Abstract: The aim of the study was to access effectiveness of corticosteroid injections and Platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections in treatment of lateral epicondylitis using visual analogue scale (VAS), Disability of arm, shoulder and hand (DASH) score, painfree grip strength. Our study was conducted on 60 patients who attended orthopaedic opd with lateral epicondylitis which were randomly assigned to PRP group (n=30) and corticosteroid group (n=30). Patients were followed up for two years. Success was defined as a 25% reduction in VAS or DASH score and 25% increase in painfree grip strength. Both groups significantly improved across time. When baseline VAS, DASH score and painfree grip strength were compared with scores at two year followup, the DASH score and painfree grip strength of corticosteroid group was returning to baseline scores, while those of PRP group significantly improved.....

Abstract: Background Surgical procedure in symptomatic hemorrhoid, either closed and open hemorrhoidectomy, always associate with long duration of high grade post operative pain, long time of recovery, and various post operative complication. Some new operation technique had been introduced to solve the problem above. The Doppler Guided Hemorrhoid Artery Ligation (DGHAL) technique had decreased the post operative pain successfully. In the developing countries, the limitation in using protoscope Doppler solved by some modification of DGHAL technique, known as Modified Hemorrhoid Artery Ligation (MHAL) that switch the use of hemorrhoid artery Doppler with palpation of artery pulsation in its anatomic location. In 2009, Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and.......

Abstract: Background: Chronic subdural hematoma is one of the most common clinical conditions presenting to neurosurgery departments. Presumed to be a disease of the elderly, chronic subdural hematoma is detected in younger patients relatively rarely. Detailed studies worldwide for presenting features and etiopathology of chronic SDH in younger individuals has resulted in an increased rate of detection of the same in this age group as well. Methods: Here a sample of 160 patients who presented to the department of neurosurgery ,Govt Medical College, Kozhikode over two years from 2018-2019 are analysed for the etiopathologic factors, clinical features ,course of disease, prognosis and complications...

Abstract: A patient consulted for proteinuria with cloudy, milky urine. The whole situation is explained by a chyluria for which the etiological assessment shows a lymphatic-urinary fistula probably following repeated ectopic pregnancies. The diagnosis of chyluria is based on cytological and biochemical analyses of the urine. Lymphatic-urinary fistula can be detected by different imaging techniques (cystoscopy, retrograde pyelography, lymphoscintigraphy; lympho-MRI). Chyluria affects both men and women and the etiologies are mostly parasitic (filariasis, echinococcosis, cysticercosis, Ascaris, malaria, tapeworm) and rarely non-parasitic (tuberculosis, fungal infections and leprosy, congenital abnormalities of the lymphatic system, neoplasia, trauma, lymphatic stasis, pregnancy, aortic aneurysms and lymphatic obstruction after surgery).......

Abstract: Introduction: Vascular malformations are congenital lesions due to abnormal embryonic development of vascular structures and they are subdivided into arteriovenous, capillary, venous, lymphatic and combined malformations. Case report : A 16year old boy came to surgical OPD with complaints of swelling on the back on left side since 6 months. There was no history of trauma, fever. The swelling was insidious in onset, gradually progressive. It was initially of small size and increased to attain the present size. On examination, the swelling was noted in left thoraco-lumbar region approximately of size 10X8cm.The swelling was immobile. Skin was pinchable. No skin changes were noted. The swelling........

Abstract: Background: The objective of this study was to compare between stress produced by maxillary fixed-detachable prosthesis around the implants placed with different angulations following All-On-Four Concept. Methods: For this study, two standardized maxillary epoxy models were made, surgical guides were fabricated by CAD/CAM according to desired angulations. Two groups were designed, for group A implants were inserted following All-On-Four concept with 45 degrees distal angulation of distal implants while for Group B implants were inserted following All-On-Four concept with 30 degrees distal angulation of distal implants. Fixed detachable prosthesis was made for 2 groups by plastic.....

Abstract: Hepatitis E is one of the major causes of acute viral hepatitis globally. It affects millions of people, leading to thousands of death every year. It was thought to be common in developing countries, however it has posed equal threat to developed nations in the near decades. Endemic regions experience waterborne epidemics usually, while sporadic cases in industrialized areas are mainly of zoonotic origin. Risk group persons include pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals, patients with chronic liver diseases, persons in close contact with HEV infected animals, infants and older people. Both acute and chronic infections are seen, along with a wide range of extra hepatic manifestations. A large number of cases undergo unrecognized or misdiagnosed due to inadequate knowledge and awareness of........

Abstract: Hamartomas are benign malformations composed of tissue elements normally found at that site, but which are growing in a disorganized fashion. Lipofibromatous harmartomas (LFH) are rare lesions that require early diagnosis and treatment. LFH is characterised by fibrofatty infiltration around the nerve fascicles which differentiates them from other intraneural tumours. They usually present as macrodactyly or later as a mass lesion or symptoms due to compressive neuropathy. MRI is an important diagnostic tool confirmed with a tissue biopsy. Treatment for macrodactyly is generally debulking, joint reconstruction, amputation or prophylactic decompression of affected nerves at all points of possible compression.....

Abstract: Background: The most common abdominal surgery in the pediatric population is acute appendicitis. Case presentation: Herein, we report a 15-year-old female who appeared in the emergency department with a two-day history of abdominal pain localized in the right iliac fossa. The pain was associated with fever (37.8 oC), nausea, and anorexia. Physical examination disclosed deep tenderness at McBurney point, positive Rovsing's sign, and rebound tenderness. Laboratory tests revealed leukocytosis, increased neutrophils, and increased C-reactive protein. The result of a COVID19 nasal viral test performed in the hospital was positive. As a result, no other imaging.........

Abstract: Summary: Pneumatic retinopexy is a retinal reattachment procedure involving trans conjunctival injection of gas into the vitreous cavity. The patients are commonly advised against air travel during the first weeks following the surgery due to intraocular pressure variation. We report the case of a patient presenting with a spontaneous globe rupture occurring during a flight 3 weeks after his retinal detachment surgery. In the era of growing air traffic, more studies are needed to establish criteria for air travel safety after vitreo retinal surgery. This case highlights the importance of thoroughly informing the patient about any procedure adverse outcomes.......

Abstract: Introduction: Gestational age estimation through ultrasonography is a critical aspect for assessing the fetal age. For the assessment various parameters have been used line Biparital diameter, abdominal circumference, head circumference, femur length. Transcerebellar diameter is an additional parameter for the measurement of the accuracy. In our study we assessed the accuracy of transcerebellar diameter in 2nd trimester. Materials and Methodology: This Prospective cross sectional study was conducted in the Dept of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Government medical college and hospital Akola,Maharashtra between September 2018 to August 2019. This study included 100 antenatal women of gestational age from 14 weeks to 27+6 weeks who attended antenatal clinic in the Dept of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Government medical college and hospital (GMCH), Akola, Maharashtra.
