Abstract: Introduction: Overweight and Obesity represent a rapidly growing threat to populations' health in an increasing number of countries. Indeed they are now so common that they replace more traditional problems such as undernutrition and infectious diseases as the most significant causes of ill health. Childhood obesity is associated with a higher chance of obesity, premature death, and disability in adulthood. Hence, this study assessed the prevalence and determinants of Obesity among adolescent school children Methods: 1484 school children from private school In Nellore city participated in the study. A simple random sampling technique was used for sampling the study. Data was collected using a pre-designed and pre-tested questionnaire. Anthropometric measurements of height and........

Abstract: Background: Infertility is a major life crisis which can lead to the development of psychiatric symptoms and negative effects on the quality of life of affected females, but the magnitude of the effects may vary depending on cultural expectations. Aim: To assess the sociodemographic variables and measures of depression and anxiety as predictors of psychiatric morbidity in infertile women compared to controls. Materials & Methods: The present cross-sectional study was conducted in Dept. Of Psychiatry, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur. The sample comprised of 30 infertile females (Group I) attending OPD of Dept. of Reproductive Medicine, MGH and fulfilling the specific inclusion and exclusion criteria were included in the study. 30 healthy females........

Abstract: Endodontics is a unique branch in dentistry that often deals with endodontic emergencies. In the course of this COVID-19 pandemic, Emergency Root Canal Treatment is often needed to treat symptomatic irreversible pulpitis with or without space infections. Since dental practitioners cannot often maintain a safe interpersonal distance of more than a meter and are exposed to saliva, blood, and other body fluids during surgical operations, they are especially vulnerable to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Furthermore, many dental procedures produce aerosol, increasing the risk of contamination spread through the breath. The aim of this paper is to provide dentists with realistic advice based on recent research that may be helpful in reducing the risk of COVID-19 spreading during clinical practice.

Abstract: Success criteria for implants depends on numerous host factors, mechanical factors, biologic factors etc. Mobility, pain, radiolucency, and peri-implant bone loss (> 1.5 mm) were criteria to be evaluated for success at implant level, and suppuration and bleeding for success at the peri-implant soft-tissue level. Similarly, the occurrence of technical complications/prosthetic maintenance, adequate function, and esthetics during the five-year period were criteria for success at prosthetic level. The criteria at patient satisfaction level were discomfort and paresthesia, satisfaction with appearance, and ability to chew/taste.[1]This review article analyses the type and importance of fixture abutment interface position, platform switching and biomechanical factors on prognosis.

Abstract: Introduction: Health literacy concerns everyone involved in health promotion and protection, disease prevention and early screening, health care and maintenance, and policymaking. Healthcare is the primary and first element in evaluating Health Literacy. Health Literacy assessment in general and in the healthcare field, particularly in the community in Vietnam, is still limited, especially in the South, Vietnam.
Objective: This study determined the rate of people in Trang Bom Town, Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province in 2019 with sufficient health literacy and related factors.
Methodology: Cross-sectional descriptive study surveyed 356 permanent residents in Trang Bom town during the study by questionnaires HLS-Asia.......

Abstract: Background: Changes in thyroid function in normal pregnancy are well – documented but in complicated pregnancy like preeclampsia, very little is known. Although pregnancy is usually associated with mild hypothyroidism, preeclamptic patients have higher incidence of hypothyroidism that might correlate with the severity of the condition. Maternal hypothyroidism is the most common disorder of thyroid function in pregnancy and is associated with fetal effects such as fetal loss, preterm birth, low birth weight, increased neonatal respiratory distress, low intelligence quotient (IQ) of off-springs and adverse maternal outcomes such as pregnancy induced hypertension, postpartum haemorrhage and placental abruption. Studies have shown evidences of hypothyroidism in preeclampsia necessitating........

Abstract: Introduction-88% of the adolescent girls suffer from primary dysmenorrhea (PD) within first 2 years of menarche. Increased levels of PG's especially PGF2α is said to be the prime reason behind PD. With rise in the adolescent obesity globally leading to early age of menarche (AOM), the young girl is subjected to the discomforts of PD earlier.
Material and methodology-A cross-sectional study was conducted on 210 adolescent girls from different schools of Gwalior to find the correlation between PD and BMI. The participants' anthropometric measurements were taken and were asked to fill a questionnaire regarding the PD and the menstrual details. The pain scoring was done by NRS. The participants were divided according to the Revised IAP BMI charts.
Results-Prevalence of PD was found to be 70% and higher BMI was associated with greater prevalence and severity of pain. BMI was strongly correlated with MPS (r=0.72)......

Abstract: Currently, there are large numbers of commercial biomedical materials that are available for therapeutic and regenerative medicine. These biomaterials are frequently applied in orthopedic, trauma, maxillofacial, and dental fields. The importance of Halal pharmaceuticals and healthcare products has recently been emphasized; however, this issue has been largely neglected in the past. Although the Halal issue has been given priority in food industries to fulfill the Islamic regulations, little attention is made to the application of Halal healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and biomedical materials. Unfortunately, the availability of non-Halal biomaterials has been largely neglected and there is no well-known........

Abstract: Aim: Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness in the world, of which primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) is the most common form. POAG is most often detected at late stages when severe irreversible damage has already occurred. Early detection and treatment are important to prevent vision loss from glaucoma. My study aimed at finding the association between POAG and various risk factors thought to be associated with POAG. Methodology: Study design was a case control study, using appropriate statistical formula, size of the study population was determined. Results: Majority of cases belonged to 61–70-year age group. There was no significant difference in gender among the cases. Only 37% of.......

Abstract: Proptosis, the forward protrusion of the eyeball, is a common manifestation of a wide variety of diseases inside the orbit and its spaces. Its diagnosis is usually a combined effort of the ophthalmologist, otolaryngologist, neurosurgeon, and radiologist. This is a case of 24 years old male patient who presented to the OPD with gradually progressive proptosis and diminished of left eye in the last three months, associated with left sided nasal block and diffuse swelling over the left cheek. A detailed ophthalmic clinical examination was done including Exophthalmometry. ENT examination revealed the swelling to be bony growth of maxillary bone, biopsy of which was taken and tissue sent for histopathological examination. The diagnosis of Osteosarcoma of left maxillary bone was established from the histopathology and immunohistochemistry reports, supported by radiological reports. Case was referred to higher centre for Left maxillectomy, orbital exenteration and post-operative radiotherapy..
