Abstract: Background Hydrocephalus is a common neurosurgical condition affecting people all ages. The aetiology and clinical profile may varies depending on the age and geographical location. Paucity of data in literature exists on causes and biodemographic characteristics of hydrocephalus in sub-Saharan Africa. Objectives To determine the aetiology and bio-demographic characteristics of hydrocephalus seen in our centre Methods A retrospective..........

Abstract: Hernie diaphragmatique gauche post-traumatique, syndrome occlusif, tomodensitométrie, chirurgie, postopératoire. Keywords: Post-traumatic left diaphragmatic hernia, occlusive syndrome, computed tomography, surgery, postoperative.

Abstract: Background:HRCT Temporal bone remains mainstayévaluation of various pathologies involving the Temporal bone . It plays a vital role in diagnosis ,understanding the pathology , behavior of the disease and planning the best course of treatment , may it be medical or surgical line. Prognostication of complications are best done by this imaging modality . Materials and Methods: In this prospective randomised controlled study, 52 patients of clinically fresh non operated case of non traumatic temporal bone ( External , inner , middle ear pathologies ) were selected . Multiplanar HRCT temporal bone study was done at Subbiah institute of medical sciences Shimoga , few under anaesthesia support . Past history of trauma or surgery were main exclusion criteria . The cases were categories under headings of Congenital , Infections , Tumours. Operative correlation , histopathological correlation were done in relevant cases ......

Abstract: Background:Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autosomal recessive disease, characterized by recurrent short attacks of fever accompanied by abdominal pain, arthritis and pleuritis. It frequently occurs within Mediterranean populations, especially Armenians, Turks, Sephardic Jews and Arabs. The gene responsible for the FMF (MEFV), is located on 16p13.3 and it encodes a protein called pyrine. Objective: To evaluate the phenotypic features of the patients with E148Q mutation. Subjects: The MEFV gene of 5 patients is analyzed. 4 patients were found to be heterozygous for E148Q, and one compound heterozygous for E148Q.....

Abstract: Magnification in dentistry has amplified the scope of restorative dentistry withamended ergonomics. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the cavity preparations by 3rd BDS students during their clinical postings with and without using magnification loupes. 22 3rd BDS students performed Class I restorations on patients with at least 2 carious mandibular molars (36 /37 /46/47) in need of Class I restorations using modified split mouth design with and without loupes in two separate dental visits. The preparations were assessed by two observers using rating scale for quality evaluation of cavity preparations. Student feedback was obtained after complete procedures. The collected data was anlysedstatistical analysis using chi-sqaure test....

Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the preferences for dentists' attire and appearance among children visiting a paediatric dental clinic Methods: A questionnaire was used to obtain information on socio-demographic status of children and their preferences for different types of attire and general appearance of consulting dentists at the pediatric dental clinic of a tertiary health institution. Further information was elicited based on photographs presented to participants showing male and female dentists' with different attires and personal protective wears. Retrieved questionnaires were scrutinized for completeness and adequacy of responses and those found with unacceptable rate of missing data were excluded. Data obtained were analyzed with SPSS 20.0 and statistical significance set at p< 0.05......

Abstract: The primary cesarean delivery rate rose in the last decade, and the percentage of women undergoing vaginal birth after cesarean delivery declined remarkably. A new study based on the data from the National Family and Health Survey has shown that there is a significant increase in the rate of cesarean births in India. While the WHO recommends the rate of cesarean delivery to be 10-15%, the number was 17.2% for India during the period from Jan 2017 to Dec 20181. Cesarean delivery is considered a risk factor for abdominal adhesion formation. Adhesions, which are abnormal bonds between the surfaces of anatomical structures, can present with varying severity after repeated intra-abdominal or pelvic surgeries.adhesion-related complications after cesarean delivery......

Abstract: Background: Fracture shaft of femur is one of the most common fractures encountered in orthopaedic practice. Fracture shaft of femur is major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients who sustain high energy trauma. This study looks at the epidemiology of patients presenting with femur fracture at a RIMS Ongole. Methods: This prospective study was performed at RIMS Ongole. All patients aged 18 years or above, who presented with fracture of shaft of femur were treated with interlocking nailing were included in the study. Various clinical and radiological parameters were collected during the course of treatment......

Abstract: Ovarian mass is one of the common most problems in clinical practice in gynaecology, and it also poses a great challenge in diagnosing the ovarian mass clinically hence requires a diagnostic radiological workup. In the management of the ovarian mass at first, definitive diagnosis must be made as treatment would differ for benign and malignant masses. Majority of ovarian masses are benign which composes nearly 80% and we should be able to extract the remaining 20% of malignant ovarian masses which needs a more aggressive treatment. Ultrasonography(US) is considered as the primary imaging modality for ovarian mass as well as diagnosing the nature of the ovarian mass as benign or malignant and this is always correlated by gross and microscopic specimens from histopathology......
