Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the long-term effects of conservative orthopaedic practice during Covid-19 pandemic on management and long-term outcomes. Methods: Current longitudinal retrospective cohort study included patients at a single tertiary care center in India. Successive distal radius fractures of patients in pre-COVID (2018-19), COVID (2020-21) and postCOVID (2022-23) time period groups were treated and analysed. The primary outcome was the Quick Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder.......

Abstract: Background: Febrile seizures are seizures that occur between the ages of 6 and 60 months with a temperature of 100.4°F or higher, that are not result of CNS infection or any metabolic imbalance and that occur in the absence of a history of prior afebrile seizures. They occur in around 2% of 5% of children and recurrence is seen in about one-third of children. Very few studies till now reported the risk factors of recurrence of febrile seizure from India. Therefore, the present study was conducted to know the risk factors associated with recurrence of febrile seizures among South Indian children......

Abstract: Background: Retinopathy of prematurity is a condition where development of abnormal retinal vessels is secondary to an incomplete vascularization of retinal tissue due to hyperoxia, causing feedback inhibition of VEGF and destruction of endothelial cells. The risk factors of ROP should be identified to prevent disease development, and the knowledge of its etiology may help neonatologists and ophthalmologists perform careful screening and executive accurate diagnosis. In view of less literature on ROP in India, the current study was undertaken.....

Abstract: Aims & Objectives: To study the pattern and occurrence of orbital fractures associated with midface trauma and to assess the association of fracture pattern with etiology of orbital fracture. Methodology: All midface trauma patients treated at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of Govt Dental College Calicut between June 2019 and June 2020 were included. Plain radiographs and available CT scans were assessed by a senior maxillofacial surgeon to diagnose and evaluate orbital fractures. The etiology of fractures was recorded, and its correlation with orbital fracture patterns was analyzed. Clinical evaluation included assessing eye movements, enophthalmos, hypoglobus, palpebral fissure length, and alignment, as well as the presence of telecanthus......

Abstract: Complete dentures are one of the most challenging prosthetic treatments to be performed throughout history. It has undergone transformation during the last decade tremendously with introduction of digital dentistry. The efforts are being focused at reducing the duration and number of clinical appointments, making the process more predictable and repeatable. The milled pre-polymerized PMMA has superior physical and mechanical properties, better biological properties and polishability. It is necessary to understand the clinical workflow of the digital dentures to be able to apply them clinically, giving patients the best possible outcome..

Abstract: Radicular cyst is a pathologic cavity partially or completely lined by epithelium in an area of apical periodontitis that is the result of root canal infection of a tooth. The radicular cysts are most likely caused by the inflammatory proliferation of Malassez's epithelial cell resting in the periapical tissues that are irritated. It rarely occurs in conjunction with deciduous teeth and is typically linked to permanent dentition. This article describes a case series of two male children, ages five and seven, who had an apical periodontal cyst in the mandibular posterior region of the jaw, which was connected to their deciduous teeth. Conservative treatment might have been the outcome.......

Abstract: Eosinophilic lung diseases are a varied group of disorders that, apart from the presence of eosinophils, often have little in common clinically. Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia (CEP) is thought to represent 1-3% of interstitial lung diseases and is characterized by significant eosinophilia in both tissue and peripheral blood. We present the case of a 21-year-old patient, non-smoking and with no history of atopy. He came in with progressively worsening, insidious respiratory symptoms, reporting cough and dyspnea. The diagnosis of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia was considered based on characteristic imaging, blood eosinophilia and broncho alveolar lavage (BAL) results. The progress under corticosteroid therapy was favorable. After just one week, the patient reported clinical improvement, normalization of blood eosinophil levels, and radiological clearance.

Abstract: Ovarian cancer poses a global mortality challenge due to early detection hurdles. This study, spanning April 2021 to April 2022, assesses serum amylase potential as an epithelial ovarian cancer marker. The study included fifty ovarian tumor patients in diverse departments provided informed consent. Preoperatively, 3 ml venous blood was collected, and serum amylase levels were analyzed within an hour. Histopathological subtypes categorize patients. The mean age of the participants was 40.8±11.4 years, and the mean duration of the disease was 2.4±1.2 months. Epithelial......
