Abstract: Introduction: Open fracture of tibia is a common occurrence in the orthopedic treatment arena. Open fractures of tibia are classified into Type I, II, IIIA, IIIB and IIIC. Illizarov method is a popular method of treating open tibial fractures after debridement and open reduction. It is comparatively a newer method and has many advantages. Aim of the study: The aim of this study was to evaluate the Ilizarov Technique in the treatment of open fractures of tibia. Methods:This study was carried out during the period from January 2016 to January 2018 at TMSS Medical College and RCH Bogura, Bangladesh. In total 40 patients with tibial fractures were selected as the study population. Before starting the......

Abstract: Background: to evaluate the results of the surgical treatment and the prognostic elements in our patients. Material and method: from January 2016 to December 2018, 86 patients were operated on in the oncological surgery department A of the CPMC. Results: The mean age of the patients was 58.54 years [32-88], more than half had a history of metabolic disease, five patients had a history of lynch syndrome. Fifty-four patients were classified ASA II, 62.7%; the most frequent histological type in our population is type I (endometriotic adenocarcinoma) [84%], the majority of patients were classified stage I by FIGO (International Federation of Gynecologists and Obstetricians), i.e. (62.7%) in preoperative and (52%) postoperative after definitive anatomo-pathological results. Adjuvant treatments depended on these final results. Conclusion: Endometrial cancer is considered favorable because.......

Abstract: Aim: in this retrospective descriptive study we are reviewing the main clinical and radiological features of our 47 patients Serieof olfactory groove meningiomas operated on in our department as well as their surgical results and outcome while focusing on the complication strategy avoidance with nuances in the surgical management in the light of up to date management criteria. Patients and methods: 47 patients were operated on in the department of neurosurgery at the neurosurgical specialized hospital in Cherchell and Ali Ait Idir specialized hospital in Algiers in the period between January 2010 and December 2019. All our cases were reviewed from their clinical manifestation to the radiological findings and the surgical approach adopted for each case. Complications were listed and looked up for any associated variable according to the clinical features associated with them and the surgical approach adopted. Results:83% of our patients presented with anosmia at the time of diagnosis....

Abstract: Background: Mast cells with a battery of crucial chemical mediators in their typical metachromatic granules are known to play a role in health and various disease states in man. This study was undertaken to evaluate the mast cell profile in peripheral nerve tumors. Materials & Methods: The present study was carried out in the Department of Pathology, M R medical college, Gulbarga in all newly diagnosed peripheral nerve cell tumors. Sections were stained with H&E and 1% aqueous toluidine blue (pH=4) for mast cells. The mast cell count was performed per 10 HPF, tabulated, analyzed and statistically evaluated.....

Abstract: Background: : FOB plays a major role in the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer. It is a minimally invasive procedure with high diagnostic yield. Various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures can be done via bronchoscope. Materials and Methods: It is a retrospective observational study done over a period of 18 months in 103 patients. All the clinical details were noted and FOB findings were noted and the reports of bronchial washings, brushings and biopsy were collected and analysed. Results: : Males constituted 65% of the study population. The mean age was 57.23 years. The most common symptom was cough in 79.6% of the patients. 53.39% showed mass lesion on chest X-ray. Out of 103 patients, 55 patients had findings on......

Abstract: Schwannomas are solitary and encapsulated tumours attached to or surrounded by nerve, although paralysis of the associated nerve is unusual(1). Schwannoma is a mesenchymal tumour that is mainly located in the peripheral nerves or the central nervous system. Its retroperitoneal location is rare and commonly asymptomatic. Thus, it is usually diagnosed when imaging tests are performed for other purposes. The clinical course of Schwannoma is benign but it also has malignant potential. Therefore, surgical resection is the treatment of choice. The definitive diagnosis is anatomopathological.....

Abstract: Background: Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a modern modality for healing of wounds. But there is paucity in the studies demonstrating the efficacy of PRP with no consensus about its efficacy in healing as compared to conventional methods. As healing of acute ulcers is mainly dependent on local therapy, we performed to this study to study the efficacy of PRP in healing of acute ulcers Aims and objectives: Aim of the study is to study the efficacy of PRP in healing of acute ulcers. Objectives: to assess the healing rate, to assess the time taken for complete healing/ ulcer eligible for grafting and to note complications or adverse effects during the study. Materials and methods: a single......

Abstract: Introduction: While planning treatment an orthodontist must keep in mind that the soft tissues of the nose, lips and chin has a great impact on the overall facial appearance of a person. If the prominence and length of nose and position of lips and chin is acceptable to the patient, it must be made sure that it remains the same way even after orthodontic treatment. Moreover some orthodontic procedures like extractions, orthognathic surgery, rapid maxillary expansion, and facemask therapy has an effect on the nasal morphology, position of lips and chin. So this study was carried out to assess all these factors while planning treatment. Aims and objectives: To assess the role of nasal soft tissues, lips and chin position while treatment planning during camouflage therapy for Class II and Class III cases and to decide whether to go for extraction or non extraction therapy.......

Abstract: Introduction: The external gonial angle is an important angle of the craniofacial complex. It is significant for the diagnosis of craniofacial disorders. Lateral and anteroposterior projections are mostly used when cephalometric measurements are made from radiographs. However, because of the interference of superimposed images appearing on the lateral cephalograms, reliable measurements of the individual gonial angles become very difficult, particularly when planning any type of jaw surgery. This disadvantage is not encountered in orthopantomography which is being used increasingly for jaw examination. Aims and objectives: The main purpose of this article is to assess and compare the quantification of gonial angle from panoramic radiographs and lateral cephalograms in adult patients with different malocclusion groups and also to determine any gender difference in gonial angle measurements. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out by including a total sample of 60 subjects with 20 subjects in each Class I, Class II and Class......
