Abstract: Aneurysmal bone cyst is a benign cystic lesion of bone known since 1942 mainly involving the long bones. We present a rare case report of 32 year old femalewith complaint of upper back ache. It was diagnosed on basis of MRI findings and then surgically excised and confirmed on histopathological examination.

Abstract: Introduction: Several methods have been proposed to alleviate pain after hysterectomy. Local infiltration of the surgical wound is one of the important components of multimodal analgesia for post-operative pain relief. This study determines the post-operative analgesic effect of addition of dexmedetomidine and fentanyl to bupivacaine for local infiltration of the surgical wound.
Methods: 40 patients with ASA class of I or II scheduled for abdominal hysterectomy were recruited for the study. The patients were randomly assigned to Group A` (control group) where patients received wound infiltration with 30 mL 0.25% bupivacaine and 25μg of fentanyl.........

Abstract: Aim:To evaluate the influence of the type of mastication (temporal and masseteric) on the functional state of the masticatory system. Material and method:The examinations were conducted at the Institute of Medical and Experimental Physiology, Faculty of Medicine in Skopje. The study included 96 respondents (35 males and 63 females). The type of mastication is determined by examining the biopotentials of the masseter and temporal muscles of the subjects. Subsequently, their masticatory efficiency with determined using a specially constructed instrument, ELECTROMASTICIOGRAPH, which graphically processes and records the mandibulemovements and the chewing muscles during the masticatory act. The mechanical efficacy is determined by the number of chewing cycles and the time of mastication. Walnuts.... .......

Abstract: Surgery plays a major role in ovarian cancers. Successful cytoreductive surgery is significantly associated with improved survival. As the disease load increases, the surgical complexity also increases. Complex surgical procedures require specialized training. This study aims to determine the need for complex surgical procedures in the management of epithelial ovarian cancers. A retrospective analysis of hospital records of cases of ovarian cancers, from May 2015 to June 2017 was done . 54 cases of surgically treated Epithelial Ovarian Cancers were taken for final analysis .Interval cytoreduction was the most common surgical procedure performed , accounting for 75.9% of cases. Optimal cytoreduction , defined as less than 1 cm residual disease , was achieved.............

Abstract: Meticulous autopsy not only provides information regarding cause and circumstances leading to death but also helps in estimating time since death. The inspection of gastric contents must be part of every post-mortem examination because if the time of taking last meal is known, the approximate time since death may be calculated indirectly. It has been determined through extensive research that under ordinary circumstances the stomach empties its contents 4 to 6 hours after intake of meal. Present study was conducted on randomly selected 1000 postmortem cases, out of which in 507 cases, history regarding time of last meal was available. Gastric emptying of food contents was divided............

Abstract: Background: Acute pancreatitis is a very common surgical cause of acute abdomen with many associated morbidities and mortality. Therefore it is imperative to diagnose the condition at an early stage and accurately. Serum amylase or lipase levels when elevated to more than 3 times the upper limit of normal can accurately diagnose acute pancreatitis in most of the cases. Serum lipase has a better sensitivity and specificiy than serum amylase, still serum amylase is the most frequent biochemical test performed worldwide for diagnosis of acute pancreatitis. The levels of these enzymes have no correlation with the severity of the disease. Aim of study: The aim of this study was to evaluate whether serum amylase alone can help in the diagnosis acute pancreatitis............

Abstract: In the 21st century, we have witnessed an explosion in the internet usage. Though the benefits offered by internet are many, there is a rising concern about its negative effects. Adolescents and young adults are particularly more vulnerable to the psychological effects of internet Globally there is an 82 % increase in 2009 with an average of 5.5 hours spend on internet and other social networks (Nielsenwire, 2010).This wide usage of internet made people get addicted to it. The prevalence of internet addiction in various studies have been in the range of 4 to 7 % The term " Internet addiction disorder " was first coined by New York psychiatrist Ivan Goldberg (1995) which means excessive use of internet with symptoms like anger, tension, and anxiety..................

Abstract: Diabetes mellitus induced dyslipidemia is the root cause of life threatening micro and macro vascular complications in type-2 diabetic subjects. The principle predictor of diabetes induced cardio vascular complications which are normally employed are becoming less consistent due to use of various lipid lowering agents. It has been suggested that plasma triacylglycerol levels alone is an independent risk factor of cardio vascular complications in diabetes mellitus. The cholesterol profile and their internal ratios may through much light on prediction of dyslipidemia induced cardio vascular complications in diabetes mellitus. Hence a study was planned to assess the plasma cholesterol profile and their internal reciprocals in type-2 diabetes mellitus. A fasting blood sample from both Normal subjects...........

Abstract: The location of apical constriction is paramount for a successful endodontic therapy. Electronic apex locators operate on the basis of conductance of electricity through hollow tube. Useful when the apical portion of the canal is obscured by anatomic structures, such as impacted teeth, tori, the zygomatic arch, excessive bone density, overlapping roots, or shallow palatal vaults. Electronic apex locators reduce the radiation dose and treatment time. The Frequency Dependent Apex Locators are based on the principle that there is a maximum difference of impedance between electrodes depending on the frequencies used. The major advantages with these apex locators are that they operate in an electroconductive environment in the presence of pus, and pulpal tissue remnants. The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of dual frequency based electronic apex locators under clinical conditions. This study was done on 40 single rooted non carious teeth designated for extraction for orthodontic or periodontal...........

Abstract: Background: Despite advances in diagnosis, management and critical care of patients with perforation peritonitis, prognosis remains poor. Early assessment by scoring systems will influence the management and prognosis. Over the years, many prognostic systems have been developed to stratify critical patients into different categories. Some are complex in their application whereas some are not specific for the disease condition. Mannheim peritonitis index (MPI) is one such prognostic system that helps us to estimate the probability of patient survival in cases of perforation peritonitis. Aim of our study is, to confirm the predicative value of MPI and analysis of different parameters among patients with intra-operative diagnosis of perforation peritonitis............

Abstract: Introduction: Bone resorption is a physiological process, which occurs after tooth extraction. Reduction of the bone in horizontal and vertical dimension leads to difficulties in the following treatment plan, including implant placement and prosthetic treatment. Recently PRF has been successfully used as a soft and hard tissue regenerative material. Case Report: A 37-year old female with a non-restorable molar tooth was treated with tooth extraction and socket preservation with PRF as a sole grafting material. Clinical and histological results were reviewed 4 months after tooth extraction and a dental implant was placed..........
