Abstract: This study aims at identifying the prevalence of multiple variants in CT of paranasal sinuses(PNS) done in our institution and to find out correlation to sinusitis if any. A retrospective analysis of 200 cases (100 in sinusitis group and 100 in asymptomatic group) of CT PNS was done at our institution. The prevalence of variants including those with surgical importance were studied. Comparison was done using Pearson's Chi square test. The most common variant was deviated nasal septum, followed by lamellar concha followed by agger nasi cell in both the groups. ...........

Abstract: Health seeking behaviour among married women of reproductive age group in a rural area was studied by community based cross sectional method. In a sample of 270 women 72.6% reported taken treatment for their perceived symptoms.Socio-demographic factors like literacy of women, joint family system were significantly associated with the treatment seeking behaviour (p<0.005).Most of the treatment seekers preferred private health facility (44.4%) and the most common reason (48.50%) reported by the non treatment group was that the symptoms were not affecting their routine activity............

Abstract: Background: Ocular trauma is an important, preventable public health problem worldwide. It is the single most important cause of acquired monocular blindness in the world .Around half million people are blind as a result of ocular injuries. Cataract formation is a serious visually challenging sequel after trauma. Aim: 1. To evaluate visual outcomes following cataract surgeries in the eyes with traumatic cataract. 2. To study the associated ocular morbidities of traumatic cataract. Materials And Methods: A total number of 50 patients were selected from the outdoor as well indoor patients after fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Detailed history, ocular examinations and investigations were performed. Subsequently appropriate surgical management was done and the visual outcome was evaluated on follow ups...........

Abstract: Pumpkin ( cucurbita maxima ) belongs to cucurbitaceae which include pumpkin, gourds, melons and squashes. They are characterized by their seed oil. Pumpkin plant has been grown since the earliest history of mankind1. ( Brucher – 1989 ). Pumpkin are grown around the world for variety of agricultural purposes, the seeds show anti helmintic, taenicide diuretic, cardio tonic, anti-inflammatory, anti - diabetic, anti-hyperlipidemic, anti – giardial activity CNS stimulant, melanogenesis inhibitory activity and immune modulatory action. Oil from seeds is nervine tonic.........

Abstract: Aim: To analyse bacteriological and its sensitivity pattern in peritoneal fluid in cases of perforative peritonitis admitting in CMCH and MMCH so as to select appropriate empirical antibiotic therapy. Methods: Patients presenting to the casualty of CMCH and MMCH with features of Perforative peritonitis such as abdominal guarding , rigidity and Chest Radiograph showing bilateral air under diaphragm are taken up for emergency laparotomy and the peritoneal fluid is sent for bacterial culture and sensitivity and according to the laboratory results appropriate antibiotics are initiated in the post-operative period. Results: From this study it was analysed that the most common organism isolated from peritoneal fluid of perforative peritonitis patients is Klebsiella species and second most common was Escherichia Coli. Appropriate antibiotics such as cephalosporins were started for the patient according to the culture and sensitivity reports..............

Abstract: Aims And Objectives: As of 2016, An estimated 180 million people in India have primary hypertension. We set out to investigate the pharmacotherapeutic profile in this vast and varied population. Our objective was to assess what fraction of our study population was on medication in accordance to the best available contemporary medical evidence by comparing our results with 05 International guidelines published in the past 06 years. Methods: We studied 1081 patients with a previous diagnosis of primary hypertension and analyzed the anti-hypertensives they were on, which had been prescribed from various urban and rural centers. Some of these patients were on our follow up as outpatients, while others were migrating from other medical setups. It was our endeavor to study a sample size large enough so that extrapolation to the general population was not an obstacle...........

Abstract: Gastrointestinal anastomosis is one of the most common procedures performed for a widevariety of surgical conditions either as the primary treatment or as part of a major surgerysuch as cancer surgery to restore anastomosis following resection. Despite meticuloustechnique, anastomotic surgeries tend to have frequent complicationsranging from issuesas simple as anaemia following surgery to requiring ventilatory support and repeatsurgery for their management. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of the SubjectiveGlobal Assessment (SGA) Score in predicting postoperative morbidity in patientsundergoing these surgeries depending on their preoperative.................

Abstract: Introduction:Caesarean delivery defines the birth of a fetus via laparotomy and then hysterotomy. Caesarean section rates have continued to increase worldwide in recent years. The reasons for increase in the caesarean delivery rates may be due to increase in number of elderly primi gravidae, caesarean delivery on maternal request, fear of litigation in obstetric practice and the reluctance on the part of obstetricians and the patients to accept even minute errors and many more. Rise in caesarean section rate should be assessed for improving quality of care for the pregnant woman. We evaluated the rate of caesarean births according to Robson criteria in our birth centre and aimed to determine the cause of this rising trend and assess the efficacy of various measures taken to reduce the rate of caesarean section.............

Abstract: This study characterized structural abnormalities associated with onset of seizures in children using MRI and a standardized classification system in a large prospective cohort. A total of 281 children aged 6 to 14 years completed an MRI within six months of their first recognized seizure. Most MRI examinations were performed with a standardized, dedicated seizure protocol, and all were scored using a standard scoring system. At least one MRI abnormality was identified in 87 of the 281 (31%) of children with first recognized seizure. Two or more abnormalities were identified in 34 (12%). The most common abnormalities were ventricular enlargement............

Abstract: Spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage is one of the major causes of acute cerebrovascular accidents. Hemorrhagic stroke accounts for approximately 15% of all stroke and is classified according to anatomic compartmentalization as intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) (approximately two thirds) or subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) (approximately one third). It is very important to detect intracranial hemorrhage as early as possible for proper management as it may lead to rapid neurological deterioration and even death. Hence it is an indication for urgent neuro imaging. The aim of this work was to evaluate the computed tomography (CT) findings of spontaneous intracranial............

Abstract: Zirconia implants were familiarized into dental implantology. Zirconia appears to be an appropriate implant material due to its low plaque affinity, tooth like color, biocompatibility and mechanical properties. The following a case presentations will show how the acid-etched zirconia Implant can be used to functionally and aesthetically replace congenitally missing left lateral incisor tooth germ in the maxilla, and achieve optimal soft tissues and health.

Abstract: This case report describes extraction of a fractured left maxillary central incisor tooth, followed by immediate placement of an one-piece implant in the prepared socket and temporization by a bonded restoration. Materials And Methods: The tooth was extracted with minimal hard and soft tissue trauma and without flap reflection. The socket was prepared to the required depth and a Implant was inserted. Results: The atraumatic operating technique and the immediate insertion of the one-piece Implant resulted in the preservation of the hard and soft tissues at the extraction site...........
