Abstract: Background oroantral communication (oac) is a surgical complication that occurs when an opening is created between the maxillary sinus and the oral cavity. If left untreated, an oac can lead to further complications, such as the formation of an oroantral fistula (oaf) or an infection of the maxillary sinus. The aim of this study was to provide a well-established protocol for perioperative medication of acute oroantral communication and fistula. Materials and methods:a thorough literature review was done by the following databases: pubmed, scopus and cochrane for english......

Abstract: Context Rib fractures are mostly traumatic. Commonly seen in patients suffering from multiple injuries due to road traffic accidents or fall from height, conventional treatment is with intravenous/oral analgesics or opioid patches. The innervation of the ribs pass through the Serratus Anterior Plane and hence we aim to administer anaesthetic in this plane to achieve reliable and quality pain relief Methods and materials: 20 patients presenting with a rating of 8 on the visual analogue scale , whose pain was not relieved by intravenous analgesics and showed signs.....

Abstract: Background: Testicular torsion is a urological emergency characterised by the rotation of the spermatic cord, leading to compromised blood flow to the testicle. Prompt diagnosis and surgical intervention are crucial to salvage testicular viability and preserve fertility. This study aims to retrospectively analyse the clinical presentation, management, and outcomes of testicular torsion cases in a tertiary care centre in Northeast India over the course of one year. Materials and Methods:This retrospective study was conducted in Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh from January2023......

Abstract: Background: Knee osteoarthritis is a chronic progressive disease that imparts a substantial socioeconomic burden to society and healthcare system. The prevalence of knee OA has dramatically risen in the recent decades due to consistent increases in life expectancy and obesity worldwide. Patient education, physical exercise and weight loss (for over-weight or obese individuals) constitute the first line knee OA treatment approach. Objective: To determine the recent research evidences for the effectiveness of movement corrective exercise to reduce pain and.....

Abstract: Internal derangements of the temporomandibular joint are conditions in which the articular disc has become displaced from its original position the condylar head. Relevant anatomic structures and their functional relationships are briefly discussed. The displacement of the disc can result in numerous presentations, with the most common being disc displacement with reduction (with or without intermittent locking), and disc displacement without.....

Abstract: Background: Trigeminal neuralgia is one of the most common cause1 of facial pain which causes functional incapacitation. Patient gets pain on trivial stimulus like chewing, talking and sometimes even small breeze of air also can induce pain. Patients are usually treated with anti-convulsants like oral Carbamazepine2 but when conservative management fails or is not tolerated, there are various invasive options available including surgery. Gasserian Ganglion Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) is very commonly opted procedure for refractory cases with co-morbidities3. Percutaneous RFA involves very precise needle positioning for heating of the nerve at particular temperature. We present....

Abstract: Mullerian anomalies are rare developmental anomalies of the female reproductive tract, were first described by Buttram and Gibbons in 1979. This classification was revised by the American society of Reproductive Medicine in 1988.Unicornuate uterus is a type 2 classification with normally structured, functional uterus with cervix and vagina with hypoplasia or agenesis on the contralateral side either communicating or non- communicating horn accounts for 2.4%-13% of all Mullerian anomalies. Abstract: Acute esophageal necrosis (AEN), commonly known as black esophagus, is a rare clinical condition resulting from a combination of ischemic disorders and thromboembolic lesions of the esophagus. It is characterized by a circumferential black appearance of the esophagus. Treatment consists in correcting the causes of AEN, conditioning the patient and suppressing....

Abstract: Introduction: Anaemia is a major public health problem affecting both the developed as well as the developing countries. Anaemia in pregnancy is an important contributor to maternal mortality/morbidity as well as contributes to increased percentage for infant mortality. The major physiological consequence of anaemia is the reduced oxygen carrying capacity of the blood. The sensitivity of the myocardium to chronic hypoxia in pregnant women with anaemia.....

Abstract: Background: ECG plays a valuable role in identification of culprit lesion in patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). But in non-ST elevated ACS, the role of ECG is not very specific. Fragmented QRS (fQRS) complexes are novel electrocardiographic signals, which reflect myocardial conduction delays in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). fQRS can play a significant role in the diagnosis of culprit lesion in patients with non-ST elevated ACS. Objective: This study was conducted to determine the correlation of fQRS with coronary angiography to identify culprit lesion in patients with non-ST elevated ACS.....

Abstract: Introduction: Immunohistochemistry has emerged as the most valuable adjunct to Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining in diagnostic histopathology. IHC has an essential role in the diagnosis of metastatic tumors. It is done on paraffin-embedded tissue and has a low cost compared to advanced imaging studies and molecular genetic analysis. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the diagnostic discrepancy between histopathology and IHC and to identify the root cause of discordance wherever possible......

Abstract: Background: Aneurysmal bone cyst is an uncommon benign solitary tumor of the long tubular bones, pelvis, and vertebrae that seldom affects the clavicle. It is prevalent in adolescence but unusual in elderly age. The distinctive radiological and histological images validate the diagnosis. This case is noteworthy since only a few occurrences of aneurysmal bone cysts in the clavicle have been recorded to date. Abstract: Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a prominent cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, creating significant public health concerns and imposing a financial burden on patients. The TyG index has been identified as a credible alternative marker of insulin resistance (IR), which may explain its relationship to CVD. Aim of the study: The purpose of our study was to determine the relationship between the triglyceride-glucose index and cardiovascular disease complexity in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods: This cross-sectional......
