Abstract: Intestinal amebiasis, caused by the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica, remains a significant global health burden. Despite the prevalence of this infection, many individuals exposed to the parasite remain asymptomatic, indicating the presence of host protective mechanisms. This review paper aims to explore and analyze the current scientific literature on the host's immune response and protective mechanisms against E. histolytica infection. The review covers multiple aspects, including mucin exocytosis, gut microbiota, antimicrobial peptides, immune response, vaccine development, epithelial tight junctions, Paneth cells, oxidative stress response, glycosylation, and the interplay between the gut microbiota and Muc2 mucin. The integration of these findings provides a holistic understanding of the host-parasite interaction and offers insights into potential strategies for preventing and managing amebiasis.

Abstract: In Acute pancreatitis is an acute inflammatory disease and one of the most GI causes of hospital admission. In early phase, there is dominant Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS) leading to multi organ failure. In late phase, counter inflammatory reactions predominate to septic complications. In SIRS, because of inflammatory cytokines, there is increase in red cell distribution width due to release of premature RBC and also platelet count decreases. As a result, there will be an raised.....

Abstract: Maintenance of dental and oral hygiene for preschooler involves direct interaction between children and parents because children's dental health cannot be separated from the attitudes and behavior of parents, especially the mother as the key person to the child. This study aims to determine the behavior of mothers in maintaining dental and oral hygiene of preschool children who consume formula milk with caries experience. This type of research is analytic with a cross-sectional design. The subjects were 100 pairs of mother and preschool children who consumed formula milk in Medan. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires and caries experience was examined directly using a diagnostic tools. Respondents who have correct behavior are given a score of 1, those......

Abstract: Surgical sutures helps in the closing and healing of surgical wounds or wounds caused by trauma, by binding tissues together. Because of their ability to promote tissue adhesion and wound closure, absorbable and non-absorbable suture materials are becoming increasingly popular. Dental suturing plays a critical role not just as physical device to approximate apposing tissues, thanks to the introduction of more sophisticated technology in suturing techniques and suturing materials. The article emphasizes some significant advances in surgical suture

Abstract: This article presents a comprehensive review of the transformative concept of Minimally Invasive Endodontics (MIE) within the realm of modern dentistry. The core objective of MIE is to preserve the natural integrity of tooth structure while achieving optimal outcomes in root canal treatments. By embracing patient-centered care, MIE integrates innovative technologies and evidence-driven practices to mitigate discomfort and secure long-term oral health. The review covers various facets of MIE, from access cavity preparations and advanced techniques like Photon-Induced Photoacoustic Streaming (PIPS) and the Self-Adjusting File (SAF) system to the evolution of three-dimensional obturation methodologies......

Abstract: Purpose: This study aimed to assess the gender effect on 2-dimentional wear (2D) (vertical loss) of pre-fabricated and milled artificial denture teeth. Materials and Methods: Thirty-six patients who are completely edentulous were chosen for this research. Two complete dentures were given to each patient. Group I: The complete denture was constructed with pre-fabricated artificial teeth, Group II: The complete denture with digitally fabricated teeth through milling process from Double cross-linked polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) resin disc. The maxillary and mandibular denture teeth were 3D scanned at the time of insertion (T0), after three months of insertion (T3) and six months (T6) of denture use. Utilizing 3D surface superimposition techniques, the vertical (2D wear) material loss was measured in order to evaluate the tooth wear. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS software. Significant difference was considered if P ≤ 0.05.......

Abstract: Background: Oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) are characterised by suspicious alteration in oral mucosa that turn out into the malignancy. It is general consensus that OPMDs shows higher risk of malignant changes within the first few years of diagnosis, if not promptly treated. Early detection is of critical importance, it markedly improve survival rates when identified at early stage. So, investigating the prevalence and risk factors will prevent malignant transformations. So, in our study we attempted to observe the prevalence and risk factors for oral potentially malignant.......

Abstract: Background : The long-term use of a custom ocular prosthesis that is not replaced could cause a shallow socket. These changes affect the size of the socket. In fact, the custom ocular prosthesis becomes loose. Objectives : Modify the impression by duplicating the old custom ocular prosthesis as a special tray for obtaining an accurate impression of the socket and reducing clinical visits. Case Report : A 42-year-old woman......

Abstract: Background: Dental ceramics are designed and distributed with varying translucency in order to mimic the natural tooth. As with any translucent material, as its thickness increases, so does its opacity. This leads to an added level of difficulty in determining the correct shade especially with a cosmetic modality such as laminate veneers. Owing to their preparation design a single veneer varies in thickness, gradually increasing from the margin to the incisal edge. A prudent clinician must accommodate this factor into their treatment during shade determination if they......
