Abstract: Introduction: Human life expectancy has been increased by development in medical science. A longer human span life means that more patients will be partially or fully edentulous. A number of prosthetic techniques are available over time for the rehabilitation of partial or complete loss of tooth/teeth. In order to overcome the problems associated with conventional prosthetic treatment, the dental implants came into existence. With the increasing success rates of dental implants, clinicians and researchers have turned their approach toward making the duration of treatment shorter and more comfortable for the patients. Abstract: Background: Hospitalcleaning is a process which intends to remove foreign material such as dust, dirt, litter, cobwebs, mould, blood, secretions, excretions and micro-organisms from a surface or an object through the use of water, detergent and mechanical action and friction to prevent and control infection. Aim: To study investigate personal hygiene practices of general hospital cleaners in Port Harcourt. Materials and Method: Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The population for the study consisted of 294 cleaners. The instrument was validated by three experts in the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education. The reliability coefficient of the instrument was 0.75 was obtained. The researcher used Mean and Standard Deviation to answer the research questions while z-test was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance....

Abstract:Aim- The aim of the present study is to observe and evaluate root canal morphology of mandibular ahterior teeth in North Indian population using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) images. METHOD AND MATERIALS: 200 Cone Beam Computed Tomography scans of selected patient were taken on the basis of predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria and evaluated that have images of mandibular anterior teeth, in north Indian males and females of 15-60 year groups age groups, from a data base CBCT scans taken from a CBCT scanning Centre located in Agra. Variation in root canal morphology of permanent mandibular anterior teeth in male and female with different age group were noted and evaluated. The present study evaluate the root and root canal morphology of mandibular permanent anterior teeth. RESULT : Statistical Analysis of collected data are carried out with Chi-sqaure test. In total of 98 mandibular anterior teeth evaluated ,Type I Cc found in 91 teeth(84%), Type II Cc found in 7 teeth(14%) and Type III Cc found in 1 teeth(2%)....

Abstract: The effect of African walnut (Plukenetiaconophora) on the serum acid phosphatase and prostate specific antigen levels in male albino rats were investigated. Eighteen wistar albino rats were used for the experiment. The rats test group was fed with a diet prepared with 1% African walnut and 99% of the rat chow. The control group received only the standard feed (rat chow). The baseline group was sacrificed at the onset of the study to ascertain initial conditions. The study lasted for thirty one days after which the serum acid phosphatase and prostate specific antigen levels were estimated using spectophotometric method. The acid phosphatase kit (Bio systems) and PSA ELISA kit (BioCheck) were used for the assay. The result showed that there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05) in prostate specific antigen level of the test group (3.72±1.243) compared to the baseline (4.08±2.158) and control (5.13±2.416). The total acid phosphatase (19.60±8.148) and prostatic acid phosphatase (15.36±4.836) levels of the test group showed no statistically significant (P>0.05) difference compared to the levels in baseline....

Abstract: Background: The transition of our health system to universal health coverage and improved population health via social health insurance requires establishing an evidence based quality management culture. Patient satisfaction with care is an important major stakeholder metric that should drive system design and service delivery. Comparative studies on patient satisfaction between NHIS and fee- paying clinics provide necessary evidence to facilitate development of a system that delivers care acceptable to the population, encouraging enrolment towards UHC. Aim: to compare the pattern of patient satisfaction with services in the fee-paying and NHIS primary care clinics to determine the service components that drive patient satisfaction and the dynamics of patient expectation, experience and satisfaction.....
