Title | : | A Study of Pulmonary Functions of Spray Painters Working In Automobile Garage |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Seema Tanaji Methre || Dr. M S Karandikar |
Abstract: Isocyanates are used in various industries including paints. Isocyante induced asthma and extrinsic allergic alveolitis (Hypersensitivity pneumonitis) are known occupational hazards. Hypersensitivity pneumonitis is characterized by both restrictive (acute/subacute) and obstructive (chronic) pattern. Isocyanates are potent agents known to provoke immunological responses leading to a Hypersensitivity pneumonitis. This is a cross sectional study to observe the incidence of obstructive as well as restrictive pattern of disease....

Abstract:Viral STD's are common STD's and their incidence has increased in the last two decades and has assumed major public health significance especially because of their association with HIV. Aim: Present study was under taken to know HIV seropositivity in patients with viral STD's attending OPD at tertiary care hospital. Patients were diagnosed clinically and followed by laboratory investigations including Tzanck smear where required. VDRL and ELISA were done in all patients........

Abstract: Tuberculosis is an ancient human disease that has long been a major public health challenge in the world and remains a problem in most developing countries. India is the highest TB burden country accounting for one fifth (21%) of the global incidence (Global annual incidence estimate is 9.4 million cases out of which it is estimated that 2 million cases are from India). India is 17th among 22 High Burden Countries in terms of TB incidence rate. (Source: WHO global TB report 2010)......

Abstract: This study evaluated the sealing ability of Resin Modified GIC, White MTA and Biodentine as furcation repair materials using a dye penetration method seen under Confocal Laser Microscopy. Forty mandibular molars were randomly divided according to the material used for perforation repair. Group I- positive control, Group II- RMGIC, Group III – White MTA, Group IV– Biodentine. All samples were subjected to retrograde Rhodamine B dye challenge and analyzed under Confocal Laser Microscopy.....

Title | : | Amlodipine Toxicity- A Challenge in Present Day Medical Management |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr Jay Mehta || Dr Rahul Samanta || Dr Bhavin Modi || Dr Ashvin Vasava |
Abstract: Calcium Channel Blockers (Ccbs) Are Prescribed In A Wide Variety Of Cardiovascular Conditions. Nevertheless, They Remain A Major Cause Of Cardiovascular Drug Overdose That Often Leads To A Lethal Outcome. We Report The Case Of Intoxication With Amlodipine, Which Caused Severe Hypotension, In A Middle Aged Man. The Patient Was Initially Treated With Gastric Lavage And Fluids. He Was Given Calcium Gluconate, And Inotropic Support. Patient Was Improved On Fourth Day Without Need Of Glucagon And Hyperinsulinemic Euglycemia. Later The Patient Was Discharged From The Hospital After Psychiatric Consultation.

Abstract: We Performed An Autopsy Analysis (N=16, 5women, 11 Men Of SCD Which Occurred In Patients Aged Over 50 Years During 2011 To 2014. The Following Variables Were Considered: Sex, Age, Medical History, Autopsy Findings To Macroscopic And Histological Evaluation Of The Heart. The Autopsies Were Performed According To Standard Techniques. In All Subjects, The Heart Was Dissected Following Standard Autopsy Protocol And A 5 Cm Section Of The Right Coronary Artery (RCA) In The Atrio-Ventricular Groove From Its Origin, A 5 Cm Segment Of The Left Anterior Descending Artery (LADA) Distal To The Origin Of The Circumflex Artery, But Including The Region Of Origin Of The Circumflex Branch And Left Coronary Artery (LCA) From Its Origin Till The Circumflex Branch Were Excised, Dissected Out, Fixed In 10 % Formalin, Marked For Identification And Sent For Histopathological Analysis.........

Abstract: Background: Generalisedskin rashes are among the most common conditions seen by primary care physicians and dermatologists. Accurate diagnosis is important as diagnostic errors are common and some rashes can be life threatening if not treated promptly. Aim: To know the etiology of different generalised skin rashes and to categorise them into broad groups for better approach. Methods: In the study, 120 cases of all ages,both sexes with varied presentations are included. Their detailed history, clinical examination are carried out, apart from routine investigations, blood VDRL,biopsy are also done for better approach towards the diagnosis.............
