Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine and establish the relationship of fovea palatinae to anterior and posterior vibrating lines in completely edentulous patients.Materials and methods: One hundred and twenty completely edentulous patients were selected based on the inclusive and exclusive criteria. For each patient anterior, posterior vibrating lines and fovea palatinae were marked intraorally on edentulous maxillary arch and these markings were transferred to irreversible hydrocolloid impression. After pouring dental cast, digital vernier caliper was used to measure the distance between the midpoint of the fovea palatinae to anterior and posterior vibrating lines. Two examiners on every patient made all assessments independently and the measurements obtained were.......

Abstract: Serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC), an early lesion limited to the epithelium of the fallopian tube and firstly identified from specimen obtained by prophylactic salpingo-oophorectomy. Histopathological features of STIC include a variable combination of epithelial stratification, loss of cellular polarity, irregular luminal surface, pleomorphism, loss of cilia, nuclear rounding, increased nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio, prominent nucleoli and mitotic figures. Recently described lesions overexpressing p53 in the distal tubes of mutation carriers, and non carriers, have been proposed as histological precursors of high grade serous carcinoma (HGSC). A careful histological examination of ovaries and fallopian tubes prophylactically resected from BRCA1/BRCA2 mutation carriers has provided clues to the existence of cancer precursor lesions in women genetically predisposed to high grade serous carcinoma, and they have been identified not in the ovary, but in the distal tubal epithelium. Present study was undertaken to observe the histological changes in the fallopian tubal epithelium in various ovarian tumours.

Abstract: Glucose, amino acids and lactate are the principal energy substrates during fetal life. Hypoglycemiais one of the common metabolic hazards in neonatal medicine practice. The projected neonatal mortality rate for 2020 based on AARR from 2000-2012 is 22 per 1000 live births.1 It is possible that neonatal hypoglycemia arising as a consequence of fetal malnutrition, birth asphyxia, post natal hypothermia or infection could be responsible for some of unexplained neonatal death.2 There is an association between blood glucose level and neurological development. Our study involved 125 newbornsand blood glucose levels were estimatedat birth and at 72 hours by glucose oxidase method. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Department of Biochemistry in collaboration with Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology between September 2016 to August 2017.Blood sugar levels in preterm babies were lower than term babies at birth (63.71±15.62 and 69.38±16.53 mg/dl respectively) where findings were not statistically significant. But findings at 72 hours were found to be statistically significant (52.61±10.50 and 67.10±10.11 mg/dl). Incidence of hypoglycemia was 15.2%.............

Abstract: Background and Objectives: Chronic Kidney Disease is a worldwide health problem with an increasing incidence and prevalence. Abnormalities in the structure and function of the thyroid gland and in the metabolism and plasma concentration of thyroid hormones are common in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease. In view of variability of thyroid function tests in patients with CKD in previous studies, a prospective study of various thyroid functions is undertaken to establish a correlation if any between thyroid dysfunction and severity of renal diseases.......

Abstract: Toxoplasma gondii infection in pregnancy is associated with potentially tragic outcome in the foetus and newborn worldwide, despite it being preventable. The infection is acquired via ingestion of infected, undercooked meat or contaminated food or water or close contact with infected but asymptomatic cats. Transmission to the foetus occurs almost exclusively from the infected mothers during gestation resulting in congenital toxoplasmosis. Objective:- Study was conducted in 80 women with BOH, attending the antenatal clinic of the Burdwan Medical College & Hospital, West Bengal, India to determine the seropositivity of Ig M & Ig G antibodies of Toxoplasmosis, using commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay diagnostic kit. 20 antenatal women with previous history of normal deliveries acted as the controls. Results:- Of the 80 BOH ante-natal mothers.......

Abstract: Dental implants are rapidly gaining popularity in its use as fixed prosthesis. Implant impression is one of the most important steps in achieving passive fit by accurately relating an analogue of the implant or implant abutment to the other structures in the dental arch. Further the accuracy of impression is affected by the selection of impression tray, impression technique and type of impression material, number and angulation of implants. Here a brief overview of implant components and impression techniques is outlined.

Abstract: Introduction:The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of intrusive forces generated during the treatment of deep over-bite in Class II division 2 cases on root resorption, by using two different mechanics, mini-screw implants and intrusive archwire. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), was used in this study to determine the degree of root Resorption. Design: This study was done according to the CONSORT Statement adaptations for orthodontic trials , the study design is a single center randomized clinical trial, parallel design where participants were randomly assigned to either interventional or comparison group with a 1:1 allocation ratio. Participants: Fourteen Class II Division 2, deep bite cases, age range from 15-25 years, and having deep-bite of more than 5 mm, were recruited from the Outpatient..........

Abstract: Toberculosis is a common and major health hazard in India. Interstinal tuberculosis is still very common in India Intestinal tuberculosis either occurs as a primary from due to the ingestion of milk contaminated by bovine strain of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis or secondary to the pulmonary Tuberculosis the diagnosis of intestinal tuberculosis in early stage remains very difficult tuberculous strictures of the small bowel usually multiple, present as subacute or acute intestinal obstruction or chronic giving rise to malabsorption syndrome. Laparotomy is required for diagnosis and in cases with acute obstruction. A number of surgical procedure are available to deal with small bowel strictures but simples procedure is stricturoplasty. Abstract: We report a case of coexistence of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS) on the capillicium. Non-radical surgical removal of SCC with the same location has been performed 7 years ago. Local recurrency with additional neoplastic cells is observed. Wide surgical excision was our treatment of choice
