Abstract: Introduction: Varicocele, an abnormal dilatation and tortuosity of the pampiniformplexus of veins is found in about 15% of the general population with a marked left sided predominance. However this incidence rises to 35% in men with primary infertility and 70 to 80% in men with secondary infertility. We decided to conduct a prospective study to assess the value of varicocele ligation in improving the semen parameters in case of male infertility/subfertility and relief of symptoms following varicocelectomy in patients with painful varicocele. Material and Methods: A prospective study of 30 adult male patients suffering from unilateral /bilateral varicocele presenting with infertility.......

Abstract: Leiomyosarcoma is a malignant smooth-muscle tumour that has a predilection for the gastrointestinal and female genital tract. Sinonasal Leiomyosarcoma is exceptionally rare with no more than 100 cases reported in the English literature. It is locally fast-spreading and highly aggressive, and the prognosis is poor. We report a rare case of leiomyosarcoma of the nasal cavity in a 74-year-old woman who presented a swelling at the root of the nose. The histopathological and immunohistochemical studies confirmed that it was leiomyosarcoma. The patient underwent a radical surgical resection and adjuvant external radiotherapy. She is currently well and under regular follow up for the past two years with no sign of recurrence. Radical surgery and adjuvant.........

Abstract: The periodontium is a functional unit and consists of the gingiva, periodontal ligament, cementum, and alveolar bone. The gingiva surrounds the tooth like a collar and is firmly attached to the alveolar bone and cervical portion of the tooth. The most coronal edge of the gingiva is the gingival margin. Gingival recession caused due to periodontal disease disturbs patients because of sensitivity and esthetics. Gingival prosthesis may be fixed or removable and can be made from silicones, acrylics, composite resins or ceramics according to what is best suited for the case. The gingival veneer is esthetically appealing and easy to maintain. This case report describes the use of gingival veneer as a treatment modality for recession..

Abstract: Now a days, MRI is the examination of choice for sellar and parasellar pathology due to its excellent soft tissue contrast, fine multiplanar capability and with no ionizing radiation. This permits fair visualization of pathology, bearing close relation to adjoining organs with concrete tissue differentiation. CT, though less employed is of immense use especially for demonstrating calcification, bony destruction and surgically relevant bony anatomy (sphenoid septae and pneumatization). When sella gets enlarged as a result of intrasellar tumor, it takes the shape of a round (balloon and extends its tentacles underneath the anterior clinoid processes). Pruning underneath the clinoid processes and intact dorsum sella in these cases can appear in a closed type of sella, due to characteristic of intrasellar.........

Abstract: Low backache (LBA) is one of the commonest presenting complaints of patients and it is important to evaluate it. Since degenerative changes and neoplastic lesion present initially with (LBA, it is important to differentiate the lesions as degenerative, benign or malignant. Once the lesion is differentiated the patient can be managed appropriately. Considering these facts in mind, the present study was planned to evaluate the role of MRI in lower backache. A hospital based observational study which was cross-sectional in nature was carried out for a period of 12 months among adult patients those attended the MRI Centre of the Midnapore Medical College and Hospital, West Bengal for MRI evaluation for their lower backache. This study revealed various pathological conditions.......

Abstract: Introduction: Most common site for Giant cell tumour is knee, Where the tumour characteristically extends up to the subarticular bone plate. Extensive curettage with preservation of joint should be done where ever possible. The alternatives for filling the void left after curettage are either bone graft or bone cement. Curettage followed by cementation is a commonly accepted treatment modality for giant cell tumours of the bone. However, concerns regarding articular cartilage damage related to the exothermic reaction during polymerization and the change in stress distribution in the subchondral region have been reported to occur within 5 yrs following cementation. Sandwich technique uses the advantages of both, taking care to prevent damage to articular cartilage.......

Abstract: Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a lethal birth defect with a reported incidence of 1:3000 live births. Herniation of abdominal contents occurs most often, in over 95% of cases, through the posterior foramen of Bochdalek, with 80% occurring on the left side. Diaphragmatic defects may be approached either through the thorax or the abdomen; this choice depends on the expertise and preference of the surgeon. Supporters of the laparoscopic approach refer to easier manipulation of the instruments and the ability to visualize the reduced viscera, thus avoiding unnoticed lesions. The present study was a prospective study that included patients with CDH presented at the Pediatric Surgery Unit and Neonatal Care Unit, Coimbatore medical college Hospital, Coimbatore........

Abstract: Mental health has emerged as a major concern in the modern era and this subsequently prompted India to implement the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017. It aims to provide better right based patient care service. The Concepts such as advance directive and nominated representative have been introduced, and the responsibilities of government and supervisory boards, are clearly emphasized. Despite our search for a study that explores the issues related to this act among the psychiatric residents, we could not find any. So the present study will attempt to know.......

Abstract: Malignant conditions involving the maxilla or mandible are usually treated with surgical resection. To prevent the relapse, substantial surgical intervention might be done; leaving the patient with anatomical defects. In this case series, we have evaluated the different designs and techniques for the fabrication of obturator prosthesis used for the rehabilitation of maxillofacial defects. We have rehabilitated the defects with interim and definitive prosthesis according to the requirement of an individual cases using magnet retained, stud retained and microwave polymerized hollow bulb obturators for definitive prosthesis whereas microwave and heat polymerized for interim prosthesis.Clinician should be able to select the best suitable technique depending on the cases, for effective rehabilitation of the defect thereby improving the quality of life..
