Abstract: The six-stepmethod is a systematic method using as a basis namely the self-efficacy theory. The aim of the study is to determine how effective is Farquhar's six-step method for improving oral hygiene.By blind randomization study participants were divided into two groups - control group (n = 23) and intervention (n = 25).Patients from the control group were instructed for 20 min. through the traditional methods. In the intervention group the traditional instruction was applied first, and then for 10 min. Farquhar's six-step method was applied. For assessing the efficiency of the two methods, it was checked whether OHI is significantly altered in the third week. In the control group the OHI index number from 3 at the first visit was reduced..............

Abstract: Coronary stent fracture is an uncommon complication of stent implantation. We report a case of 66 yrs old male patient presented with unstable angina who underwent stenting in right coronary artery 3 months ago. Computed Tomography Coronary angiogram revealed complete type V stent fracture with pseudoaneurysm formation in right coronary artery. This was managed by surgical revascularization by off pump coronary artery bypass grafting. We are reporting this case due to rarity of complete coronary stent fracture (type V) and relatively early presentation.

Abstract: Genital dermatology encompasses a wide variety of lesions and skin rashes that affect exclusively the genital area. Some are found only on the genitals while other usually occur elsewhere and may take on an atypical appearance on the genital. The clinician must determine whether a genital eruption is related to a sexually transmitted disease, a dermatoses limited to the genitals, or part of a widespread eruption. Although the literature is saturated with with case reports of genital dermatoses no formal study has been done on over all occurrence. Hence we undertook to find out incidence of venereal genital dermatoses in males at tertiary care centre in Guntur medical college, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.

Abstract: Background: Ocular hypertension (OHT) is a condition where Intraocular Pressure (IOP) is high with no evidence of glaucomatous optic nerve damage or visual field loss. Treatment decisions will rely on patient's risk of developing primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) weighed against potential adverse effects, cost and life expectancy. Therefore, in untreated ocular hypertensive patients, validated risk estimators become useful tools in predicting chances of developing POAG. The data on Indian population is lacking hence, we designed this study to predict chances of developing glaucoma in untreated ocular hypertensive patients using glaucoma 5-year risk estimator...........

Abstract: Hemangiomas are abnormal proliferations of blood vessels, making up 7% of all benign soft tissue tumors. The intramuscularhemangiomas are rare tumors & they make up less than 1% of all the hemangiomas. The hemangiomas are described based on the type of vessel involved i.e. capillary, cavernous & mixed.Their location and unfamiliar presentation may require sonography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and sometimes angiography for accurate diagnosis We report case of Intra Muscular Hemangioma of the Serratus Antreior Muscle, in a 26 year old female.

Abstract: Introduction: vitamin d deficiency predisposes to develoment of active tuberculosis. High rate of deficiency of vitamin D have been found in patients receiving antitubercular treatment. Although there are not enough data to establish the efficacy of vitamin D supplementation on mycobacterium tuberculosis clearance from randomized control trial. Vitamin D enhances the expression of the anti microbial peptide cathelicidin(h CAP 18)in cultured macrophage in vitro. Antitubercular drug reduces the impact of vitamin D in enhancing cathelicidin production. Hyperuricemia is associated with low level of vitamin D, antitubercular therapy increases serum uric acid level. This study hypothesizes that hyperuricemia is associated with vitamin D deficiency which in turn make the individual more prone to develop active tubercular lesions.............

Abstract: Banana is a very popular fruit due to its low price and is used both as vegetable and as a dessert fruit. Banana plant has pseudo stems which is the major source of a natural fiber. So the purpose of this project has been to investigate the chemical resistance properties and tested against various chemicals with their tensile strength value. The Banana crop shares about 20% of total fruits production with 36% share in area (BBS estimate 2009-10). So, total land of Bangladesh which has been cultivated banana plant for estimated amount of banana fiber can be extracted from those banana plant together with their approximate value annually has been estimated which will be exported to international market to earn foreign currencies..............

Abstract: Odontogenic keratocysts are very well documented in the literature. Multiple odontogenic keratocysts (OKCs) are one of the most frequent features of nevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome (NBCCS). Rarrely do these multiple OKCs occur in non syndromic patients. Such a case of multiple odontogenic keratocysts unassociated with any syndrome is reported here, so as to add to the growing number of such cases in the literature. Vigilance should be kept in such cases so as to monitor the occurrence of syndrome later on in life.

Abstract: Reduction of intussusceptions under ultrasound guidance by saline has become popular in recent years. The conventional hydrostatic reduction ofan intussusceptions with barium enema or the pneumatic reduction of an intussusceptions is associated with considerable ionizing radiations and risk of perforation; while the hydrostatic reduction of an intussusceptions under ultrasound guidance is very safe method because the whole procedure is visualized with real time ultrasound. Also, beign a non-invasive method with a high success rate, this procedure has emerged as a useful alternative to a surgical intervention The aim of this study was to evaluate the intra luminal pressure required to reduce intussusceptions by ultrasound guided saline enema..............
