Abstract:Tamoxifen is an adjuvant hormone therapy used orally in breast cancer. Retinal toxicity to this product is an extremely rare condition. It is frequently characterized by its edematous and dose-dependent form. stopping this treatment stops the development and prevents bilateralization of the pathology. We report the case of a 46-year-old patient, under hormone therapy with tamoxifen for 3 years for hormone-sensitive breast cancer, in whom atrophic maculopathy was discovered following a gradual decline in visual acuity that has progressed over the past year..

Abstract: This is a case report of a female patient aged 50 years who visited the Dept. of oral and maxillofacial surgery with a chief complaint of a swelling in her left palatal side with no history of pain or similar symptoms. The swelling was seen since 4 to 5years and was slow growing in nature. After a detailed clinical evaluation, a clinical provisional diagnosis of pleomorphic adenoma was stated and the patient was advised for surgical excision and biopsy. Post surgical Histopathological biopsy report was stated as Schwannoma.

Abstract: Background: Even though COPD among non-smokers (NS-COPD) is common, very less is known about this phenotype. We compared NS-COPD subjects with smoking COPD (S-COPD) patients in a tertiary care centre using a variety of criterias like age, sex, residence, biomass exposure , spirometry and radiology. Material & Methods: The present observational study was conducted at department of respiratory medicine of our tertiary care hospital. In our study, we enrolled 200 study participants presented in our OPD , who were presented with signs and symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Clearance from Institutional Ethics Committee was taken before start of study. Written informed consent was taken from each study participant.......

Abstract: Background: Tracheostomy is a prevalent surgical procedure utilised in the management of critically ill patients requiring prolonged mechanical ventilation. The decannulation process holds significant importance in the recovery of patients who are dependent on tracheostomy for prolonged mechanical ventilation. Nevertheless, this particular procedure may be linked to considerable risks of morbidity and mortality. Objective: The aim of this study is to communicate the results and knowledge gained from a two-year examination of decannulation within a diverse group of 100 individuals who had previously undergone tracheostomy.......

Abstract: Goldenhar syndrome, also known as oculo-auriculo-vertebral syndrome is a disorder with craniofacial morphogenesis. Goldenhar syndrome (GS) is characterized by craniofacial anomalies in association with vertebral, cardiac, renal, and central nervous defects. The syndrome is characterized by a classical triad of 1) mandibular hypoplasia resulting in facial asymmetry, 2) ocular and auricular malformations and 3) vertebral anomalies. In this article, we report a case of goldenhar syndrome describing about clinical features and importance of early diagnosis.

Abstract: Aim and objectives: The purpose of the study is to evaluate & compare the flexural strength and hardness of heat-polymerized PMMA when reinforced with Kevlar fibers, nylon fibers, metal mesh, and fiberglass mesh. Materials and methods: A total of 50 rectangular specimens of similar dimensions of heat-cured acrylic resin, 10 specimens of each group were fabricated according to ISO standardization. Group I (control group) consisted of specimens with no reinforcement. Specimens in group II were reinforced with nylon fibers. Group III specimens were reinforced with Kevlar fibers. Specimens in group IV were reinforced with metal mesh. Specimens in Group V were reinforced with glass fiber mesh. FS was evaluated with a three‑point bending test and hardness using the Rockwell hardness test. The results were analyzed with a one‑way analysis of variance......

Abstract: Background: Pulpectomy is the treatment of choice for primary teeth with irreversible pulpitis or pulpal necrosis. Mechanical instrumentation is of utmost importance and can be accomplished by instrumentation with hand, rotary or reciprocating systems. Aims: The study aims to assess and compare the instrumentation time taken and quality of obturation using two pediatric NITI rotary files e.g., Kedo SG Blue and Prime PedoTM with ISO hand K File in deciduous teeth. Materials and Methods: A double blinded study was planned where pulpectomy was performed on primary mandibular second molars in children of age 4–9 years . Sixty primary mandibular second molars were randomly......

Abstract: Oral disease greatly affects quality of life, as the oral cavity plays an essential role in our day-to-day life including speech, mastication, food and liquid consumption. Treatment of oral disease is greatly limited by the dose forms that are currently available, which suffer from short contact times, poor site specificity, and sensitivity to mechanical stimulation. Mucoadhesive patches prepared using electrospinning offer the potential to address these challenges by allowing unidirectional site-specific drug delivery through intimate contact with the mucosa and with high surface areas to facilitate drug release. This review will discuss the range of electrospun mucoadhesive devices that have recently been reported to address oral inflammatory diseases, pain relief, and infections.
