Title | : | Study of Molecular Markers of Breast Carcinoma and Correlation with Other Prognostic Parametres |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr Cj Raghuram || Dr Sudhasmita Rauta || Dr Pvb Ramalakshmi |
Abstract: Breast cancer is the second most leading cause of cancer mortality in Asian countries. The prognosis depends on variable clinical and tumor related factors. Assessment of molecular markers in breast cancer i.e. estogen, progesterone receptors and Her2 neu is strongly recommended to provide best therapeutic options. The aim of this study is to determine the correlation present between molecular markers and other prognostic factors in carcinoma breast. A total 100 cases of invasive duct cancers were included in this study..............

Title | : | Physico Chemical Characterization of Linga Chendhuram |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | S. Elansekaran || V.Thanigavelan || M. Logamanian |
Abstract: Linga Chendhuram (LC) is a traditional Siddha Sastric formulation used in the management of fever at the dosage 65 mg with the adjuvant Honey. It is prepared through the special oxidation of purified Lingam (Cinnabar – Mercuric sulphide) using juice of Citrullus colocynthis as narrated in Siddha Materia Medica. Physicochemical characterization of LC has been carried out using analyses mentioned in the Chendhuram protocol of Pharmacopoeial Laboratory for Indian Medicine........

Title | : | Cushing's syndrome Revealing A Bronchial Carcinoid: Report A New Case With Review Of Literature |
Country | : | Algeria |
Authors | : | Aem Haddam || D Meskine || F Chentli || Ns Fedala |
Abstract: Paraneoplastic Cushing's syndrome is a rare cause of endogenous hypercortisolism . It is due to ectopic ACTH secretion by a non-pituitary endocrine tumor. It can precede, accompany or follow the discovery of the tumor. The differential diagnosis of Cushing's disease is not evident.We report the case of a man of 20 years old , admitted on suspicion of cushing's syndrome. Somatic exam found clear signs of hypercortisolism without melanodermia or high blood pressure . Carbohydrate and ionic level were normally........

Title | : | Clinico-Epidemiological Profile of Poisoning In Children in a Rural Based Medical College and Hospital |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr Achinta Mandal || Dr Abhay Charan Pal || Dr Pradip Kumar Das || Dr Ashok Kumar Dutta |
Abstract: Poisoning is a common medical emergency in childhood and one of the important causes of hospital admission and also of death. An institution based cross-sectional observational study was conducted in B.S. Medical College and hospital, Bankura, West Bengal, India. Among 89 cases of poisoning studied, 62 cases were between 1 to 3 years of age. Overall mortality was 6.67% and 8.89% cases required intensive care support. This study helps us to know the clinico-epidemiological profile of poisoning in children in this part of the country.

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Dr.Chirag D Patel || Dr.Sagar Jaiswal || Dr.Yogesh Patel || Dr.Rajnikant Machhi || Dr. Aashish Suthar |
Abstract: Proximal femoral fractures are most common in old and middle age patients. The dynamic hip screw (DHS) is the most common extramedullary implant used but the failure rate for a DHS is reported to be as high as 21%[1) proximal femoral nail (PFN)system was designed to overcome the above mentioned limitations with has an additional anti-rotational screw (hip pin) for unstable trochanteric and subtrochanteric fractures.The present study includes 50 patients of proximal femoral fractures, treated with Proximal Femoral Nail from April' 2013 to May' 2014 at the Department of Orthopedics, Sir Sayajirao General Hospital, Vadodara........

Abstract: Currently, we aimed to assess serum testosterone and DHEA-S among oligo and azoospermia patients. The study included 60 patients with oligospermia, 60 with azoospermia and 60 normospermia as control. Serum testosterone and DHEA-S levels were measured using competitive ELISA. BMI was calculated from weight/kg divided height/m2........
