Abstract: Aim: Alcohol is the leading substance among the abused substances which is legitimate to use and causes significant burden than any other substances. Globally, alcohol consumption has escalated in recent decades, with all or most of that increase in developing countries. The present study was aimed to estimate the prevalence of depression and anxiety among individuals with alcohol use disorder in a tertiary care hospital . Methodology:A cross sectional based study .40 Subjects were recruited in the study after the approval from the institutional ethics committee. After obtaining the informed consent sociodemographic profile was collected using a Semi structured Proforma . Screening for alcohol consumption was done using CAGE questionnaire and Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test (AUDIT).Patients were then screened for the presence of Depression and Anxiety , 10.......

Abstract: Introduction: A modern fast-paced life, and an increasingly violent and intolerant society have made facial trauma a form ofsocial disease. This has resulted in changes in the pattern and clinical features of facial injuries—ranging from mild to massive disfigurement of maxillofacial skeleton along with functional loss.Traumatic injury contributes to the global health burden . Aims And Objecives: To identify the associated injuries in maxillofacial injuries in western Uttar Pradesh, India. Abstract: Dengue or " break bone fever" has gradually evolved as one of the important causes of febrile illness in the tropical and subtropical region. There are about 50 million new dengue infections occuring each year worldwide.1 There are about 2.5 billion people living in areas where dengue is endemic and hence potentially at risk for infection. A sharp increase in dengue cases is being observed in 2019 when compared to past decades. Dengue fever has been found to have profund effect on multiple organ systems, the commenest being the liver. The aim of present study is to analyze the Liver Function Test and dengue serology in individuals having acute febrile illness to study the changes in LFT in Dengue cases.

Abstract: The bird-face deformity with high Frankfort–mandibular plane angle with significant retrogenia, often associated with diminutive condyles and reduced posterior face height, poses many challenges to the orthognathic surgeon. Several surgical procedures including bilateral sagittal split osteotomy(BSSO), vertical ramus osteotomy(VRO) and inverted L-osteotomy have been used to correct it. But when the patient is having a normal occlusion, these procedures alter this occlusion making a post surgical orthodontic treatment mandatory. This lengthens the total duration of treatment that the patient has to go through as well as unnecessary alteration in........

Abstract: Pseudo meningocele are common complications after posterior fossa cranial surgery. Management guidelines are lacking, and radically different suggested treatments varying from observation to immediate surgical intervention are encountered in literature. Its management can be challenging and treatment options vary in literature, and there is no consensus on the optimal management strategy.3, 4, 5 and even rarer articles and study are available about management of recurrent pseudo meningocele. This case report emphasizes the significance of conservative management of pseudo meningocele even after previous re-eploration there by abating unnecessary procedures. The conservative management includes pressure dressing, bed rest and CSF lumbar drainage.

Abstract: Introduction: Ovarian carcinoma is 6th most common cancer among the women worldwide. Surface epithelial ovarian tumors accounts for two third of all ovarian neoplasms and their malignant form represent about 90% of ovarian cancers. One of the most studied prognostic marker in ovarian cancer so far is overexpression of p53. Intranuclear accumulation of p53 has been detected in as many as 69% ovarian carcinomas by immunohistochemical studies. Method and material: All the cases of surface epithelial ovarian tumors diagnosed during study period classified according to WHO classification.........

Abstract: Background: Serum uric acid (SUA) level is an important biomarker for metabolic diseases and it is related to many forms of arthritis including OA. Many studies have been published showing direct association of elevated serum uric acid level (hyperuricemia) and progression of radiographic changes in OA. However, few studies have shown no significant association. In such controversy, a cross sectional study is designed to evaluate the association between serum uric acid level and radiographic OA of the knee. Methods: Adult patients (Age >18 years)........

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Spinal anaesthesia gives intra and postoperative pain relief with full preservation of mental status and normal reflexes. The spinal blockade is the commonest form of centrineuraxial blockade. The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy and analgesic effect of mixture of midazolam-bupivacaine as compared to bupivacaine alone in patients undergoing lower limb and lower abdominal surgeries under subarachnoid block. Materials and Methods: 100 adult patients of ASA grade I-II scheduled for lower limb and lower abdominal surgeries were randomly allocated to two groups to receive either 3.0ml of 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine in (group B) or 3ml of 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine.......

Abstract: Introduction- A correlation between the challenge of Helicobacter pylori prevalence worldwide and the challenging spread of childhood diabetes in the world was kept in mind for this study. The rising frequency of childhood diabetes mellitus in the world should not be taken in separate consideration from the worldwide dramatic spread of adultdiabetes mellitus (DM). The correlation between diabetes and the increased incidence of obesity in children shouldbe also considered.H. pylori were suggested as one of the environmental reasons that could be directly related to the problem ofchildhood DM. The challenge lies mainly in the emergence of drastic resistant H. pylori strains due to the.........

Abstract: Background: Hypertensive disorders in pregnancy is one of the major causes of maternal and neonatal morbidity, mortality, premature birth, intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), and low birth weight and solely maternal mortality is account for 10-15% of maternal deaths in developing countries. Each year, an estimated 2.9 million babies die during the neonatal period and 2.6 million babies are stillborn around the world due to presence of PIH in pregnancy. According to WHO 2018, the rate of stillbirth is 21.9 per 1000 births in women with a pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH). The objectives of the study is to estimate the prevalence of pregnancy induced hypertension during pregnancy in a selected rural health center in Bangladesh.
