Abstract: The present study was conducted in the Post Graduate Department of Anatomy, Government Medical College , Srinagar to observe the variations in the branching pattern of brachial artery. The aim of this study was to make clinicians, nurses as well as paramedical staff academically wiser and practically more competent while dealing with these anomalous branches during surgery and other interventional procedures. 30 upper limbs were studied. 16 limbs were dissected for routine teaching during 2015-2017 and 14 wet anatomical specimens were taken and observations regarding the branching pattern of brachial artery were recorded simultaneously. It was observedin our study that brachial artery divided high up in one left upper limb i.e. it was superficial or high up division. This anomalous branching pattern.......

Abstract: Aim :To evaluate the efficacy and safety of bandage contact lens in various corneal disorders Background: Therapeutic contact lenses are important tools for the treatment of ocular surface disease and other corneal conditions. Bandage contact lenses protect the cornea from environmental conditions and counter the abrasive effects of the patient's own eyelids. Using these lenses can help repair tissue, manage pain, and maintain visual acuity. Materials and Methods: Bandage contact lens was applied to patients who required corneal re-epithelialization promotion or pain reduction in various corneal disorders from January 2019to April 2020 at Department of ophthalmology,MLB Medical college and hospital,Jhansi.Informed written consents were obtained. Bandage contact lens was applied in the diseased eye. Lens centration and movement was assessed with slit-lamp. Patients were evaluated the next day and then on weekly basis for improvement of ocular condition or occurrence of any complication. After 1 week the........

Abstract: The aim of this study was to determine the influence of dialysis duration on oral conditions among Moroccan hemodialysis (HD) patients. A cross-sectional study based on data collected from HD patients treated at two different dialysis centers in Morocco. The medical file of each patient was reviewed. The cause of renal failure was recorded and the oral cavity was examined for plaque deposit, gingivitis, periodontitis and dental caries using plaque index (PI) and gingival index (GI) of Silliness and Löe, and decayed, missing or filled teeth (DMFT), respectively. The condition of the oral mucosa and other oral lesion was recorded. In order to determine the effect of the duration of HD on oral conditions, patients were divided into two groups: (1) those that have been on dialysis for less than 5 years, (2) those that have been......

Abstract: Background and Objectives: Intertrochanteric fracture is one of the most common fractures of the hip especially in the elderly. These fractures are three to four times more common in women and the mechanism of injury is usually due to low-energy trauma like a simple fall. More than 50% of intertrochanteric fractures are unstable. The surgical stabilization of unstable intertrochanteric fractures remains a persistent challenge. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and drawbacks of the cephalomedullary Nail in the management of unstable intertrochanteric fractures.
Methodology: This study is a prospective, time bound, hospital based study conducted at Saint Raphael Hospital, between October 2017 to November 2018.......

Abstract: Odontoid process' fracture is the most common post-traumatic upper cervical spine fracture, the classification of these fractures, proposed in 1974 by Anderson & D'Alonzo, remains the most widespread because of its simplicity and its prognostic value. This retrospective study includes 35 patients treated for odontoid fracture in our neurosurgery department at the EHS of Cherchel between 2015 and 2021. The circumstances of the trauma were dominated by road accidents .The clinical presentation was dominated by neck pain in 100% of cases, 06 cases with tetra paresis. All the patients were previously explored by a simple x-ray of the cervical spine, a CT scan and a cervical MRI. According to Anderson and Alonzo classification, 35 patients classified as Anderson Alonzo Type II (25 type IIB cases and 10 type.......

Abstract: Trapeze flap is a technique in releasing the contractures following burns at joints. Often, in joint contractures, the contractural band, confined to either to medial or lateral side with tenting of nearby normal tissue is observed restricting the movement of the joint desired. Many procedures are applied ranging from release with split thickness skin grafting to free tissue transfer with their own merits and demerits. Here, we are sharing 8 cases, where the technique of 'Trapeze' flap applied at various occasions over joints to release post burn contractures with satisfactory outcome......

Abstract: Platelet aggregates has been used in surgery for many years. The primary goal of these 'Autologous Preparation' was to aggregate platelets and their growth factors and to convey it to a surgical site, to improve healing only. The latest research work shows that the PRF also can be used for Protection of Graft, neoangiogenesis, vascularization locally and release of various growth factors apart from healing.
Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is considered as the new generation of platelet concentrate. "Choukroun's PRF" or Leucocyte PRF (L-PRF) is the new development, which was first developed by Choukroun's et al. in 2001 as an 'Autologous biomaterial.' A systematic literature search was performed to identify relevant articles that describes the use of PRF, through PubMed and Scopus....
