Abstract: Many skin diseases present with blisters but only in some of them blisters occur as the primary event. It is this group of disorders, which is traditionally termed the "vesiculobullous disorders". Vesicle is a raised lesion filled with tissue fluid of size <5mm where as bullae is a raised lesion filled with tissue fluid of size >5mm. Definition of vesiculobullous disorders is some what arbitrary, because many other skin disorders which are definite entities may also exhibit blisters as one of the features of their presentation. Eg:. Eczema, impetigo, fungal and viral infections, EMF, insect bites, etc., Skin diseases grouped under the term "vesiculobullous" are considered to have an autoimmune basis with............

Abstract: The awareness that adult hypertension has its origin in childhood has raised interest on screening for elevated blood pressure (BP) in adolescent. Blood pressure is found to be increased among population having high BMI. Both are risk factors for many noncommunicable diseases like ischemic heart disease (IHD), cardiovascular disease (CVA), diabetes mellitus (DM) and certain cancers which lead to morbidity and mortality of the patients. The objective of the study was to establish relationship between Blood pressure and BMI among medical students of West Bengal. Total 99 students of 1st year MBBS students having age between 17-24 years were selected using random sampling method. Written consent of all the students was obtained. Parameters used in the study were height.......

Abstract: Ectodermal dysplasia is a hereditary disease characterized by dysplasia of tissues of ectodermal origin. Hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia(HED) is the most common type which presents with typical facial features. Ocular manifestations seen in this disease though rare are mainly ocular surface related. Keratoconus is a noninflammatory ectatic disorder of cornea, its association has been described with many systemic syndromes and hereditary diseases. However its association with HED is very rare. This case report discusses the systemic, ocular manifestations, and ocular treatment plan (tuck in lamellar keratoplasty for keratoconus) for HED and keratoconus. The treatment would provide functional boost to the patient in view of better visual outcome..

Abstract: The reconstruction of the leg defects is one of the most challenging problems for plastic and reconstructive surgeons. The current approaches are still challenging. We show an easy and useful option to obtain the coverage of traumatic pretibial defects of upper, middle and lower third of leg with good aesthetic and functional results. The choice is Bipedicle flap which avoids other surgical procedures that require more stages, operatingtime, specialequipments andadequatetraining.

Abstract: Migraine is a primary headache that may be triggered by exposure to a potential "trigger‟. METHODS: Migraine triggers in 111 patients with migraine who attended the headache clinic at the Madras Institute of Neurology were documented by a questionnaire approach. The questionnaire included 22 sets of migraine triggers. RESULTS: Stress (45%) was identified to be the most common trigger followed by weather changes (20.7%) and cold drinks (15.3%) as possible triggers. 10.8% were unaware of any possible trigger and most were not aware of other triggers. All patients were educated about all possible triggers and were advised to maintain a headache diary. CONCLUSION: It is important to identify these triggers and avoidance of these triggers reduces the frequency of attacks. Management of stress will help in reducing the morbidity of headaches..

Abstract: The authors describe a case of Epsen Brrr virus infection (EBV) in a five-year-old girl. In the field of otorhinolaryngology diagnostics, and in the strong suspicion of a viral disease, the study of the nasal mucosa has highlighted the presence of atipical lymphocyte cells . This observation led the authors to anti-EBV antibody research and a blood count. These investigations confirmed the diagnostic suspicion.
