Abstract: Introduction: Margin placement is an essential requirement in any fixed restoration as it limits the boundary of the restoration and seals the implant abutment junction for entry of any debris or saliva, thus failing the restoration.2 The marginal fit of the cast restorations is essential for proper functioning, esthetics and success in oral cavity. The aim of the study is to compare the effect of pattern materials on marginal gap of cast copings fabricated on titanium implant abutment. Null hypothesis state no difference in pattern materials when tested for marginal fit over implant abutment. Materials& method: Two pattern materials: Inlay wax and Margin wax were used in the present study. And patterns were prepared on titanium Implant.

Abstract: Introduction: The history of complete denture impression procedures have been influenced largely by the development of impression materials from which new techniques arose. Selection of material is left to the desertion of the dentist, who makes choices based on personal preferences and experience. This study has been conducted to compare the surface area coverage in the maxillary and mandibular primary impressions using alginate and impression compound. Materials & method: A total of 20 primary maxillary impressions and 20 mandibular primary impressions are made; out of which 10 primary maxillary and 10 mandibular primary impressions are made using impression compound and remaining 10 primary..............

Abstract: Badly mutilated teeth presents a challenge for the clinician to determine whether tooth is to be managed endodontically by performing root canal treatment or surgically by undergoing extraction. Pre fabricated posts poses the advantage of saving precious chair time of dentist where as erodes excessive dentine leading to weakening of sound tooth structure. Custom made posts are technique sensitive; can be prepared directly in mouth (direct technique) or in the model obtained from the patient (Indirect technique). The purpose of the present study is to study the fracture resistance of prefabricated and custom posts. Materials & Method: 10 prefabricated posts and 10 custom made posts were used in the study. For prefabricated posts, posts of size 2 (11 cm in length and 2.5 mm in width) were used in the study. Impression of prefabricated post was made in addition silicone.............

Abstract: Introduction: The solubility of dental luting cements influences both their rate of degradation and their biological compatibility. Because of this, the water sorption and solubility of dental cements are of considerable clinical importance and cannot be overlooked. All restorations have to be in oral cavity i.e. are subjected to oral environment. They degrade with time in presence of fluids resulting in open margins in fixed prosthesis leading to loss of retentive capability and risk of secondary caries. Materials And Method: |Two types of luting cements: Glass Ionomer cements and zinc phosphate cement were used in the study. A rectangular specimen of 10 mm in length, 3 mm in height and 5 mm in width was prepared with Addition silicone...........

Abstract: The aim of esthetics in dentistry is to provide life in prosthesis and to help patient for being acceptable in society. Various clinicians have their own methods of assuming shades. Some assume by arranging shade tabs by the lightness or darkness of the colour. The present study was undertaken with the aim of evaluating the knowledge of dental graduates in shade selection of teeth and to find out the shade most commonly mismatched. Materials & method: 25 dental students participated in the study. A shade tab of vita classical was taken and markings were covered with the help of tape. Another vita classical shade guide was taken and used as control. Each student was subjected to 10........

Abstract: Proximal humeral fractures are the third most common fracture in the elderly. Numerous authors have suggested that non operative treatment can be acceptable for two, three and four part fractures of proximal humerus in elderly patients but pain, stiffness, loss of function and muscle power have been described in more percentage of patients following this conservative approach.Fractures of Proximal Humerus have gained more attention recently. With more standard use of Neer's 4-part classification system for fracture and fracture dislocation, a protocol for management and comparison of long term outcome of similar injuries has been made possible. The elderly people.......

Abstract: Background /Purpose: Tuberculosis is well known infectious disease .Skeletal Tuberculosis accounts for 10 to 35% of cases of extraskeletal Tuberculosis. Among all modalties MRI has remarkable ability to detect cardinal features of tubercular spondylodiskitis . Aims and objectives :This study was conducted with the aims towards patients with red flag signs of caries spine so they can be scrutinized on MRI to evaluate radiological signs of this disease, those guide imaging diagnosis as well as differentiating them from similar pathologies. Materials and methods: 50 sequential adult populations of 15-75 years of age presenting with red flag signs of caries spine were studied over one and half year from February 2016 to August 2017 , after getting appropriate clearance from ethical committee........

Abstract: Introduction: One of the most common complication regarding emergency hernia surgery is concerned is its recurrence rate .In cases of obstructed hernias whether umbilical, incisional & inguinal hernioplasty has added advantage over herniorrhaphy with regards to low recurrence rates, less postoperative pain , less chances of seroma, and less postoperative complications. The only contraindication for hernioplasty is gangrenous bowel or toxic fluid, which can lead to infection to mesh later, further to mesh rejection. Aims And Objectives 1. To evaluate the use of polypropelene mesh in the emergency surgery of obstructed hernias 2. To compare the outcome of patients operated using mesh (plasty) versus anatomical repair (rhaphy) in terms of immediate and early / late post operative complications........

Abstract: Sacrum is formed by fusion of five sacral vertebrae and forms the caudal end of the vertebral column. The vertebral canal of Sacrum (Sacral canal) runs throughout the greater part of the bone. The opening present at the caudal end of sacral canal is known as sacral hiatus. It is located inferior to the fourth (or third) fused sacral spines at the lower end of median sacral crest.1,2 The Sacral hiatus contains lower sacral and coccygeal nerve roots, filum terminale externa and fibro-fatty tissue.3 The fifth sacral spinal nerves and coccygeal nerve emerge through the sacral hiatus close to the medial side of the sacral cornua. The sacral hiatus is covered only by skin, a subcutaneous fatty layer and the sacro-coccygeal membrane4,5. The shape of the sacral hiatus shows many variations. Sometimes lamina of more than one sacral vertebra or laminae of all sacral vertebrae remain non fused. In these conditions a wide gap is formed..........
