Title | : | Robertsonian Translocation Between Chromosome Number 13 And 14 Associated With Recurrent Pregnancy Loss |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Saba N || Verma Rk || Rani A || Kumar N || Singh U || Faheem M |
Abstract: introduction- Spontaneous miscarriage of a developing embryo may be due to the presence of rearrangements in parental chromosome set. The most common structural rearrangement involved in multiple abortions is chromosomal translocation. Robertsonian translocation shows the fusion of two acrocentric chromosomes, near the centromere region with loss of the short arms and it is found to be associated with recurrent pregnancy loss. Banding patterns has been the primary tool for the clinical assessment of patients to study chromosomal analysis from peripheral blood lymphocytes of cases with repeated pregnancy loss..........

Abstract: Malignant germ cell ovarian tumors (MOGCTs) represent less than 20% of ovarian cancers. We conducted a retrospective study of 16 cases of (MOGCTs) diagnosed from January 2008 to December 2013. Results: During this time 26 cases of non epithelial ovarian malignancy were diagnosed which 16 are germinal tumors 61%. The age of patients ranged from 16 to 60 years. Abdominal mass was the principal symptom, it was present in 2/3 of cases (66%). All patients were surgically assessed with ovariectomy that was associated with hysterectomy in two patients. Chemotherapy was administered in 15 patients and BEP was the commonest regimen used. After a mean follow up of 25 months we obtained a clinical, biological and radiologic complete remission in 1/3 of cases, 3 recurrences , 2 deaths............

Abstract: Posterior capsular opacification(pco) is the most frequent complication of cataract surgery anddevelops from residual lens epithelial cells that undergo proliferation,migration,metaplasia and differentiation in the capsular bag after cataract surgery.patients with PCO have decreased visual visual acuity, loss of contrast sensitivity, and in some cases, PCO precludes examination of the posterior segment. The incidence of PCO is reported to be 20-50% 5 years after cataract surgery in the general population and has been reported to occur in 100% of pediatric patients. Recently, primary posterior capsulorhexis (PPCC) has been proposed to prevent PCO in adults...........
