Title | : | A Retrospective Study on the Utility of GRACE and TIMI Score to Predict Coronary Revascularization among Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome |
Country | : | India |

Abstract: GRACE and TIMI score are risk stratification tools that are able to predict the short term and long term mortality in patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). There is insufficient evidence from the literature on the value of risk scores in predicting need for coronary revascularization. Hence, we performed the study to assess the utility of GRACE and TIMI score to predict the requirement for coronary revascularization. A total of 515 patients with ACS participated in the study. Patients with co-morbid medical conditions were excluded. Baseline characteristics of all the patients were recorded...........

Title | : | Biochemical Significance of EDTA in Human Physiology |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Aanchal Garg || Dhruv Garg || Dinesh K. Garg |
Abstract: Ethylene Diamine Tetra-acetic Acid (EDTA) has great significance in human physiology to cure myocardial, atherosclerosis, occlusive peripheral arterial disease and cholesterol metabolism. Many medical researcher's/ scientist's and also clinical practitioners around the world have great interest to cure such problems at low dose without bypass surgery. Many medical researchers/ scientist says that the bypass surgery does not cure the patients and does not remove the actual causes of the problems and does not prevent the heart attacks. EDTA can greatly reduce the release of free radicals which develops as a Bi-products of oxidation-reduction in metabological reactions..........

Title | : | Preference of General Anaesthesia or Regional Anaesthesia for Appendicectomy Among Medical And Paramedical Staff in A Rural Hospital |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Krishan Lal Garg || Manju Bala || Priyanka Bansal || K C Khanduri || Anee || M.L. Khatri |
Abstract: We surveyed seventy medical and paramedical personals at SGT Medical College Hospital Budhera , Gurgaon , Haryana ( India ) to know their preferred technique of anaesthesia for appendicectomy surgery and to determine the frequency of various reasons of preference of a particular technique. Participants were interviewed according to a structured questionnaire and allowed to select one option. Forty three participants expressed their preference for Regional Anesthesia ( RA). Most common reason for their preference was safety associated with RA. Remaining twenty seven participants showed their preference for General Anaesthesia ( GA ). The main reason for their preference for GA was fear of remaining awake under regional anaesthesia. This survey may help to promote patient centered care in department of anesthesiology

Abstract: The aim of the study was comparison of multifocal IOLs with the current standard mono-focal IOLs in Senile Cataract undergoing surgery with phacoemulsification in respect to visual acuity (uncorrected and best corrected for both distant and near). Materials and Methods: This was a prospective randomized study at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Hyderabad from September 2013 to September 2014, in 50 patients of senile cataract. The study group was divided randomly into two groups with 25 patients in each group. All the in the study group underwent phacoemulsification with implantation............

Abstract: One of today's reliable treatment option to replace both anterior and posterior missing teeth,is an implant therapy due to its excellent esthetics and function.Replacement of single tooth,multiple missing teeth and complete edentulous cases or abutment of partial or complete dentures can be well achieved by dental implant therapy. The purpose of this case study is to briefly focusing on guidelines of placing a single-tooth dental implant in esthetic area with a high clinical and technical sensitivity for patient who missed his central left incisor and to communicate the outcomes of the case with other dental professionals...........

Title | : | Prevalence of Hypothyroidism in Patients with Metabolic Syndrome |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr. Rakesh kumar |
Abstract: Background: Metabolic syndrome (MS) and hypothyroidism are well known risk factors for atherosclerotic cardiovascu¬lar disease (ASCVD). Insulin resistance is a common pathogenic mechanism in both, and may result in to significant convergence between MS and hypothyroid population. Aims and Objective: The present study was done to evaluate the relation between hypothyroidism in patients with MS. Materials and Methods: One hundred patients with MS selected according to WHO criteria were studied in present study. Patients were evaluated based on anthropometry, evaluation of vital parameters, lipid and thyroid profile............

Title | : | A Study on Prognostic Significance of Serum Ferritin in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke |
Country | : | |
Authors | : | Dr.K.Egovindarajulu Md || Dr.A.T.Maaran Md || Dr.P.Prathiba || Dr.P.R.Saiprashanth |
Abstract: As per World Health Organization , Stroke is defined as a clinical syndrome consisting of 'rapidly developing clinical signs of focal (at times global) disturbance of cerebral function, with duration lasting more than 24 hours or leading to death with no apparent cause other than that of vascular origin'. A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is defined as stroke symptoms and signs that resolve within 24 hours. The above definition do not include retinal symptoms (sudden onset of monocular loss), which should be considered as part of the definition of stroke and TIA. A non-disabling stroke is defined as a stroke with symptoms that last for more than 24hours but later resolve, without any permanent disability. This definition includes stroke due to cerebral infarction, primary intra cerebral hemorrhage (PICH), intra ventricular hemorrhage, and subarachnoid hemorrhage

Title | : | Evaluation of Axial Length –Anterior Chamber Depth (AXLACD) Factor As A New Biometric Tool for Diagnosis And Prognosis of Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Shrikant Waikar |
Abstract: Aim: Evaluation of axial length –central anterior chamber depth (AXL-ACD) factor as an objective assessment tool for diagnosis and prognosis of primary angle closure glaucoma .(PACG) Patients and methods: 116 eyes of 58 newly diagnosed cases with primary angle closure configurations (PACC) were evaluated. Refraction , gonioscopy , intraocular pressure recording, axial length and central anterior chamber depth was recorded. AXL-ACD factor was calculated. Comparison with controls and correlation with presence of peripheral anterior synechiae (PAS) was carried out...............

Abstract: Aims and objectives : The present study aims to establish the role and utility of color Doppler as a non invasive method in the diagnosis of unilateral acute renal obstruction 1.To study the utility of color Doppler in the diagnosis of unilateral acute renal obstruction. 2.To compare the color Doppler study with IVP. Material And Methods: The study was carried out on 30 patients who was referred to the Ultrasound with symptoms of acute unilateral renal obstruction. All patients underwent color doppler ultrasound with convex probe (3.5-5 MHz). The mean RI of the affected kidney and delta RI between the affected and the normal kidneys are correlated and compared with intravenous pyelography as the standard test.............

Abstract: Post operative wound infection is considered as a surgeon's nightmare. Before the mid - 19th century, surgical patients commonly developed post operative purulent discharge from their incisions, followed by overwhelming sepsis, and often death. It was not until the late 1860s, after Joseph Lister introduced the principles of antisepsis that postoperative infections morbidity decreased substantially
