Abstract: Background: Intussusception is a relatively rare cause of intestinal obstruction in adult patients. Adult invagination is mostly caused by benign tumours. Intussusceptions caused by inflammatory fibroid polyps (IFPs) are uncommon. IFPs (Vanek's tumour) are benign tumour masses occurring in stomach, small intestine and less commonly, large intestine. They can occur at any age & are not related to any medical condition or syndromes.

Abstract: Introduction: Leprosy is a chronic, infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae. It is classified into five groups based on clinical, histological, microbiological and immunological criteria (Ridley & Jopling Classification). However a great variation is seen in interpretation of clinical and histopathological examination of these lesions. The present research was taken to study the correlations between the clinical and histological diagnosis and to evaluate the importance of skin biopsy as an important diagnostic and spectrum defining tool...............

Abstract: Magnetic Resonance Urography (MRU) is increaingly replacing Intravenous Urography (IVU) which has been the traditional modality for uro-imaging. However, the effectiveness and advantages of this new and costly modality need to be proven before defining its place in the uro-radiological armamentarium. We conducted a prospective study to assess the role of MRU in 100 consecutive cases where IVU was inconclusive or contra-indicated. As 4 patients had solitary functioning kidney, a total of 196 renal units were evaluated. In all the cases the results of IVU and MRU were cross-checked for accuracy by multi- modality imaging or surgical feedback...............

Abstract: Introduction: Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) Syndrome is a rare congenital absence of uterus and the upper two-thirds of the vagina in women who have normal development of secondary sexual characteristics and normal 46 XX karyotyping. Case report: We here report on a 17 years old girl with type I MRKH syndrome. Discussion: Laboratory studies should include, Chromosomal analysis to exclude karyotypic abnormalities of the X chromosome and androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS). Normal levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) indicate appropriate ovarian function. On the other hand, Ultrasound and MRI plays a pivotal role in highlighting the exact anatomical details................

Abstract: Autism is a complex psychopathology caused by an abnormal neuropsychological development to which an individual is not able to self-regulate their feelings towards a coherent and correct psychomotor activity and communicative. Many factors contribute to the onset of this disease, and recent studies have highlighted, which important causes, in addition to the neuro-immunological interactions, the increased presence in the blood of inflammatory substances such as cytokines. Our research has been devoted to the identification of inflammatory cells in the nose in autistic patients by panoptic staining and microscopic observation. From the results obtained it proved the presence of a greater number of inflammatory cells in autistic subjects compared to normal individuals.

Abstract: Pain control during immediate post operative period is necessary in Total Knee Arthroplasty(TKA) patients for early mobilization. The use of COX-2 inhibitors preoperatively has shown significant reduction in opiod usage and in pain relief post operatively. Furthermore, some studies have suggested that the addition of pregabalin preoperatively has led to further reduction in postoperative pain and opiod use.The aim of this study is to compare pain scores in a group of patients who receive a single preoperative dose of pregabalin combined with a COX-2 inhibitor and a control group which receives only COX-2 inhibitor...............

Abstract: Hemangiomas which are tumors of vascular origin constitute 7% of all benign tumours. Hemangiomas of the head and neck region comprise about 60 70%. . Hemangiomas can be infantile or congenital Hemangiomas. Infantile Hemangiomas(IH) are more common in pre mature infants. Congenital Hemangiomas are tumors that occur fully grown at birth and do not manifest the postnatal course and lifecycle of common IH. They can be sub classified as rapidly involuting congenital Hemangiomas(RICH) and Non Involuting congenital Hemangiomas(NICH). The purpose of this article is to give a comprehensive review of hemangiomas and the diverse treatment options available for this complex endothelial tumour and to stress the fact of individualizing a treatment protocol.

Abstract: Gaucher disease is the commonest lysosomal storage disorder caused due to deficiency of enzyme Glucocerebrosidase. The overall incidence is about 1: 40000. The main clinical features are organ enlargement (liver and spleen), bone marrow infiltration and skeletal involvement leading to bone pain and pathological fractures. Pancytopenia or thrombocytopenia is the commonest clinical presentation secondary to hypersplenismin type I gauchers disease. Enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) has revolutionized the treatment of Gaucher disease .Symptomatic patients of GD 1 and GD 3 merit treatment. ERT is most effective in reducing the liver and spleen size and the bone symptoms, and improving blood counts. This article describes a case of Gauchers disease in a 19 year old female patient...............

Abstract: MR imaging provides information on soft tissue damage and has been accepted widely for the evaluation of internal knee derangements. Hence the purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of MRI in the early and precise diagnosis and to study the meniscal anatomy, normal variants, types and incidence of injuries in menisci by MRI. Out of 43 patients the males (84%) are commonly affected than females (16%). Majority of the patients fall under the age group of 15-30 years (48%). Among meniscal injuries medial meniscal tears (46.5%) were more common than lateral meniscus (37.2%), Grade III tears were common in both .Among medial meniscus tear, The posterior horn (55%) was commonest site of involvement..............
Keywords: (knee, meniscal anatomy, meniscal tear, MRI, normal variants) MRI is generally considered a valuable diagnostic tool when there is a history of knee trauma. MR imaging is the best modality for detecting meniscal tears. It is non invasive, fast can be done on an outpatient basis and is free of complications.
[1]. The present study attempts to determine the role of magnetic resonance imaging in the evaluation meniscal tears. Knee joint being the largest and most complex weight bearing joint of the body is subject to damage because of its inherent structural complexity and the various types forces it is subjected to. In the setting of traumatic knee joint, MR imaging is the best noninvasive modality for the diagnosis of meniscal tears. Familiarity with the normal anatomy and common pit falls reduces errant interpretation but does not eliminate them entirely. MR imaging of
[2]. knee is considered efficacious especially in the setting of indeterminate clinical findings and can stratify patients, guiding further surgical management. In the present study, 43 cases with history of trauma to knee joint were studied.
[3]. The most common age group to be involved between 15-30 years. The following pattern of meniscal tears were seen Among the meniscal injuries medial meniscal tears were more common and were seen in 20 patients (46.5%) than lateral meniscus. Grade III tears were common in both.

Abstract: Endodontic sealers are used for obturation of the root canal system in combination with heat-softenned gutta-percha in order to achieve hermetic seal throughout the canal and its irregularities. During warm condensation of gutta-percha, high temperatures are also applied to the root canal sealer which may potentially lead to change in their physical properties. Both setting time and solubility of a premixed bioceramic sealer were investigated through laboratory testing. The material was subjected to two temperature regimes. We did not find signifficant differences in the tested physical parametres under two temperature conditions. The choice of the most suitable endodontic sealer should be consistent with the specific clinical situation as well as with the obturation technique. Different environmental conditions may occur in variation the physical and chemical properties of the sealers that may result in endodontic failure..............
