Abstract: Appendagitis is a rare disease, responsible for a misleading surgical presentation. We report a case of epiploic appendagitis in a 62 year old female patient who presented with left iliac fossa pain with normal blood count and slightly elevated CRP, a CT scan confirmed the diagnosis of appendagitis. The evolution was favourable under simple medical treatment.

L'exploration.......

Abstract: The effect of music listening on the neurological processes by effecting mesolimbic structural changes which is responsible for reward processing has been explored. Pleasant emotional responses to music are associated with changes in cerebral blood flow in brain regions thought to be involved in reward/motivation, emotion, and arousal - Ventral striatum, midbrain, amygdala, orbitofrontal cortex, and ventral medial prefrontal cortex. However, there are not many studies which conclusively indicate the beneficial effects of listening to music on the recovery of the biological aspects of craving and withdrawal symptoms in patients with alcoholic dependence. This study was conducted on 30 patients with Alcoholic Dependency Syndrome (ADS) in the age group of 18 to 64 with an......

Abstract: Music listening intervention seems to be a suitable treatment option for patients with alcohol dependence. Researchers have indicated the positive role of music listening in addictive behavior treatment. The effect of music listening on the neurological processes by effecting mesolimbic structural changes which is responsible for reward processing has been explored. Listening to pleasurable music is studied to help the addicts to recover soon. However, there are not many studies which conclusively indicate the beneficial effects of listening to music on the recovery of the biological aspects of craving and withdrawal symptoms in patients with alcoholic dependence. This pilot study was conducted on 10 male patients with Alcoholic Dependency Syndrome (ADS) in the age group of 18 to 64with an aim to arrive at a suitable research methodology and to detect any limitations relating to recruitment of patients for the study, randomization, period of intervention and compliance to interventional procedures to do a PhD dissertation on the effect of music listening on the craving and withdrawal symptoms of patients.......

Abstract: Masticatory function requires a unique coordination with muscles and oral structures. If the denture is placed in a zonewhere the displacing forces of tongue, lips, cheeks and modulus arebalanced, then the denture will be retained moreeffectively during function. This zone is known as neutral zone. If the denture stays outside/inside the neutral zone itwill be unstable during theactivities such as talking, swallowing and mastication. The neutral zone technique is used tominimize the displacing forces of the surrounding structures. This is a case study in which neutral zone recording techniques werecompared to solve the problems of dentureinstability.....

Abstract: Background: Spontaneous miscarriage is defined as an involuntary termination of pregnancy before 20th week of gestation or spontaneous expulsion of fetus below a fetal weight of 500 gm. Antenatal ultrasonography has been extremely useful in providing better understanding the etiology of first trimester spontaneous abortion and a basis for its clinical classification and management The aims and objective of this study is to identify abnormal ultrasound parameters and correlate the ultrasonic findings with the clinical outcomes.
Materials and Methods: The study included 100 pregnant women attending outpatient department or also admitted in inpatient at 5-12 weeks of gestation fulfilling inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Results: The abortion rate in....

Abstract: Ameloblastoma is a benign odontogenic neoplasm affecting the jaw bones. There are several variants of ameloblastoma based on the clinical, radiological and histopathological presentation. Unicystic ameloblastoma being the least encountered variant with good prognosis and less recurrence rate. The term unicystic ameloblastoma refers to those cystic lesions that show clinical, radiographic, or gross features of a jaw cyst, but on histologic examination show a typical ameloblastomatous epithelium lining part of the cyst cavity, with or without luminal and/or mural tumour growth. It accounts for 10-15% of all intraosseous ameloblastomas. It occurs in 2nd and 3rd decades of life but only about 10% of cases are reported in children and less than one third of those occur in children below 10 years. Here we are presenting an extremely rare case of unicystic ameloblastoma in a one year old male patient.

Abstract: Background: Report showed that Haematological malignancies (HMs) accounted for 6.66% of all cancer cases in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), North-Central, Nigeria. There is lack of accurate information on the frequency and pattern of HMs diagnosed at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada. Thus, the main objective of this study was to determine the frequency and pattern of HMs at this tertiary hospital in FCT, and compare our findings with similar studies within and outside Nigeria. Methods: A retrospective descriptive study of all haematological malignancies diagnosed at UATH during the study period, from 1st, January, 2005 to 31st, December, 2020. The data abstracted from Abuja Cancer Registry (ABCR), and patients' medical register at the Department of Haematology and Blood Transfusion included type of HMs, sex, age, and date of diagnosis.....
