Abstract: Acrylic resins were introduced to dentistry in 1937 and for decades no materials has been found that matches the appearance of the oral tissues. Its overall performance is regarded as satisfactory and widely used for the construction of complete and partial dentures. Poly methylmethacrylate (PMMA) absorbs water slowly over a period of time. It has been estimated that for each 1 percent increase in weight due to the absorbed water acrylic resin expands linearly by 0.23%. Chemicals present in the water will also diffuse along with the water molecule and can even interact..........

Abstract: In recent years, increase in occurrence of road traffic accidents due to avoidance & ignorance of traffic safety rules, self fall due to suicidal tendency, assaults due to interpersonal violence, professional hazards due to poor working conditions etc. resulted in increase in number of mandibular fractures. Though there is various treatment modalities in respect to immobilize the fracture segment but open reduction and rigid or nonrigid fixation by miniplate or Primary reconstruction plate as per champys guideline is the best possible way for parasymphysis fractures.

Abstract: Atypical Mycobactrialinfection is gradually increasing day by day . Ranging from skin infection, it can produce different types of infection of different system like lung, disseminated infection in immunocompromised individual. Mycobacterium abscessus (M. abscessus) is a rapidly growing mycobacterial species which are ubiquitous in the environment and cause widespread infections. This study was conducted in a tertiary care hospital of Kolkata to isolate and identify Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) from wound swab sample from post-operative surgical site infection along with forming a treatment protocol for prevention of the same. 512 samples were........

It is a rare and neglected disease in our country3. Methods: A case of Eumycetoma of the axilla, presented with a clinical triad of tumefaction, draining sinuses and discharging granules in Dermatology Outpatient Department (OPD), King George Hospital (KGH) Visakhapatnam. Standard Mycological procedures for identification were done along with histopathological examination. Result: Patient was treated with antifungal drug, Itraconazole. Abstract: Background: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a common disorder, with possible psychosocial implications. It affects around 80% of men and 50% of women throughout their lifetime. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment has gained popularity among different surgical specialities for improving various conditions. Aim: In this prospective study efficacy of PRP in treating androgenetic alopecia is assessed Methods: A total of 28 cases of clinically diagnosed male and female patients with androgenetic alopecia in the age group of 18-45 years constituted the present study. Detailed history and clinical examination of cases was done. All the routine investigations were carried out. PRP injections were given to alopecia areas once in every four weeks for 5 times..........

Abstract: Proximal humerus fractures comprises about 4 to 5% of all fractures and its the most common humerus fracture, accounting about 45%1. Due to its metaphyseal location, it rarely goes for non union. More than 80% heal without surgical intervention but displaced, unimpacted surgical neck fractures are associated with higher incidence of non-union varying from less than 1% to as high as 23%. We report a case of 18-year-old male with non-union following fracture of left humerus.

Abstract: Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) are very rare soft-tissue sarcomas with an overall incidence of 0.001% in general population . It may develop de novo or it may develop as a result of malignant transformation of previous plexiform neurofibroma. Retroperitoneal cases are fairly rare and clinically difficult to be detected. MPNSTs affect adults aged 20–50 years and are typically connected to the main trunks of nerves. Most MPNSTs are aggressive and have high rates of recurrence. Only 1% of MPNST are retroperitoneal. In most cases the diagnosis depends on pathological and immunohistochemical studies. We here report a case of 60 yr...........

Abstract: Aim:- The aim of the study is to use shear modulus and sound touch elastosonography for retrospective study of 43 consecutive women with breast lumps to differentiate between malignant and benign lesions. Methods:- Elastosonography provides a noninvasive evaluation of the stiffness of a lesion. Strain and shear wave elastosonography improves the possibility of differentiating benign from malignant lesions there by limiting recourse to biopsy. Result:- The parameters of sound touch........

Abstract: Introduction: Renal cell carcinoma is by far the most common malignant tumor of the kidney and it accounts for 80-85% of malignant kidney tumors. All Renal cell carcinomas are adenocarcinomas derived from renal tubular epithelial cells. The prognosis of Renal cell carcinoma depends upon age, sex, race, tumor size, histological subtype, nuclear grade, distant metastasis and pathological staging. Material and Methods: The present study is both a retrospective and prospective study conducted at a tertiary care teaching hospital. Histopathological.......
