Abstract: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES:The number of people living with HIV/AIDS is on the rise, so are the problems like renal dysfunction which needs to be addressed. The study was aimed at providing data regarding prevalence and the association of certain modifiable and non-modifiable factors with renal function. MATERIALS AND METHODS:This was a cross sectional study on 390 HIV positive subjects. Renal function was assessed by means of eGFR, calculated using Cockcroft-Gault equation, and proteinuria, estimated by spot urine albumin creatinine ratio (UACR). Renal dysfunction was identified by either eGFR<60 ml/min or UACR>30 mg/gm. The data was analyzed based on demographic characteristics, type and duration on ART, height, weight, body mass index, CD4 count........
Key words : HIV Seropositivity; Renal Insufficiency; Proteinuria;CD4 Cell Count

Abstract: Geriatric patients often face specific challenges related to oral health due to the natural aging process. As people age, they may experience changes in the oral cavity, such as decreased saliva production, alterations in the composition of saliva, and changes in the hard as well as soft tissues of the mouth, which can contribute to an increased risk of oral as well as periodontal diseases and that require periodontal management. The periodontal management of geriatric patients is a specialized aspect of dental care that focuses on addressing the unique periodontal health needs of older individuals and involves comprehensive care, preventive strategies, and tailored treatment plans to maintain or improve oral health. This article discusses the various physiologic changes occurring during the process of aging, emphasizing the methods for providing periodontal care and highlighting the importance of periodontal health education in this population.

Abstract: Introduction: The preferred method for several abdominal operations, such as cholecystectomy and appendicectomy, is now laparoscopic surgery. The advancement in laparoscopic techniques has led to the exploration of different knot-tying methods, among which Roeder's knot has gained attention for its simplicity and efficiency. This research aims to investigate the analysis of Roeder's knot in laparoscopic appendicectomy and laparoscopic cholecystectomy, focusing on its clinical outcomes and early complications. Methods and Materials: From January 2020 to December 2021, the Department of Surgery at Jahurul Islam Medical College & Hospital in Kishorgonj, Bangladesh, conducted an experimental investigation. Purposively, 100 patients who were hospitalized in the Surgery ward and were undergoing laparoscopic appendicectomy and cholecystectomy were included in this study. SPSS Version 23.0 and MS Office programs were used for data analysis............
