Abstract: Introduction:Metastatic spine tumors are a frequent problem in patients afflicted with cancer and are oftenassociated with significant morbidity and mortality. The The most common symptom is pain, present in up to 85–96 % of cases . Pain can be caused from periosteal stretching and inflammation from local tumor growth, which results in constant, dull, nocturnal pain. Spinal metastases can also result in spine instability, which can lead to mechanical pain that worsens with movement or axial loading. Case report:We report the successful management of a 57 year old neurologically sound patient with dorsal spine metastasis associated with morphine dependency due to severe pain; treated with combo minimal invasive procedures- percutaneous vertebroplasty and posterior percutaneous.....

Abstract: Background:Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is a common gynecological problem in women, affecting their quality of life and making them seek treatment. AUB has many causes which makes it important to have a systematic approach that can lead to the correct diagnosis and guide management accordingly. The primary aim is to study the various causes of AUB and categorize the women presenting with the complaint as per the FIGO PALM-COEIN system after reaching a final diagnosis based of clinical, laboratory, imaging and histopathology findings. The study also enables to compare the different causes of AUB as per the frequency of occurrence. Materials & Methods: An observational study was carried out on a 100 women in the reproductive age group, who presented with the complaint.....

Abstract: Anemia is a common and predominant blood disorder globally, in which the level of hemoglobin or healthy red blood cells are abnormally lower. The most common type anemia is Iron deficiency anemia (IDA). In Siddha system Veluppu Noi is almost correlated with clinical conditions of anemia as described in modern medicine. Veluppu is described as a diseased condition in which the nature color of the body including nail beds and conjunctiva becomes pallor. Siddha system has better medicines for the treatment and management of Veluppu Noi. One among them is Vallarai Nei the ingredients of this preparation contains as its chemical constituents iron, folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin B12, copper, zinc, carbohydrate, protein, tannin, flavonoids. The ingredients of this medicine exhibits anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, immunomodulatory and hepatoproductive. The medicine improved both the haemoglobin level in RBC's and also strength in the immune system.

Abstract: Hypertriglyceridemia (HTG) is a rare but well known cause of acute pancreatitis (AP), after alcohol and gall stone disease. It is alleged to account for up to 10% of all pancreatitis episodes. Studies suggest that in patients with triglyceride (TG) levels>1000 mg/dL (>11.3 mmol/L), hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis (HTGP-AP) occurs in approximately 15-20% of all subjects referred to Lipid Clinics. This can be a life- threatening complication if the degree of HTG is severe enough. It might be primary in origin or secondary to alcohol abuse, diabetes mellitus, pregnancy, or drugs. A serum triglyceride (TG) level of more than 1,000 to 2,000 mg/dL in patients with type I, IV, or V hyperlipidemia (Fredrickson's classification) is the identifiable risk factor. A thorough family history of lipid abnormalities should be obtained, and an attempt to identify secondary causes should be made. HTG-induced AP typically.....

Abstract: Infectious diseases are major public health problem globally in terms of mortality andmorbidity. Human genetic variation exerts a major influence on the course of disease caused by many infectious micro-organisms. However, host immunity and susceptibility is affected by many environmental factors such as nutritional status, intercurrent disease, pregnancy, immunosuppressive drugs and malignancy. Advanced DNA technology has mapped human genome and identified genes that are involved and related to resistance and susceptibility to most common microbial infections. Genome-wide association studies have identified various strong association between genetic polymorphisms and susceptibility to infectious disease phenotypes. Thisresulting the development of new branch in medicine and therapy, the personalized medicine. Understanding the human genome individual variations and specific polymorphism enabling potential selective therapy with best response and highest safety margin to ensure better patient care and treatment .Paper discuss the susceptibility and resistance to some of common pathogenic microbial infection related to the genome variation.

Abstract: COVID-19 is currently a public health emergency of international concern that needs to be addressed as soon as possible through effective medical intervention.1 This is a contagious respiratory illness which spreads from person to person via close contact, infected droplets or interaction with surfaces that contain the virus. The first case of COVID-19 was identified in Wuhan, China and reported to World Health Organisation on 31 December 2019.2 On 30 January 2020, World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 a pandemic.3 SARS-CoV-2 is highly contagious and potentially fatal for some people who contract it. This study has been planned to assess knowledge pertaining to patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 amongst the health care professionals working in the COVID- 19 treating center. Knowing the level of knowledge in the early stages of pandemic can help in organizing relevant training and framing policies during the outbreak.

Abstract: Wound dehiscenes is the most dreaded complications faced by surgeons having incidence ranges from 0.4% to 3.5% in post operative patients. It is of greatest concern because of risk of evisceration, the need for immediate intervention, and the other complications and has mortality rates reported as high as 45%. Various risk factors are responsible for wound dehiscence such as emergency surgery, intraabdominal infection, malnutrition (hypoalbuminaemia ,anaemia), advanced age >65yrs, systemic diseases( uremia, diabetes mellitus) etc. This retrospective observational study which was carried out on 50 patients clinically presenting as gaping of abdominal wound and discharge from the surgical site admitted in Department of Surgery, People's College of Medical.....

Abstract: Purpose:In-vitro study to assess the effect of children's coloring beverages on resin modified glass ionomer and compomer in relation to microleakage, color stability, microhardness.
Materials and Methods: Microleakage was evaluated in eighty extracted primary molars, standard class V cavities were prepared on buccal surfaces of the teeth. They were randomly divided into two equal groups (n=40) according to tested materials. For color and microhardness assessment 160 disks were prepared using teflon mold, each disk was 5mm diameter and 2mm thickness. Disks divided into two groups each (n=80) according to type of restoration used.
Each group was divided into four subgroups regarding beverages used to: Water (subgroup A),Orange (subgroup B), Pepsi (subgroup C), Chocolate milk (subgroup D). Samples were immersed in beverages for 3 hours per day and the rest of the day in distilled water for 7 days. Microleakage test was assessed by dye penetration technique and observed under a stereomicroscope. For color values each specimen was measured using a portable Reflective spectrophotometer. Microhardness measurements was....
