Abstract: AIM: We compared possible outcomes, pros and cons of laparoscopic retrocolic / Transmesocolic pyeloplasty in 32 patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Between 2011 and 2016, we analysed all the particulars /datas - presentation age, renal pelvis size, lower pole vessels, with or without stones. Selection of cases , left side- transmesocolic and Both sides retrocolic LP was done. Total number of cases 32. Approaches -Transmesocolic 12 and retrocolic 20. Follow up period -24months. Outcome analysed were, symptom free, anatomical Reduction, physiological drainage, advantages of procedures. RESULTS: Average Age group was 12 years for transmesocolic LP, 18years for Retrocolic LP. Operative time 140 mins. Transmesocolic approach 30 mins less than retrocolic LP. CONCLUSION:.............

Methodology: Community based assessment was done using LQAS technique by interview of 207 mothers who have delivered within one year using semi-structured interview schedule since 2013 to 2017. SPSS has been used to analyze the data. Results: Mothers have been registered for antenatal care were 57% (118), 63.8% (132), 66.7% (138) and 72.9% (151) respectively over successively four years and never registered 8.7% (18), 5.3% (11), 3.9% (8) and 2.4% (5) respectively. Abstract: Introduction: Oral cancers are the sixth most common cancer in the world. It is most frequent in fifth to sixth decade of life and are mostly associated with risk factors like smoking, alcohol consumption, and tobacco chewing in any form. Aims & Objectives: To study the histopathological spectrum of oral cavity neoplasms at different sites and associated risk factors. Materials & Methods: All the cases of oral cavity neoplasms were included in the study in a two year period. Results: Out of 112 cases of oral cavity neoplasms, 104 were malignant, five benign tumors and three dysplasias. Among the oral cancers, Squamous cell carcinoma was the commonest constituting 95 cases and nine rare cases were identified...........

Abstract: Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy generally have many side effects that cause physiological coping strategies to be able to adapt and psychological side effects such as anxiety. Social interaction in the form of social support obtained from family plays a role in adaptation to cancer patients. This study aims to examine the relationship of family support and coping strategies with anxiety. The samples were 102 cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at the Hospital Dr. Pirngadi Medan. (1) The family support received cancer patients, more than half receive family support were medium as many as 54 people (53.0%). Coping strategies that use strategies Problem Focused Coping (PFC), more than half strategy PFC were medium as many as 56 people (54.9%). Anxiety experienced cancer patients, more than half anxiety was medium as many as 53 people (51.9%), (2) There is a negative relationship between..........

Abstract: Diabetes mellitus is a common endocrine disorder. Its knowledge is important because of high prevalence. This metabolic syndrome is characterized by an inappropriate elevation of blood glucose levels associated with alterations in lipid and protein metabolism, for which a relative or absolute lack of insulin is responsible. Diabetes is certainly to be one of the most common and challenging health problem in the 21st century. In 1994 there were 20 million diabetics in India. In year 2000, they were 35 million and in year 2003, the number reached upto 55 million1. Lower extremity ulcers represent a major concern for patients with diabetes, in view of both, the quality and an economic standpoint. Concerned.........

Abstract: Background: Nosocomial infection due to poor hand hygiene is significant cause of increasing morbidity, mortality and health care costs among hospitalized patients worldwide. But, compliance with hand hygiene among health care providers is as low as 40%."My five moments for hand hygiene" by WHO has helped to address the problem to a great extent. This study was undertaken to identify gaps in knowledge regarding hand hygiene practices among medical students using WHO hand hygiene questionnaire to promote hand washing compliance. Aim: This study was conducted to assess level of knowledge among medical students of Burdwan Medical College & Hospital, West Bengal.........

The frequencies of ABO and Rh blood groups vary from one population to another and time to time in the same region. Hence this study was conducted to determine the Distribution of ABO and Rhesus (Rh) blood groups in blood donors in Blood Bank, jhalawar hospital & Medical College Society,Jhalawar. Materials and Methods: The present retrospective study was carried out at Blood Bank, jhalawar hospital & Medical College Society,Jhalawar,Rajastha,India, during the 1 year period from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2017. The blood collections were taken from the voluntary donors at outdoor blood donation camp and in house Blood Bank as well as........

Abstract: Clomiphene citrate(Clomid) is a Selective Estrogen Modulator used to induce ovulation.1Many side effects of Clomiphene citrate were reported including mood swings and hot flashes.2 Stimulation of multiple follicles and consequently multiple gestation is a complication of Clomid. Skin rash is a reported non-serious and un common side effect of Clomid.3 We report a case of a 31-year-old female who developed thinning and whitening of the vulvararea after taking clomid..

Abstract: Introduction: fibre-optic bronchoscopy (FOB) is one of the most important techniques in pulmonary medicine. The diagnostic and therapeutic uses of FOB, with less morbidity and mortality have led to its increase use in critically ill patients. As FOB allows direct inspection of airways under topical anaesthesia, it facilitates the early diagnosis and management of variety of pulmonary diseases. Aims & objectives: We undertook this study at our institute to assess the yield of flexible fibre-optic bronchoscope in ICU, to look for complications associated with FOB in ICU and to judge the safety of FOB in ICU...........

Abstract: Introduction: Smile is one of the most essential human facial expressions. Earlier orthodontic treatment was only focused on teeth alignment, occlusal relationship and function. However, patients are more concerned about their facial esthetics. Most patients nowadays seek orthodontic treatment only for esthetic purposes. Therefore, it is important for an orthodontist to be able to assess smile esthetics in such patients. There have been numerous studies regarding smile esthetics, but there was lack of data on its effect on different growth patterns. Aim: To quantitatively assess the relationship between smile esthetics variables and different types of growth patterns. Method: Pretreatment frontal photographs of 60 adult patients were taken and divided into three groups according to the SN-MP angles, i.e. Horizontal growth, Average and Vertical growth pattern. The smile variables the arc ratio, number of maxillary teeth exposed, upper lip height, buccal corridor ratio, smile index, lower teeth exposure.........

Abstract: Introduction : Perforation is defined as an abnormal opening in any organ or viscous. Perforation of hollow viscous is one of the common surgical emergency in India ..Chronic alcoholism, Smoking, chronic use of Non steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) are major risk factors for perforations Materials and methods : This study was hospital based prospective study conducted from September 2016 to January 2018. A total number of 171 cases were included in our study. The details of age, sex, anatomical location of perforation, signs and symptoms, complications and etiology were analyzed. Results: In our study, out of 171 patients, 133 were males (77.78%). 20 to 40 years of age group are most susceptible for perforation..........

Abstract: Background: Polymorphisms of various cytokine genes are known to influence the pathogenesis and severity of several inflammatory conditions. The association of these polymorphisms with chronic periodontitis(CP) susceptibility has been found to be diverse amongst different ethnic populations. This study was aimed to determine the distribution of IL-1β+3954 (rs1143634)gene polymorphismin healthy controls(HC) andCP and to explore their association with periodontal status. Methodology:The above polymorphism was analysed amongst HC(n=56) and CP patients (n=79). Genotyping was performed using PCR-RFLPassay. Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis ANOVA test were applied to find out the differences in genotypes of SNPs with.........
