Title | : | A Comparative Evaluation of Microbial Colonization with Different Ligation Techniques |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Sharmada B.K || Dr. Aparna || Dr. Hemanth M || Dr. KarthikKabbur |
Abstract: Fixed or removable orthodontic appliances impede the maintenance of oral hygiene and result in plaque accumulation. The effects of fixed orthodontic appliances on microbial flora is well known. This study was done to determine the changes in microbial flora (Streptococcus) after orthodontic bonding; and to determine whether two different archwire ligation techniques affect these changes; and to find out whether self-ligation brackets and conventional brackets have a difference in aggregation of microorganisms. Pretreatment sample was collected from patient saliva in a sodium glycolate:....

Abstract: More Than Any Other Health Specialty, Dentistry Has Benefited From The Trends And Advances In Digital Photography, And A Well-Designed Protocol Of Dental Photography May Be A Great Contribution For The Orthodontic Practice. Digital Records May Be Used For Several Purposes, Including Patient Records, Treatment Evaluation, Patient Counselling, Didactic And Medico-Legal Uses, As Well As To Present The Quality Of Procedures For Marketing Purposes. A Good Dental Photography Protocol May Greatly Enhance The Dental Practice. The Aim Of This Article Is To Describe Scientific And Technical Information In Detail To Provide A Guide For Dentists Who Wish To Use Photography More Effectively.

Abstract: Profunda femoris artery is a deep and largest branch of femoral artery.Profunda femoris artery gives off the medial and lateral circumflex femoral artery.Femoral nerve divided into anterior and posterior division by lateral circumflex femoral artery.Profunda femoris artery ,medial and lateral circumflex femoral artery are used extensively in different diagnostic and therapeutic intervention.Knowledge of anatomical variation helps to prevent the iatrogenic complication.In present case study,both medial and lateral circumflex femoral artery of right limb are directly arise from right femoral artery instead of profunda femoris artery.....

Abstract: Complete biomechanical preparation of the root canal space is one of the most important stage in root canal preparation. Despite strict length control of the endodontic instruments during root canal preparation, the dentinal filings, pulp tissue fragments, necrotic tissue, microorganisms, and the intracanal irrigant may be extruded from the apical foramen into the periradicular region.....

Title | : | A Comparative Evaluation of Water Absorption of Three Different Esthetic Restorative Materials – An In-Vitro Study |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Yogesh Kumar || Dr. Arshia Kapoor || Dr. Neetu Jindal || Dr. Renu Aggarwal || Dr. Kanika Aggarwal |
Abstract: The water absorption in the composite resins may decrease their physical and mechanical properties; hence, it is necessary to consider the type of the material needed before starting treatment. Three composite restorative materials were selected for this study. Thirty specimens of each material were fabricated with each composite material and divided into three groups – Group A:Tetric N Ceram (nano-hybrid), Group B: Charisma (micro-hybrid), and Group C: Beautifill II (Giomer).

Title | : | Study Of Efficacy Of Doxycycline In The Management Of Primary Syphilis |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | D S S Srinivas Prasad || T V Narasimharao || S Nageswaramma |
Abstract: Syphilis is caused by Treponema pallidum and is one of the oldest venereal diseases known to the mankind. Primary syphilis is the earliest and the commonest presentation of syphilis and benzathine penicillin is the treatment of choice. But benzathine penicillin has the obvious disadvantages that it should be given intramuscularly, very painful and has a risk of transmitting blood borne infections. In penicillin sensitive patients, doxycycline or erythromycin are given orally for the treatment of syphilis.......

Authors | : | Dr.Falguni Mehta || Dr.Hrishabh Joshi |
Abstract: The finite element method (FEM) involves a series of mathematical computational procedures to calculate the load distribution in each element.Such a structural analysis allows the determination of stress resulting from external force, pressure, thermal change, and other factors. This method is extremely useful for indicating mechanical aspects of biomaterials and human tissues that can hardly be measured in vivo......

Title | : | Cystic Hygromas - Our Experience |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Jyotirmoy Phookan || Pritam Chatterjee |
Abstract: Cystic hygromas are rare tumours. The pathophysiology lies in occlusion of lymph channels. It may present as a congenital swelling or in adulthood. There are various chromosomal anomalies associated with it. We here have are presented a series of 9 patients of cystic hygromas and their management. Though easy to diagnose clinically, it needs good radiological evaluation. Complete surgical excision is possible even in very extensive lesions.

Abstract: Introduction : Metabolic syndrome predisposes men and women to premature coronary artery disease. Thyroid functions affect metabolic syndrome parameters including high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure & plasma glucose. There is a need for study to explore the association between thyroid dysfunction & components of metabolic syndrome. This study was conducted to study the pattern of thyroid dysfunction among metabolic syndrome patients.............

Title | : | Smooth Muscle Tumor of Mesentery Presenting As A Giant Abdominal Mass: A Case Report |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. P.Rajya Lakshmi || Dr.K.V.Rama Rao || Dr.B.Ratta Reddy |
Abstract: Objective: Leiomyoma of mesentery is an uncommon tumor .Cystic degeneration is an uncommon type of degeneration a leiomyoma can undergo .This is a case of 51 year old man who presented with progressive abdominal distension of 4 months duration .Investigations revealed it to be a large abdominopelvic cystic lesion. Exploration of abdomen revealed thick walled cystic lesion of about 30x20 cm adherent to distal ileum which was resected along with the segment of bowel. Histopathology suggested it to be a mesenteric leiomyoma with cystic degeneration.
