore these cells grow and reproduce uncontrollably. In Indonesia, based on data in 2008, breast cancer ranks first as the most frequent cause of hospitalization in all hospitals and almost 75% of patients suffer from advanced breast cancer. Along with the development......

Abstract: Uterine didelphys is a relatively rare congenital anomaly of the mullerian ducts. However, its association with bladder exstrophy, though embryologically well understood, is very rare. Here, we present such a case of uterus didelphys with atretic right lower hemivagina with a history of bladder exstrophy. She came to us unable to perform sexual intercourse.

Abstract: Background: India is in a phase of demographic transition and trends reveal that population of elderly is growing faster than general population. It is estimated that the proportion of Indians aged 60 and older will rise from 7.5% in 2010 to 11.1% in 2025. The overall objectives of this study were to evaluate socio-demographic data, problems faced by them, factors affecting their health and to find out healthcare requirements of geriatric patients in RIMS, Ranchi. Abstract: Background: Breast cancer is one of the most challenging diseases affecting mankind. Morbidity and mortality from the disease have remained significantly high particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, due to delay in presentation and poor access to cancer care. Nigeria, the most populous black nation in the world, is confronted with a rising incidence of breast cancer. Among Nigerian women, breast cancer generally is diagnosed at an advanced stage, and survival is very poor. Factors contributing to poorer outcome in developing world includes poverty, reduced public awareness, cultural beliefs, practices leading to late presentation, inadequate medical facilities and human resources. Targeted therapies have remained difficult due to tumor biology, differentiation, heterogeneity, and varying molecular subtypes. Materials and Methods: A retrospective.....

Abstract: Making our preparations as conservative as possible is the need of the hour, because we know that tooth structure once lost cannot be regenerated, can only be replaced and hence, we have spent years trying to master this art. Following the advancements in science, our understanding about adhesion has increased the scope for implementing better techniques for the bonding of restorative material to both enamel and dentin. Thus, making our preparation conservative leading to less loss tooth structure, along with reduction in micro-leakage, and henceforth increasing the longevity of the restoration..

Abstract: Background: Various fetal factors are found to be associated with neonatal jaundice which is a normal benign phenomena that affects 60% of the term and 80% of the preterm(1) . But role of fetal factors in its causation has not been proved completely. Hence this study was done to evaluate the relationship between fetal factors and exaggerated physiological jaundice.(2,3,4) Materials and Methods: Retrospective study done on 50 newborns born in Department of Pediatrics VMMC Karaikal during the period of July to September 2019.Full term singleton babies born with no congenital anomalies and other complications irrespective of their birthweight were included. Babies with risk factors for pathological jaundice were excluded. Serum.....

Abstract: Background: Hashimotos thyroiditis is the most common organ specific autoimmune disorder in the women of reproductive age group. Ovary is the most common organ effected in any autoimmune disorder. Hashimotos thyroiditis is associated with diminished ovarian reserve and ultimately result in primary ovarian insufficiency. The aim of the present study is to assess the ovarian reserve in euthyroid hashimoto's thyroiditis and compare with thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibody negative controls and to evaluate the association of serum anti mullerian hormone (AMH) with TPO antibody titres in hashimoto's thyroiditis. Materials and Methods: We included 40 patients in our study with age group between 25-40 years. The cases were 20 women with hashimotos thyroiditis....
