Abstract: Road accidents continue to be a leading cause of death, disabilities and hospitalization in the country despite our commitment and efforts. India ranks first in the number of road accident deaths across the 199 countries and accounts for almost 11% of the accident related deaths in the World. To analyze the magnitude of head injury in fatal RTA cases, present study was conducted in the department of Forensic Medicine Toxicology, Chhattisgarh institute of medical sciences Bilaspur for the duration if 2 year on the RTA cases which came for postmortem examination in our department. 105 victims were taken for the study most of the accident happened at evening 6pm -12 am ,There was a marked male preponderance (89%), and most vulnerable age group was 21-40 years (59%). Two-wheeler occupants (73%) were most commonlyinvolved. Among the intracranial hemorrhages, subdural hemorrhage (SDH) was commonest (61%). In relation to duration of survival time 33% of victims died on the spot followed by 3-7 days of accident.

Acne is estimated to affect 9.4% of the global population; making it the eighth most prevalent disease worldwide. It is a common adolescent problem, affecting more than 85% of teenagers. This study is an attempt to elaborate demographic details, exacerbating factors and psychological effect of acne among medical students. Methods: This cross-sectional observational study was conducted among undergraduate students of a medical college in west India. A detailed history of age, sex, personal and marital history, type of skin, aggravating factors (diet, stress, seborrhea, sweating, solar radiation, cosmetics, premenstrual flare) and psychological effects of acne (anxiety, anger, shame, embarrassment, lack of confidence and impaired social contact) were noted........

Abstract: Introduction: Ultrasound guided biopsy of lung is useful to evaluate number of peripheral parenchymal mass lesions. It is a cost effective and safe technique, exhibits a number of advantages like absence of ionizing radiation, real-time assessment & portability as opposed to CT guided or surgical lung biopsy. Materials & Methods: After informed consent, 50 patients with peripheral mass like lesions with inconclusive diagnosis by routine tests were subjected to trucut gun biopsy using real time ultrasonography. The procedure includes BARD MAX trucut gun biopsy instrument, minor surgical equipment tray, ICD tray and emergency medications.........

Abstract: Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) or Pseudo tumour is a syndrome of increased intracranial pressure without any clear etiology and pathogenesis. If not recognised early and no treated, it may lead to permanent visual loss. There are few studies from India describing the clinical profile of this condition. Objectives : To study the clinical profile of idiopathic intracranial hypertension with emphasis on symptoms, signs, and radiological features. Study design : This is a retrospective study using the copies of discharge cards of patients with idiopathic intracranial hypertension admitted in neurology ward with IIH from August 2019 (01/08/2019 to July 2020(31/07/2020). They are enrolled based on definite Inclusion criteria: Modified dandy's criteria. Total sample size was 35 patients. Results : Out of the 35 patients, 34 were females, majority of whom were obese. Median age of the patients was........

Abstract: Fixed tongue guard is used extensively as a habit reminder in children with thumb sucking and tongue thrusting habits. But in most cases the crib gets embedded in palatal mucosa in the follow up visits and it is extremely difficult to remove the crib once it happens. The present case report describes a novel modification of the traditional fixed tongue guard appliance which helped in preventing the palatal impingement in a seven year old female patient with thumb sucking habit.

Abstract: Gunshot wounds to the thoracoabdominal region are serious injuries that must be thoroughly investigated and treated aggressively. Because a penetrating projectile has no regard for fascial planes or distinctions between body cavities, all wounds in the lower thorax and upper abdomen must be viewed as a single lesion. Because of the physiologic differences between the abdominal and thoracic cavities, injury to both, such as that caused by a penetrating wound, adds more to the patient's shock than injury to either cavity alone. Herein we report a case of gunshot injury to chest and abdomen in a 29 year male who presented with breathlessness and left chest pain. Clinical findings, diagnostic work-up, and follow-up are provided along with a review of the literature on gunshot injury to chest and abdomen.

Abstract: Denture fabrication on a flabbly ridge can be a Herculine task for clinicians as denture fabricated on such a ridge could lack stability and give disappointing results. Special care should be taken by the clinicians while treating such cases. Modifications of conventional impression techniques can be useful aid while treating such cases. These techniques unable the clinician to appropriately record the distorted tissues and fabricate a denture that is stable and retentive. In this article we reviewed various impression techniques that can be implicated for fabricating a denture on flabbly ridges.

Abstract: Surgery has traditionally been considered a very male dominated specialty in spite of the increasing numbers of women that are graduating from medical schools over the years [1]. As female, we were advised that if we became a surgeon, we would never have a personal life. We wouldn't have time for children. It became a tug of war between choosing a lifestyle profession versus something we truly loved with all our heart. In spite of all the warnings we still chose surgery and spent our whole life navigating that balance. But emerging of Covid.....

Abstract: Introduction: Aplastic anemia is a very rare and serious disease. Despite its low incidence rates in recent years due to medical advancements, it still has a high morbidity and mortality rate. It is a disease of multiple etiologies and is normally identified by pancytopenia and hypo-cellular bone marrow. Aplastic anemia can be divided into inherited and acquired types. Acquired aplastic anemia is more common than inherited aplastic anemia, and often has autoimmune etiology. The incidence of aplastic anemia varies depending on many factors, including geographical differences. The present study aimed to observe and evaluate the common risk factors of acquired aplastic anemia in our demographic. The aim of the study was to evaluate the risk factors of acquired aplastic anemia patients.......
