Abstract: Difficulties in diagnosing acute appendicitis in a very young, elderly and female patients of reproductive age is due to their atypical presentation.Often these imaging studies involve learning curve and also infrastructure. there is always a need for a clinical acumen in diagnosing such a acute condition to avoid morbidity. Many scoring systems for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis have been tried, but most of these are complex and not feasible in emergency setting. The modified Alvarado scoring system has been shown by recent studies to be easy, simple and cheap diagnostic tool for supporting..............

Abstract: Objectives: 1. Analyzing the histo-pathological pattern of endometrium in abnormal uterine bleeding. 2. Categorizing the patients according to histo-pathological report for further management. 3. To study the efficacy of medical management (Mainly Progestins). Materials and methods: A prospective and observational study was done in Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad, Telangana. Total 100 cases of perimenopausal women (40-54 yrs) with abnormal uterine bleeding were studied during the period of 2 years from NOV 2012 to SEP 2014. D and C was done after making a clinical diagnosis of AUB in these women...............

Abstract: Dental implants represent one of the most successful treatment modalities in dentistry. However, failures do occur in the range from 5 to 8% for routine procedures and up to 20% in major grafting cases after at least 5 years of function . The majority of implant losses may be explained as biomechanically induced failures, since low primary implant stability, low bone density, short implants and overload have been identified as risk factors . Hence, achievement and maintenance of implant stability are pre-conditions for a successful clinical outcome with dental implants.

Abstract: The development of Endoscopic Sinus Surgery in the late 70s (Austria 1970s) had lead to huge strides in the understanding of paranasal sinus anatomy, knowledge in the pathogenesis of sinus diseases and the treatment of chronic Rhinosinusitis. Rhinosinusitis is one of the most common chronic adult health problems in the Western world with a recent European study estimating the prevalence of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) at 11%1 Specialized and specifically designed instruments guided by illuminated telescopes which project highly improved and magnified images to monitors are used to visualize the internal architecture of the nose and paranasal sinuses. This has greatly enhanced the appreciation...................

Abstract: There has been a paradigm shift in the treatment protocols of acute pancreatitis over the past two decades from an early aggressive surgical treatment to a more conservative strategy. In this study, we assess the role of image guided percutaneous catheter drainage of peri-pancreatic fluid and necrotic collections in the management protocols of severe acute pancreatitis. On admission, all the cases were resuscitated with intravenous fluids, organ dysfunction management, analgesics and antibiotics. Supportive treatment was offered to those individuals who showed improvement when compared with their status during admission. Patients who developed (i) contaminated peripancreatic............

Abstract: Headphone usage is drastically increased nowadays with about 173 million users, especially among teenagers. The electromagnetic fields acquire importance due to symptoms like warmth, headache and fatigue. The purpose was to assess the possible deleterious effects of headphone usage on cognitive functions in both genders. The cognitive functions assessment was done using 60 undergraduate medical students between the age group of 18-21 yrs, using cognitive function tests like Mini mental status examination (MMSE), Wechsler Memory Scale (WMS-1&2), Letter Digit.............

Abstract: Background And Objectives: The method of pancreatic reconstruction after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) is closely associated with postoperative morbidity, mortality, and patient's quality of life. The objective of this study is to evaluate which anastomosis approach – pancreaticogastrostomy (PG) or Binding pancreaticojejunostomy (PJ), is a better option of choice in terms of postoperative complications. Materials and Methods: Patients subjected to this study were taken from General surgical & Surgical gastroenterology wards of Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai over a period of 18 months years from January 2015 to July 2016..............

Abstract: A community –based cross-sectional mixed method study, involving FGDs and cross sectional survey, was conducted in a village of West Bengal among 495 subjects of 15-49 years age group to assess the awareness about HIV/AIDS and attitude towards PLWHA. The study revealed that awareness about HIV/AIDS was not complete as inspite of higher level of knowledge about transmission and prevention of the disease, poor knowledge about STDs, PPTCT, nearest treatment facilities for the disease and appreciable level of misconceptions persisted across the population............

However, little direct experimental evidence supported use of vitamin E in improving the activities of daily life (ADL) in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Methods: Twenty rats divided into 3 groups; C: control; D: receivedAluminum chloride (Al) by gavage and d-galactose (D-gal) by injection; D+E: received Al and d-gal plusvit.E orally. Abstract: HIV/AIDS continues to be a major health and economic problem worldwide. By end of 2012, the national prevalence for Kenya was 5.6%. A number of interventions are in place including but not limited to upscale of antiretroviral (ARVs). Though these interventions have worked to improve the quality of life for the infected, there are challenges to be overcome owing to the high cost of the drugs, lack of proper distribution infrastructure, side effects leading to poor adherence and ultimately drug resistance to the three classes of the available ARVs. There have been concerted efforts to exploit the potential of herbal medicine in managing the pandemic. However this has been accompanied.........

Abstract: Neonatal sepsis is the most common infection encountered in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and forms the basis for the most of the studies conducted in NICU. The Proper management of these cases in NICU requires a through knowlwdge of the prevailing causativeorganisms and their antibiotic sensitivity/resistance patterns which decide the empiric therapy and may guide the neonatologist. Material and Method: All clinically suspected cases of Neonatal sepsis admitted to NICU from Jan 2016-Dec 2016 were included in the study. The data were analysed statistically. Abstract: The role of diet in the development of rickets was determined by Edward Mellany between1918-19201. In 1921, ELMER Mc Collum identified an anti-rachitic substance found in certain fats could prevent rickets2. Because the newly discovered substance was the fourth Vitamin identified, it was called Vitamin D. Vitamin D is a group of fat soluble pro-hormones, the two major forms of which are vitamin D2 (or ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3(or cholecalciferol) In India sub clinical vitamin D deficiency is wide spread in all age groups3,4. Dietary intakes of both calcium and vitamin D..............
