Abstract: Introduction: Involvement of the subtalar joint in fracture calcaneus malunion may give rise to chronic pain and permanent functional impairment. This study evaluated the functional result of subtalar joint fusion and effectiveness of a technique using double lag screw from the posteroinferior calcaneus to the talus. Materials and Methods: In between JULY 2019 and July 2020, we performed 10 isolated subtalar arthrodeses by double lag screw technique from posteroinferior calcaneus to talus. The average patient age was 39 (range 28–50) years. There were 7 males and 3 females. All the cases were followed for upto 8 months after the procedure. Results: 9 out of 10 joints were fused except one who developed infection, resulting in an overall fusion rate of above 90%. The average time for......

Abstract: Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) is a chronic mucocutaneous inflammatory disease that often affects the bilateral buccal mucosa, tongue, and gingiva, but rarely occurs on the palate and lips. This case report aims to describe the occurrence of OLP on the lips in a 49-year-old woman, which occurred for about 3 months before, and clinically appear to be similar with Herpes Associated Erythema Multiforme (HAEM). On examination, there were erosive lesions with crusting on the lips and erosive lesions on the buccal mucosa. The patient received systemic and topical corticosteroid and multivitamin. After 2,5 months, lesions on the lips experienced significant healing. OLP on the lips is a rare case, making it harder to recognise, difficult to detect, and causing misdiagnosis. HAEM was ruled out due to.....

Abstract: Background: Rapid rise in non-communicable diseases (NCD) has become a major public health challenge in Sri Lanka. Healthy lifestyle centers (HLCs) were established in 2011 for screening of NCDs and risk factors with majority of them functioning at primary care institutions. A web based HIMS-HLC module was developed to gather screening data from HLCs. Objective of the study was to assess the post-training status of the Healthcare workers (HCW) conducting HLCs trained on HLC-HIMS module in Sri Lanka. Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in June 2021 among 119 HCW attached to the HLC trained on HLC-HIMS module selected using simple random sampling. The questionnaire was formulated based on Kirkpatrick model covering four domains i.e., reaction, learning, behaviour and result. Data were collected by using a pre-tested self-administered questionnaire........

Abstract: Background: Carcinoma of the gallbladder is an aggressive disease with a poor prognosis. Gallbladder Carcinoma is more common in females than males. Most of the patients with Gallbladder Carcinoma presents in advanced stage and often unresectable though Surgical resection is the only effective treatment. So, most of the patients receive only palliative therapy. Aims and Objective : To study the clinical presentation and management of carcinoma gallbladder in the department of Surgery, AMCH, Dibrugarh during the study period. Materials and Methods: Hospital based observational study, was conducted from 1st June 2018 to 31st May 2019 in the department of Surgery, AMCH, Dibrugarh. 61 patients with carcinoma gallbladder were evaluated during the study period........

Abstract: The temporomandibular joint (TMJ), rightly called as craniomandibular articulation is a highly specialized joint in both anatomy and function as unlike other synovial joints in the body, the articular surfaces of TMJ are covered with avascular fibrocartilage instead of hyaline cartilage. Currently there are three acceptable management modalities available for total TMJ reconstruction (TJR) which include - autogenous bone grafts (fibula, metatarsal, clavicle, iliac crest and costochondral) and alloplastic replacement(acrylic, synthetic fibers, ulnar head prosthesis, compressible silicone rubber and total joint systems) and transport distraction osteogenesis techniques. Current reconstructive techniques lie in favor of autogenous replacement in children and alloplasts in adults. Bioengineered TMJ devices are currently being investigated and may be a futuristc viable option for TJR.

Abstract: 3 neonates presented with severe pallor in early gestational period .Complete blood count with peripheral smear examination showed abnormal cells suggestive of Congenital Leukemia which was a Rare diagnosis.Bone Marrow Examination confirmed the Diagnosis. All patients needed blood transfusion. However,Immunohistochemistry and Cytogenetic study could not be done due to paucity of investigation in our institute and patients were referred to higher centre.

Abstract: "I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet"-Helen Keller
In terms of grief, losing a part of the body may be on par with that of losing a loved one be it a digit or an entire leg. This loss is usually unexpected and traumatic especially for a piece of oneself which has been well known and been neglected through-out life, has gone forever or changed. Amputation is not something which anyone could find in the brain's dictionary of words. It becomes of utmost importance in this fast-paced life of ours to prevent unnecessary amputations especially in the wake of chronic diseases like Diabetes Mellitus. In India, as opposed to western countries
