Abstract: Background: Yoga is an ancient Indian philosophy and a way of life. Yoga is a mind-body practice involving different techniques such as physical postures (Asanas), controlled breathing (Pranayamas), deep relaxation (Yoganidra), and meditation. From the yogic point of view, the human body is comprised of five sheaths, which accounts for the different dimensions of human existence. These five shealths are known as pancha koshas namely Annamaya kosha, Pranamaya kosha, Manomaya kosha, Vijnanamaya kosha, and Anandamaya kosha. This study aims at understanding the effect of integrated yoga practice on all these Five Sheaths (pancha koshas) of the human body.........

Abstract: Background :Mediastinal cavity (anterior middle and posterior mediastinum) harbours many vital organs, nerves and vessels of the body and hence can give rise to various mass lesions arising from those organs, both benign and malignant. According to percentage of incidence lymphomas and germ cell tumor top the list.Even though imaging helps to localise the lesion histopathological examinations in the form of image guided trucut biopsy still happens to be the gold standard. However, early diagnosis of these lesions along with further categorisation and grading needs to be done promptly to start treatment and benefit the patients. This study presents an array of such cases with special emphasis to mediastinal lymphoma and their clinico pathologic correlation over a small period of time........

Abstract: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer are the most common prostate diseases, where BPH occurs in at least 70% of men aged 70 years, while prostate cancer is one of the most common malignancy that occurs in men around the world. Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine that can suppress pro-inflammatory cytokines. IL-10 is secreted by Th2 cells, and its production is involved in the regulation of the immune and inflammatory responses. TGF-β1 is a multi-function peptide with anti-tumorigenesis affect. TGF-β1 is known to act as an inhibitor in normal growth and early stage diseases and promoters in advanced prostate cancer. In Indonesia, until now there has been no study on the difference between IL-10 levels and TGF-β1 levels in patients with prostate cancer and BPH. This study used an analytic observational design with a cross sectional approach. The control group is the group that does not experience BPH and prostate cancer........

Abstract: Amoebic liver abscess is a common problem in India. It represents the most common non-enteric complication of amoebic infection. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment of an amoebic liver abscess results in low morbidity and mortality, whereas late diagnosis is associated with higher incidence of complications and a relatively high fatality rate.' The use of ultrasound for diagnosis and guiding the aspiration needle has reduced the incidence of patients requiring laparotomy. Recently the role of percutaneous aspiration in the management of amoebic liver abscess has been doubted.2 Only a few controlled trials of needle aspiration have been carried out.'-4 The present study was undertaken to evaluate the role of ultrasound-guided needle aspiration in the treatment of amoebic liver abscess....

Abstract: Aims and objective: Quantitative comparison of the efficacy between Butterworth and Metz filters applied in quantitative Myocardial SPECT perfusion study. Materials and Methods: An algorithm has been established, based on 17 segment model with the help of which the site of coronary artery obstruction can be localised . .Each of the raw myocardial SPECT images of the 30 patients under study were filtered before reconstruction by Butterworth and Metz filter respectively. Thereafter, two sets of algorithm from 17 segment model were generated from each of the two sets of filtered images from every patient. ,since coronary angiography is still being considered as the gold standard to localize anatomical position of coronary arterial obstruction, we have compared the calculated results obtained, following application of algorithm to both Butterworth filtered image and Metz filtered image with the angiographic findings.........

Abstract: Galton (1892) and Wilder (1902) were the first to study the hereditary basis of dermal patterns, suggesting that these ridge patterns are under genetic influence. AB ridge count had been linked with Schizophrenia. It is believed that in schizophrenics the number of AB ridge count is reduced. A number of studies have examined dermatoglyphic A-B ridge count as a possible marker for developmental disturbance in schizophrenia.......

Abstract: BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to determine the correlation of histopathology and clinical OLP and OLL diagnosis and which histopathologic criteria could best distinguish the OLP and OLL. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The retrospective study group comprised 60 patients who were referred to the Department of Oral Medicine Govt. dental college Srinagar. Diagnosis was based on clinical examination and medical and dental history, intake of drugs, and duration of the lesions. Only patients who underwent biopsy were included in the study. The clinical diagnosis of OLP was established in 50 patients (34 females; 16 males; ratio f/m = 2.12:1), while in 10 patients OLL was......

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: QT prolongation during acute coronary syndrome (acute myocardial infarction and unstable angina) predicts ventricular tachyarrhythmia's 1 and sudden death. Inter lead variations in QT interval reflect regional variations in ventricular repolarisation2. Increased dispersion of ventricular recovery time is believed to provide a substrate that supports serious ventricular arrhythmias3,5. In patient of acute myocardial infarction, Thrombolytic therapy is the cornerstone of treatment & is closely related to early reestablishment of coronary blood flow. In addition to effects on mechanical function, effects of reperfusion therapy on electrical stability are of interest6,8,9. The present study is designed to analyse QT dispersion variation in patient of acute coronary syndrome & the effect of thrombolysis (streptokinase therapy) on QT dispersion that predicts unfavourable outcome.......
