Abstract: Aim: The purpose is to study the association between nutritional status and dental carries in children attending outpatient department of a tertiary care centre. Materials and methods: A total of 342 children aged up to 16 years attending the department of District Early Intervention and Care (DEIC) of a Government Medical College and Hospital were selected for this study. The nutritional status was evaluated using BMI for age and converted into Z score by plotting into age and gender specific WHO growth charts. Dental caries status was recorded according to WHO criteria. The obtained data were subjected to statistical analysis.......

Abstract: Introduction: Numerous epidemiological studies have consistently shown an association between moderate aerobic exercise and decreased risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) and death, and even a small amount of exercise provides a significant reduction in risk compared to a sedentary lifestyle Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the etiology, epidemiology and prevention of sudden cardiac death in sports. Methodology: The methodology used was a literature review. The research was carried out by means of an electronic search for scientific articles published on the Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and Lilacs (Latin American Health Sciences Literature) and Pubmed websites. The health terminologies consulted in the Health Sciences descriptors (DeCS/BIREME) were used; the etiology, epidemiology and ways of preventing sudden cardiac death in sports practices.......

Abstract: Introduction: Repeat cesarean sections are becoming increasingly common due to the global rise in cesarean deliveries. While cesarean sections can be life-saving for both mother and baby, the risks associated with multiple procedures tend to increase. This study aims to evaluate these complications and outcomes to guide safer practices. Methods: This observational cross-sectional study was conducted Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Chittagong Medical College & Hospital, from December 16-June'17. All the pregnant women who underwent repeat Caesarean section in Chittagong Medical College Hospital, Chittagong during the study period were considered as the study population.......

Abstract: Introduction: Diabetic mastopathy is a rare benign condition that can occur in patients with long standing Type I or II diabetes mellitus male or female of any age. Diabetic mastopathy is a fibroinflammatory condition that resembles carcinoma of breast. Here, we report a case of Type II Diabetic female patient with suspicious breast lump in right breast. Case presentation: A 62 year old female presented with complaints of lump in right breast for 10 days. Clinically, hard lump of size 8x6 cm was palpable in upper outer quadrant. Trucut biopsy showed features of Diabetic mastopathy. Patient undergone wide local excision and biopsy confirmed the diagnosis. Post operative period was uneventful........

Abstract: Background: The porta hepatis is a deep transverse fissure on the inferior surface of the liver, between the quadrate lobe anteriorly and the caudate process posteriorly. The major structures traversing in it are the portal vein, the hepatic artery and the hepatic duct. There are a lot of variations in the arrangement of structures passing through porta hepatis. Having knowledge of these variations becomes important to help in the existing knowledge so as to avoid complications during surgical and radiological interventions. The present study was carried out to study the arrangement and number of structures passing through porta hepatis and to report any variation thereof........

Abstract: Background: Orthodontic treatment usually involves usage of light continuous forces but when heavy forces are used it leads to apical root resorption. External apical root resorption refers to reduction in root structure involving the apices. This resorption is of transient inflammatory type. 2D images are commonly used for diagnostic purposes in orthodontics but it cannot detect root resorption on lingual or buccal surfaces thus cannot measure the volume of root loss. Cone beam computed tomography which can provide 3D images was introduced in late 1990s. Images provided by CBCT are more more accurate than panoramic and periapical radiographs . Therefore in this study , CBCT is used to evaluate lateral root resorption in maxillary teeth after after space closure among first premolar extraction cases........

Abstract: 28 year old male Bank manager by profession caught with seizure , in-spite of taking multiple medication in different health care the symptom didn't subside. Ultimately he landed to emergency were he started on multiple medication for seizure as the symptom was refractory and later diagnosed with New Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus (NORSE). The causative organism was considered to be Acinetobacter Baumanii on CSF examination. On prolonged sedative medication and mechanical ventilation he was diagnosed with Ventilatory associated pneumonia , the causative organism was found to be Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Providencia infection for which he started on antibiotic therapy. In-spite of all the efforts even due to multiple medication and antibiotic therapy patient landed into septic shock.

Abstract: Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a common metabolic disorder that affects different organ systems in our body. Pulmonary complication of diabetes is not well characterized because of scarcity of data. Purpose of the present study was to evaluate the lung functions among the patients with Type2 DM. Materials and method: To evaluate the lung functions 85 type 2 diabetic patients were included in the study. Informed consent was obtained from the study participants. After taking a brief history, spirometry was performed among the recruited patients. The data were recorded in Microsoft excel and analyzed using SPSS software........

Abstract: The most common type of oral cancer, oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), is still a major global health concern. Due to delayed diagnoses, which are frequently caused by low public awareness and few screening alternatives, the five-year survival rate is still low. Modern methods in oral oncology have arisen to enhance patient outcomes and early identification, including as molecular and imaging diagnostics. This review showcases several cutting-edge diagnostic techniques, including flow cytometry, next-generation sequencing (NGS), chemiluminescence, toluidine blue, immunohistochemistry (IHC), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and nano-diagnostics. By providing insights into tumor behaviour and enabling customized treatment approaches.......
