Abstract: Background: Anomalous origin of multiple coronary ostia from a single coronary sinus are very rare findings. Proficiency in the anatomy of coronary arteries and their variations is significant for proper interpretation of the coronary angiographies, assessment of the complexity and result of coronary insufficiency as well as surgical myocardium revascularization. Anomalous coronary ostia has severe clinical manifestation including sudden death in young athelets so taking into consideration its importance this study is carried out to study in detail the normal and variant anatomy of coronary ostia and its clinical significance in the living subjects. Method: This study is carried out in 50 embalmed human hearts by fine dissection method with the help of pointed forceps. We find out origin of multiple ostia of coronary arteries from a single coronary sinus. The courses of arteries arising from these anomalous ostia are also studied in detailed..............

Abstract: Introduction: Chronic suppurative otitis media is one of the most common infectious disease worldwide. Also its known for its recurrence and persistence despite adequate treatment. It is caused by a wide variety of microorganisms, both aerobic and anerobic. To add on to it, there is emergence of specific antibiotic resistance due to inadvertent use of these drugs. Aims And Objectives Of The Study: This study is a hospital based study aimed at re-evaluating the current bacteriological profile of chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) and the sensitivity pattern to most of the currently available antibiotics...........

Abstract: Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. Hyperglycemia along with hyperlipidemia leads to microvascular and macrovascular complications of diabetes mellitus. Leptin is an adipose tissue derived hormone which primarily acts on hypothalamus to regulate hunger and satiety. The aim of this study is to see the leptin levels in non-obese diabetes mellitus patients and its association with chronic complications. The difference in serum leptin levels among gender in the...........

Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of skull radiograph alone in young children in screening of skeletal dysplasias and dysostoses in comparison with whole skeletal survey. It is a retrospective study which includes 1000 high risk children who undergone whole skeletal survey. 20 patients were diagnosed as dysplasia/dysostoses out of which 18 patients had skull abnormalities. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value for skull Xray alone was 90%,100%,100% and 99.8% respectively in making correct diagnosis. Two patients who was diagnosed as chondrodysplasia punctata had no skull abnormalities. In high risk...........

Abstract: Background: The increase in type 2 diabetes is directly related to the environmental risk factors, especially overweight and obesity, which superimposed on genetic predisposition results in progressive beta cell failure and insulin resistance. The relative risk for type 2 Diabetes increases as the Body mass index increases. Objective: 1. To assess the effect of various grades of obesity on type 2 Diabetes mellitus. 2. To correlate the effect of dyslipidemia as a consequence of obesity on type 2 DM. Materials and Methods: About 200 subjects were included in the study. The subjects were divided into 2 groups: Group 1 – 100 obese individuals (Obese normal + Obese Diabetic) and Group 2 – 100 non obese individuals ( Non obese normal + Non obese Diabetic). The body mass index was correlated with blood sugar and lipid profile. Statistical analysis were done using students unpaired t test........

Abstract: Several extraction techniques exist for extraction of upper premolar teeth, but proper selection of an appropriate instrument and technique requires understanding of the impact of manipulating the basic principles of extraction for individual cases. We recommend the below mentioned technique for extraction of upper premolar teeth, hence making extraction a doctor and patient friendly procedure.

Abstract: Periapical surgery is the last resort of the treatment option in the presence of a large periapical granuloma or cyst and the first line idea is to remove periapical pathosis to achieve absolute wound healing and regeneration of soft and hard tissue including periodontium. Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is a second generation platelet concentration with its greater potency in wound healing and aids in accelerated bone regeneration as it is rich in plenty of growth factors to achieve the structural and functional rehabilitation of the defect. This case report enlightens the use of PRF in early bone regeneration after curetting the lesion in anterior maxilla as a regenerative therapy adjunct to periapical surgery.

Abstract: Ovarian reserve plays a crucial role in achieving pregnancy following any treatment in subfertile women. The estimation of ovarian reserve is routinely performed through various ovarian reserve tests (ORTs) in an effort to predict the response and outcome in couples prior to In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and counsel them. Most widely used tests are estimation of basal follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) and antral follicle count (AFC). In our routine practice the role of different biochemical parameters to estimate ovarian reserve of subfertile women is discussed in this article..

Abstract: Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformations(CCAM) are rare developmental anomalies of the lung occurring in 1-4/100,000 live birth. It arises from excessive disorganized proliferation of tubular bronchial structures. It is a disease of infancy with most of the cases diagnosed within first 2 years of life. We report a case of congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation (CCAM) type1 in 5yrs old male child with features of respiratory distress.

Abstract: Background:Folate is a water-soluble B vitamin that is naturally present in some foods, added to others, and available as a dietary supplement. The changes caused in gastric juice by H. pylori-induced gastritis, which can result in inadequate folate status. Objective: The purpose of this study was todetermine the association between Helicobacter Pylori infection and Serum Folatelevels. Materials and Methods: One hundred and twenty samples were included (60 samples of h.pylori infected individuals, and 60 samples of healthy individuals as control) all of them were evaluated to determine serum folate levels using Electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Results:Mean serum folate levels was significantly reduced among cases than the controls. Conclusion: The findings indicate that serum folate levels decreased in patients with H.pylori.
