Abstract: Introduction: Lung cancer is currently the most frequently diagnosed cancer in the world and is a major healthcare problem in India. It should be diagnosed at the earliest possible stage. The prognosis of lung cancer is related to factors like stage, size, presence or absence of visceral pleura and lymph node invasion. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study was done on first 54 small biopsy specimens of suspected neoplastic lung lesions and imprint smears prepared from same biopsy received in the department of pathology, Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool, during the study period of 12 months (June 2017- May 2018). Results: Diagnostic test evaluation of imprint cytology smears was done on 54 cases of lung lesions received in Department of pathology, Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool during study period of 12 months (June 2017-June 2018). The mean age distribution of the present study population is 62.11 years, minimum age is 28 years and maximum age is 78 years and majority belong to age group 60-69 years (43%). 88% of cases were male patients. 65% of cases.......

Abstract: Introduction: Different disorders affecting thyroid gland may present with similar signs and symptoms clinically. Commonest sign is being a visible neck swelling. In such cases as well as clinically suspected lesions of the thyroid gland, ultrasonography is well-established, reliable, cheap and modality of choice for the initial characterization of the thyroid lesions. Materials and Methods: A prospective study was conducted on patients with thyroid problems, presenting at Department of Radiology and Imageology, Bhaskar Medical College & Hospital for ultrasound imaging. 223 patients were included in the study period of October 2016 to December 2018. All Patients with suspected thyroid lesions sent for sonography were included in our study. Patients diagnosed with thyroglossal cyst, undergoing treatment for thyroid abnormalities........

Abstract: Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder (PTSD) develops after a person`s exposure to a frightening event that caused or could have cause physical damage. The symptoms start to appear during the first three months after the traumatic event and must last more than a month and be, severe enough to interfere with social life and the ability to function at the work place in order to be considered a PTSD. This paper presents the results of psychological intervention and physical treatment had on patients with PTSD in the Rehabilitation Clinics.

Abstract: Background The median arcuate ligament passes superior to the origin of the celiac artery and is a continuation of the posterior diaphragm that wraps over the aorta. If it lies too low on the aorta, the ligament may cause symptoms of abdominal pain related to compression of the celiac artery. Case Report An abdominal ultrasound in a 22-year-old man with longstanding abdominal pain after eating showed elevated celiac artery velocities of >300 cm/s upon inspiration. Computed tomography angiography of the abdomen showed stenosis of the origin of the celiac artery and confirmed the diagnosis of median arcuate ligament syndrome. Release of the median arcuate ligament resulted in relief of the patient's symptoms. Conclusion.....

Abstract: Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by Treponema Pallidum subspecies Pallidum. According to WHO the annual global incidence of syphilis is approximately 12.2 million cases .There is a strong epidemiological association between syphilis and HIV infection. Syphilis is common among patient with HIV infection and converse is also true. Therefore, we present here a case of Secondary Syphilis with HIV. A 22 year old male student came with multiple generalised asymptomatic skin lesions. Diagnosis was confirmed by serological studies- RPR (Reactive), TPHA (Positive), HIV 1&2 (Reactive).

Abstract: Background- Resistance towards Carbapenems and Cephalosporins are increasing among various Non-fermenting gram negative bacilli, which are emerging as potential nosocomial pathogens. This study was undertaken to estimate the prevalence of Metallo-Beta-Lactamase producers among various NFGNB, by phenotypic methods. Methodology - This is a prospective, descriptive study done in Mahatma Gandhi Medical College, Puducherry. It involves 170 Imipenem and/or Ceftazidime resistant or intermediately sensitive Non fermenting Gram negative bacilli, isolated from various non duplicating clinical samples of patients. Those isolates were subjected to IPM/CAZ EDTA Double Disc Synergy Test and IPM/CAZ EDTA Combined Disc and Modified Hodge test to detect the prevalence of MBL production. Final results were obtained by using simple percentage and ratio calculations..

Abstract: Background: Teenage pregnancy rates varies vastly between different countries and different regions within a country. Such pregnancies are seen mostly amongst the poorer and less educated sections of the society. In developed countries majority of teenage pregnancies occur to unmarried girls unlike developing countries including India where teenage pregnancies occur to married girls and are associated with early marriages. Aim & Objectives: To find out the incidence and to evaluate the effect of pregnancy in teenage girls and its maternal and fetal outcome. Material & Methods: It is a one year hospital based clinical prospective study of all teenage pregnant females admitted to a tertiary care centre. Required details were collected on a proforma by taking history and following up the patients from admission to delivery. MS Excel was used for statistical purpose. Results: Teenage pregnancy......

Abstract: AIM- Effect of Phase I Therapy on Systemic Inflammatory Markers in the Peripheral Blood In Periodontitis Patients Materials and Methods: Thirty subjects of periodontitis were selected from the outpatient department of Peridontics, Kothiwal Dental College & Research Centre. For all the thirty subjects involved, the blood sample was collected at baseline and sent for hematological examination. Clinical parameters were also recorded such as plaque index, gingival index and probing pocket depth. Then scaling and root planing was done. After three weeks, again blood was collected and sent for hematological examination along with clinical parameters were also recorded same as that of baseline. At this phase scaling and root planning was not performed. Then, patient was again recalled at six weeks and blood sample was taken and clinical parameters were recorded. Results: Treatment Procedures.....

Abstract: Introduction: Anaemia is a health complication influencing global countries and 80% of pregnant are being diagnosed as anaemic due to different circumstances results in adverse maternal and fetal complications. In India the pregnant women suffering with mild anaemia is23.3%, moderate anaemia is 56.6% and severe anaemia is 20%, particularly rural areas of India are most predictable regions due to conditions such as poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition etc. This study aims to identify prevalence of anemia Methodology: A 6 months interventional study conducted in the rural areas of Ananthapuramu district. Pregnant women of all trimesters were included based on study criteria and Data was collected during baseline and follow up visit and counselled by giving information leaflet. The data obtained was analysed by graphpad instat.......

Abstract: Fracture of proximal humerus accounts for 5% of all fractures.Proximal humerus fracture are the third most frequent fractures in elderly patients after hip and colle's fracture.most of the patients are of more than 60 years and 75% are women.Different modes of fixation for proximal humerus fracture are percutaneous k wire fixation, percutaneouscancellous screw fixation and locking proximal humeral plate application.Locking proximal humeral plate is newer implant, which is based on the principle of locking compression plates,it provides better angular stability and is a low profile plate which will prevent subacromial impingement. Two and Three part fracture represent almost majority of the proximal humerus fracture.Percutaneous screw fixation was done in 3 (6.97%)cases,Percutaneous k wire fixation was done in 16(37.2%) cases and open reduction and internal fixation with plate was done in 24(55.83%) cases. The Neer's scoring system of the severity of pain, function, range of movement, anatomy was used to determine the end results. In our study 19 cases were treated with......
