Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Dysmenorrhea among adolescent girls is usually associated with normal ovulatory cycles and with no pelvic pathology. In around 10% of adolescents and young adults with severe dysmenorrhea symptoms, pelvic abnormalities may be found. One study reported that the prevalence was 60% in Karnataka. In view of high prevalence, the current study was undertaken. OBJECTIVE: To know the effect of Jeera water on reducing pain severity in girls suffering from dysmenorrhea. METHODS: Using a quasi-experimental design, 44 students were selected randomly for intervention who fulfill inclusion criteria. The purposive sampling......

Abstract: Background and Aim: Preeclampsia is known to be a leading cause of maternal and neonatal death worldwide. It is a multi-system disorder of pregnancy with unknown origin, characterized by development of hypertension to the extent of 140/90mm Hg or more with proteinuria after the 20th week in a previously normotensive and non-proteinuric patient. The fall in the platelet count is most frequent abnormality & is probably due to consumption during low grade intravascular coagulation. The current study aims to evaluate the platelet count in pre-eclampsia and normotensive pregnant.....

Abstract: Background and aim: Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-specific multi-organ syndrome that affects 2% to 8% of pregnancy. It is a unique condition of placental pathogenesis with acute onset of predominantly cardiovascular manifestations attributable to generalized vascular endothelial activation and vasospasm resulting in hypertension and multi-organ hypoperfusion. Elevation of serum sFlt-1 level that is associated with inhibition of nitric oxide signalling can contribute to the pathogenesis of preeclampsia. Therefore the aim of this study is to evaluate the soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 in patients with preeclampsia. Materials and Methods: A case control study was conducted in the Department....

Abstract: This is a case of non-syndromic, non-familial type of multiple basal cell carcinoma (BCC). A 46-year-old Indian farmer presented with multiple, black-colored papules and plaques of various sizes over pinna, back, limbs, chest and abdomen since 6 years which slowly progressed to form ulcerative lesions since last 1 year. He had no history of irradiation, herb medication, arsenic intake, or exposure to chemical warfare gases. Family history for basal cell carcinoma.....

Abstract: Introduction: Dental maturity, expressed as dental age, is one of the common indices for age estimation. A complete or partial absence of an X chromosome in the karyotype of phenotypic females has an impact on dental maturation. The purpose of this study was to determine the dental age in patients with Turner's syndrome using Demirjian's method, and to determine the influence of various karyotypes on dental maturity. Material and methods: The study population consisted of 40 Turner syndrome patients, aged from 9.2 to 18 y. The TS patients were subdivided according to karyotype (monosomy X, mosaic, and isochromosome) so that karyotypic phenotypic correlations.....

Abstract: Introduction: In current clinical practice, obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) remains the most common underlying cause of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), with many of these patients having a history of myocardial infarction (MI) or revascularization. Despite advances in cardiovascular diseases, chronic heart failure (HF) is a category, which the prevalence, incidence, hospitalization rate, total burden of mortality, and costs have increased in the past 2-3 decades. Even though HF is a major global health problem, the data from developing countries are sparse.....

Abstract: Introduction: Acute appendicitis (AA) is a common cause of abdominal pain encountering unnecessary surgeries in emergency departments. The present study aims to assess the accuracy of abdominal ultrasound in suspected acute appendicitis cases in terms of sensitivity, and specificity with histopathology. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Department of Radiology and Imaging, Combined Military Hospital Sylhet, Bangladesh. The study duration was 3 years; from July 2020 to June 2023. 106 patients admitted to the emergency room with clinical symptoms of suspected acute appendicitis were considered study subjects per inclusion.....

Abstract: Objective: To compare biochemical parameters in metabolic syndrome and non metabolic syndrome of DKD. Method: This study was conducted on 400 subjects of DKD at Government Medical College and associated groups of hospitals Kota, Rajasthan from September 2019 to August 2021.Patients diagnosed with both DM-2 and CKD, as per the criteria were included in our study, in which eGFR ≤60mg/ml/1.73m2. This study group has 107 cases of Non-MS and 293 cases of MS. Result and discussion: We observed a significant rise in blood sugar, total cholesterol , serum triglyceride in metabolic syndrome patients compared to non-metabolic syndrome patients. Study shows, only serum HDL decreases in MS as compared to Non- MS.....

Abstract: Background:32 million population are affected by COVID-19 throughout the world . Because of the virus and drug induced immune suppression secondary bacterial infections are becoming a major threat to critically ill patients .They tend to increase the mortality rate in the population . Materials and Methods: From 100 COVID positive patients who are admitted in King George Hospital the following samples like blood ,urine ,sputum were collected and the patient history was taken .Tests for bacterial isolation was conducted on media like on blood agar ,MacConkey agar ,chocolate agar and biochemical reactions are done for confirmation.....
