Abstract: Trigger digit is a common clinical entity affecting hand, encountered by orthopedicians in their daily practice. It can affect thumb or fingers. Trigger digit in adults, is stenosing tenosynovitis leading to inability to extend a flexed digit or flex an extended digit. This often produces a palpable "‟triggering". Thiscondition usually is seen in individuals older than 45 years of age. The main pathology of trigger finger is a thickening of the first annular (A1) pulley because of occupational trauma, degenerative disorders or inflammation(1,2), leading to entrapment of the flexor tendon proximally to the pulley and making finger pain, swelling......

Abstract: Context: Over the years, audio analgesia has been gaining popularity as a method of distraction amongst pediatric patients. The present study deals with binaural beats i.e an auditory illusion perceived when two different pure-tone sine waves with less than a 40 Hz difference between them, are presented to a listener dichotically. Depending on the differences between the frequencies, the brainwaves are generated causing effects corresponding to the type of wave. Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of binaural beats in reduction of anxiety in apprehensive paediatric patients in order to achieve the objective of minimizing requirement of other behaviour management techniques and time for dental treatment procedures....

Abstract: Necrotizing gingivitis (NG) is a specific and distinctive entity of periodontal diseases that is characterized by acute onset, rapid necrosis of the tissues, painful and bleeding gingiva, and foul smell from the oral cavity. The clinical presentation with profuse bleeding gums accompanied by oral malodor, systemic symptoms such as lymphadenopathy and malaise could be noticed. Predisposing factors such as psychological stress, anxiety, nutritional deficiencies, dysfunctions, tobacco smoking, pre-existing gingivitis, trauma, poor oral hygiene, and HIV-infection plays a major role in the pathogenesis of NG. The treatment of NG is provided immediately to minimize patient discomfort and pain.. Maintenance phase allows to stabilization of the outcome of the treatment provided. The present case report describes the diagnostic approach and conservative management with an outcome of NG in a 32‑year‑old male patient.

Abstract: Apocrine carcinoma is a very rare subtype of breast carcinoma, accounting to less than 1% of the affected population. It is characterized by Cells which have typical apocrine features, namely, abundant eosinophilic granular cytoplasm and prominent/multiple nucleoli. Apocrine carcinomas tend to show estrogen and progesterone receptor negativity and androgen receptor positivity ( ER (-)/PR (-) /AR (+) ); and expression of Gross cystic disease protein fluid-15 (GCDPF-15). We report a case of invasive apocrine carcinoma of breast as it is a very rare morphological entity.

Abstract: Peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma(PCOF) is a focal, reactive, non-neoplastic tumor-like growth of soft tissue commonly arising from the region of the interdental papilla. it is a relatively rare tumour classified between fibroosseous lesions. It predominantly affects adolescents and young adults, with peak prevalence between 10 and 19 yrs. The diagnosis is often challenging as the lesion act as other reactive lesions of gingiva. Complete excision with curettage of the adjacent tissues are essential for prevention of its recurrence. Here, we present case of peripheral cemento-ossifying fibroma in a pediatric patient along with its management

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Nausea is the first and vomiting the third most distressing side-effect of cancer chemotherapy. With the introduction of neurokinin-1 receptor antagonist aprepitant, additional improvement in CINV control is observed. However, breakthrough CINV persists in 30%–40% patients receiving prophylactic antiemetics. Also amongst breast cancer patients only 33% achieve complete absence of nausea despite using aprepitant (APT).Long acting 5-HT3 receptor antagonist palonosetron (PAL) is the first and only antiemetic effective in the prevention of delayed CINV. Also PAL prophylaxis is less costly than APT. However data regarding head-to-head comparison of both these drugs are lacking. OBJECTIVE: Hence this study was undertaken to compare the efficacy, safety of aprepitant versus palonosetron in the prophylaxis of CINV in breast cancer patients.....

Abstract: The prevalence of diabetes is rapidly rising all over the globe at an alarming rate. [1] Over the past 30 years, the status of diabetes has changed from being considered as a mild disorder of the elderly to one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality affecting even the youth and middle-aged people. It is important to note that the rise in prevalence is seen in all six inhabited continents of the globe. Although there is an increase in the prevalence of type 1 diabetes also, the major driver of the epidemic is the more common form of diabetes, namely type 2 diabetes, which accounts for more than 90 per cent of all diabetes cases. Nowhere is the diabetes epidemic more pronounced than in India as the World Health Organization (WHO) reports show that 32.....

Abstract: Though low back pain is common only 4-6% have a significant sciatica and among these, most settle with conservation. It is commonly caused by intervertebral disc prolapsing into intervertebral foramina at L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels. In patients with unilateralsymptoms where conservation fails and whose etiology was confirmed to be ruptured intervertebral disc protrusions, extradural removal of herniated disc helps. Operating microscope to visualize dural sac, nerve roots and other interspinal structures including disc is the gold standard for this. However, discectomy by interlaminar fenestration technique in lumbar disc prolapse is easily learned, cheaper and faster surgery. Here there.....

Abstract: Background: Since the start of the AIDS epidemic, more than 78 million people have been infected with HIV and 39 million have died. With the inventions of newer antiretroviral drugs, the use of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) has been considered as gold standard treatment for HIV. There is limited information regarding levels of adherence and predictors of suboptimal adherence to treatment among PLHA receiving ART in India and high-risk states like Andhra Pradesh. The objective of the study was to assess the adherence to treatment and identify the factors related to adherence, after a period of six months of initiationof ART......
