Abstract: Introduction: Vitiligo patients can be benefitted from the growth factors, cytokine and other anti-inflammatory mediators secreted from the alpha and beta granules of platelets, which helps in local immune regulation and thereby preventing damage of melanocytes and inhibition of melanin synthesis. Based upon this idea the present study was conducted to discern the actual application and benefit of platelet rich plasma (PRP) and umbilical cord blood (UCB) therapy in vitiligo patients. Materials and Methods: A total number of 120 patients from all over India, suffering from Vitiligo were enrolled in this open prospective study. The study period was from July 2016 till June 2018. One unit Buffy coat platelet/ single donor platelet/Cord...........

Abstract: The Government of Bangladesh has made primary health centers institutions to provide primary health services for rural and tribal sectors. But shortcomings in the delivery of health care services has resulted in lesser utilization rates. Patient's perception about quality of care often determines whether they seek and continue to use services. The aim of this study was to determine the common motivators for the OPD attendees to come to the RHC for health services and to record the perception regarding the quality of health care received from the OPDs of the RHC. A cross-sectional study was carried out in Rural Health Centre (RHC) in Homna Upzala Cumilla Bangladesh.........

Abstract: Splint therapy is a proven modality for alleviating the pain of many types of temporomandibular disorders and bruxism, though questions still remain regarding how splints work. Despite the predictable results of the therapy in treatment of temporomandibular dysfunction, it is still considered by many clinicians as a mysterious treatment as the physiology of treatment response is less understood. The purpose of this article is to provide an understanding of various aspects of splint therapy like how splints work, what are the various splint types and their uses, functions of a splint how to ensure their proper design, fabrication, and adjustment..........

Abstract: Background: Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM) is a common infectious disease in both developing and developed countries. The disease is more common in children belonging to lower socio-economic group. It is an important cause of preventable hearing loss, particularly in the developing world. Prevalence in India is 7.8% .CSOM is the result of an initial episode of acute otitis media and is characterized by a persistent discharge from the middle ear through a tympanic perforation[1]. In many cases of CSOM the antibiotics are prescribed indiscriminately. The consequences are treatment failure, the emergence of resistant strains of organisms, super-infection, intracranial and extracranial complications and lengthening the treatment costs and suffering. Antibiotic sensitivity pattern is very important for the clinician to plan a general outline of treatment for a patient with a chronically discharging ear. Therefore in the present study, we have aimed at isolation..........

Abstract: Objective: FNAC is a safe, rapid and useful procedure for detection and confirmation of palpable cutaneous and subcutaneous lesions which can arise due to a variety of conditions including inflammatory, neoplastic or metastatic from a primary site. The present study was carried out with the objective of studying the efficacy of FNAC in cytomorphological spectrum of common as well as some uncommon cutaneous lesions and in rapid detection of these cases. Methods: A total of 180 cases of cutaneous and subcutaneous lesions in the year 2017 were reviewed retrospectively from cytology files. Cytologically proven different organic lesions including lymph nodes have been excluded from the present study .Results: Majority of cases comprised of epidermal cysts, ganglion, lipomas,......

Abstract: Individuals who secrete their blood group antigens in the body fluids are called secretors and individuals who do not secrete are called non-secretors. Non-secretors of blood group antigens have been found to be associated with many infectious and autoimmune diseases by many previous studies. The aims of our study were to find out any association between ABO blood group, RhD blood group and secretor status of ABH substances with the patients of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. This Case Control study was carried out in the Department of Transfusion Medicine in collaboration with the Department of Medicine, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal Manipur........

Abstract: Objective: Preeclampsia is the major cause for feto-maternal complication affecting 5-10% of all pregnancy which is linked with periodontitis which is one of the cause for it. As these have adverse effects upon pregnant women, the present study was intended with an objective to determine the importance of an inflammatory marker C-Reactive protein level in pregnant women with periodontal disease and to correlate with severity of periodontitis in preeclamptic pregnant women and also to determine the salivary pH , flow rate and specific gravity.........
