Abstract: Introduction: Tumors arising from primary adnexal structures skin are Cutaneous adnexal tumors (CATs). These are benign and malignant tumors derived from multipotential cell lines. Even though HPE can differentiate benign and malignant CATs, the classification is still a different task due to variable growth patterns and metaplastic transformations. Aim: To study, classify and review various CATs and evade pitfalls in differentiating benign and malignant CATs. Material and Method: A retrospective study of the diagnosed CATs was done for a period of three years. Histopathological examination (HPE) and classification of tumors was carried out. Results: In the present study 32 cases of CATs were diagnosed. There were........

Abstract: Hepatitis E virus is one of the leading causes of acute liver failure in clinical situation especially in immune-compromised patients , it has a high incidence in Asian countries and many people died due to lack of proper treatment . In this study , steroid (prednisolone ) was used as therapeutic challenge in such patients and significant improvement in clinical and biochemical parameters were found ( SGPT , prothrombin time and total bilirubin ) . This observational study highlights the possibility of steroid treatment as a therapeutic rescue in patients with hepatitis E. Further studies are required to evaluate whether steroid treatment has a supportive role for patients with HEV induced acute liver injury and improves their spontaneous outcome.

Abstract: Tuberculosis is the most common cause of infectious disease-related mortality worldwide. Ethambutol and isoniazid (INH) are synthetic first-line agents of the anti-tubercular treatment (ATT) against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Ethambutol optic neuropathy is a well-recognized adverse ocular event in patients who receive the drug for the treatment of mycobacterial infections. However, most cases in literature are reversible. Optic nerve involvement is a rare side-effect of INH. Visual loss due to optic neuropathy is a rare side-effect of ATT particularly ethambutol and INH. The main aim of this study was to evaluate the ocular effect of ATT with Standard regimen and visual outcome. A total of 73 Patients who were diagnosed as a case of TB and on ATT, were included in this observational study conducted in the Department of Ophthalmology and TBCD, MLBMC, Jhansi. An assessment of present complains detailed clinical history (present and past). Ophthalmological check up as external examination...........

Abstract: Introduction- In our country both pterygium and cataract have a high incidence. Hence in this study, thirty patients with pterygium and cataract were treated with a simultaneous pterygium excision and cataract extraction procedure. Material and methods- It was prospective interventional study. The pterygium excision was done without graft following which the cataract was extracted and the patients were treated post-operatively with topical betamethasone 0.1% for a duration of three months. They were followed up for a duration of 2 months postoperatively. Results- 20 patients (66.6%) had visual recovery of 6/12 and better at the end of 2 months. 14 patients (46.6%) had recurrence of pterygium at the end of 2 months. The combined procedure did not result in any complications after cataract surgery. Post-operatively, after 2 months 12 patients (40%) had with the rule astigmatism and 18 patients (60%) had against the rule astigmatism.

Abstract: Immunization is one of the most cost effective measures to prevent childhood diseases. Vaccines are sensitive biological products and their potency can diminish irreversibly when exposed to inappropriate temperatures. Hence for effective implementation of the immunization programme, Cold Chain and Vaccine Management need a great focus and attention. Cold Chain Handler (CCH) is the most crucial person at a Cold Chain Point as his/her correct knowledge and skills regarding cold chain practices, vaccine management and handling are immensely vital for the success of Universal Immunization Programme. Keeping this in mind, this cross-sectional study was carried out at all 26 Cold Chain Points in district Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Globally validated WHO-UNICEF Effective Vaccine Management (EVM) tool was used for this study. It was found out that all 26 CCH could correctly read and.........

Abstract: OCT was first demonstrated by Huang D et al, in 1991.1 The first in vivo tomograms of the human optic disc and macula were demonstrated in 1993.2,3 It enables noncontact, noninvasive imaging of the anterior eye as well as imaging of morphologic features of the human retina including the fovea and optic disc4,5using near infrared low coherent light passing through a Michelson interferometer to obtain two dimensional images of the retina and optic nerve head. Optical coherence tomographyis of two types- Time domain OCT and Spectral- domain or Fourier Domain OCT. The time domain OCT 3000become available in 2002, with an axial resolution of 10μm and scan velocity of 400 axial scans per second. In 2004, higher resolution Spectral Domain OCT (SD-OCT) was introduced in clinical practice with reported resolution of 1 to 5 μm as well as improved visualization of retinal morphologic and pathologic features............
