Abstract: Background :Clinically palpable breast lump , has remained a diagnostic challenge . Multimodality comparative imaging along with histopathological correlation helps in improving accuracy and establishing evidence based characterization of lump/ lesions based on BI-RADS scoring , along with early high specificity detection protocol. Materials and Methods: In this prospective randomised controlled study, 25 patients over an study duration of 18 months were selected . Inclusion criteria being Clinically palpable breast lump and Sonologicallydemonstrated lesion . Exclusion criteria being BI-RADS category 1, 6. GE Voluson 730 expert linear Probe 12MHZ used for Sono-mammography . MRI of the breast was done on GE Signa HDxt 1.5 T MR Scanner. HD 8 channel VIBRANT breast array coil from GE is used in all patients. Finally Core biopsy of the lesion was done and the histo-pathological report assessment was done. Nature of the lesion as described by MRI and USG was compared with histo-pathological results.......

Abstract: Background and Aim:Laparoscopic cholecystectomy conducted under general anaesthesia. Pain intensity remains high in initial hours. In search of analgesic technique which has minimal side effects this study was conducted to observe the effectiveness of intraperitoneal instillation of Bupivacaine (0.25%) on post-operative pain following laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods: This prospective longitudinal study conducted in 50 patients aged 18-60 years of ASA I-II to assess the effectiveness of post-operative analgesia with 0.25% 40 ml bupivacaine in laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anaesthesia. Number of patients having VAS<3 at 3 hours, duration of analgesia, total number of rescue analgesic (IM Diclofenac) required in 24 hrs and incidence of any adverse events such as shoulder pain, post-operative nausea and vomiting, respiratory depression were noted.......

Abstract: Introduction: Epilepsy is affecting approximately 50 million people and most of them are in developing countries. About 10 million people with epilepsy are residing in India. According to various studies the overall prevalence of epilepsy in India is 5.59-10 per 1000. A seizure is defined as a paroxysmal alteration in neurologic function resulting from abnormal excessive neuronal electrical activity and usually a symptom of focal or generalized brain abnormality. Materials and methods: This is a cross sectional study conducted at the Department of Radiology, AJ institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Mangalore.......

Abstract: Introduction: The omentum is a common site for neoplastic disease: ovarian, gastrointestinal, pancreatic, and non-neoplastic processes including granulomatous disease. Conventional management of advanced ovarian cancer involves aggressive debulking surgery followed by chemotherapy. More recently, there has been a move towards neoadjuvant chemotherapy prior to debulking surgery. The EORTC 55971 trial results illustrate, in patients with bulky stage IIIC or IV ovarian cancer, that neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by interval debulking surgery is not inferior to primary debulking surgery followed by chemotherapy. The main aim of this study was to demonstrate the outcome and safety of image guided omental biopsy.......

Abstract: Introduction: Acute pyelonephritis is define as a renal inflammation, most commonly occurs in female population age group between 15-40 years. Most of times, the diagnosis of APN is made by clinical and laboratory tests. Various imaging technique are available to diagnose the renal inflammation cases. Computed tomography imaging provides better management of such cases because of its high sensitivity and specificity. Materials and Methods: This is a prospective study over a period of 1 year from January 2019 to December 2019. A total of 30 patients were analysed retrospectively at the Department of Radiology, AJ Institute of Medical Sciences, and Mangalore. All patients who are referred to the department of Radiodiagnosis for Computed Tomography (CT) scan with clinical suspicion/ diagnosis of acute pyelonephritis were consecutively inducted into the study after receiving informed consent......

Abstract: Introduction: The neck has a complex anatomy and contains small anatomic structures that are closely spaced. This necessitates a thorough understanding of normal spatial relationships and anatomical variants for the diagnosis of lesions. Cross sectional imaging remains the corner stone for elucidation of anatomy and detection of pathology. This study compares CT with MR, to find modality best suited for various pathologies of the region. Better visualization with the appropriate modality can provide the clinician with key information for best possible management of the patient. Materials and Methods: The prospective hospital-based study was carried out on hundred cases in Department of Radiology, AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Mangalore, Karnataka from January 2018 to December 2019. Informed consent......

Abstract: Introduction:Acute cholecystitis is an acute inflammatory condition of the gall bladder; 95% of cases of acute cholecystitis are due to an obstructing calculus in the gall bladder neck orcystic duct.1The pathophysiology of acute cholecystitis is complex and not completely understood. In 96% of cases there are gallstones, and typically, a calculus causes cystic duct obstruction. The trapped concentrated bile has an irritative effect onthe gallbladder wall, causing increased secretions leading to distention, wall edema, and hypervascularity of the wall. Materials and Methods:The study was a Cross Sectional study conducted at Department of Radiology, AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Mangalore, Karnataka for a period of 12 months between January 2019 to December 2019.All patients with clinical suspicion/Diagnosis of Acute cholecystitis referred for CT were consecutively inducted into the study.......

Abstract: Intraspinal tumor are not uncommon lesion that may result in serious morbidity. Their clinical symptoms are often non-specific and include back pain, radicular symptom and slowly progressive neurological deficits such as limb weakness, paresthesia, gait problem, impotence bowel and bladder dysfunctions are the most common. Less common are acute headache, skeletal deformity such as kyphoscoliosis. The study was carried out in the department of Radiology and imaging, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Dhaka (DMCH) in the collaboration with Neurosurgery department of DMCH. A total number of 50 patients from 11-70 years of age were evaluated by detailed history and clinical Examination with special emphasis on nervous system who subsequently underwent for MR Scan of spine........
