Fifty cases of acute bacterial peritonitis secondary to gastro intestinal tract perforations were encountered during the study period of three years from 01.08.2017 to 31.10.2020. Results : Upper Gastro-intestinal......

Abstract: Dentists face great challenges in the aesthetic rehabilitation of these young children who has suffered multiple tooth loss subsequent to rampant early childhood caries. Caries in the mandibular region is rare, restorative solutions for mandibular incisors are needed. The present case report discusses about the fabrication and placement of a fixed type of an anterior esthetic appliance for mandible. It constituted a design, whereby the mandibular primary second molars were used to support the appliance through bands and a wire that contained an acrylic flange bearing trimmed acrylic teeth, anteriorly. The appliance was functionally and esthetically compliant.

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Periapical surgery is an endodontist's last option for effectively treating periapical lesions caused by pulp necrosis. A variety of regenerative materials, such as bone grafts, growth factors, and membranes, influence the healing outcome of periapical surgery.
PRESENTATION OF CASE :The primary goal of the two cases presented here was to evaluate the potential benefits of a combination of bone graft, platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), and amnion membrane in terms of reduced post-operative discomfort and radiographic evidence of accelerated periapical bone healing.A case of radicular cysts treated with a combination of Sybograf®, PRF, and amnion membrane regeneration. The patient was evaluated for discomfort both immediately after surgery......

Abstract: Anterior teeth frequently present with weakened coronal and radicular tooth structure. Restoring such teeth can be challenging owing to the compromised geometry. The flared canal can be due to developmental defects, internal resorption or open apex. Trauma is very common in young age leading to incomplete root formation. Apexification using calcium hydroxide is a long process and the quality of calcific barrier obtained may be inadequate. Nowadays, one visit apexification with MTA is generally preferred. Earlier, metal post or prefabricated fibre post were used to rehabilitate such teeth. However, they do not adapt to the canal anatomy causing inadequate stress distribution. The root canal of such debilitated teeth can be reinforced by intraradicular rehabilitation. This paper presents a technique of restoring grossly mutilated teeth with Ribbond fiber and composite resin..

Abstract: Back ground: Thyroid malignancy is the most common endocrine malignancy. Its incidence is on increasing trend in recent years. Thyroid cancer is a cancer that develops from tissues of thyroid gland.it is a disease in which cells grow abnormally and have the potential to spread to other parts of the body. women are more affected often than men. Asian descents are more commonly affected. It most commonly occurs between ages of 35 to 65 years. Materials and Methods: The study of 100 cases selected by prospective cohort study technique, patients with goiter undergoing evaluation and admitted in surgical wards of Coimbatore medical college hospital, Coimbatore. during the period from January........

Abstract: A 55-year-old man was referred for growing lesions on his left eyelid for several years. The patient had not seen a physician during the progression of the disease.
On admission, a large ulcerated lesion was seen on his left upper eyelid (Figur.1).
Ophthalmologic examination objective a 10/10 visual acuity bilaterally. Ocular tone was normal in both eyes.
Slit lamp examination showed no abnormalities in the anterior segment and fundus.
Cerbro-orbital imaging showed no loco regional invasion; extension workup for secondary locations was unremarkable.
A fine needle biopsy of the lesion was performed........

Abstract: Background: Marginal fit plays an important role in the long-term success of restorations. Inadequate marginal adaptation of the crown to abutment leads to vertical or horizontal discrepancies which are detrimental to tooth and cause failure of the prosthesis. Traditionally, metal copings were fabricated by lost wax technique. Advancements in dental technology led to development of sophisticated methods like direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) for casting metal crowns. There is limited data on marginal fit of fixed prosthesis fabricated by direct metal laser sintering technology. We aimed to evaluate and compare the marginal fit of metal copings fabricated by conventional and DMLS techniques with two different finish lines. Materials and Methods: In this in-vitro study, two cobalt chromium alloy models of mandibular first molars with chamfer and radial shoulder......

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Increased plasma levels Homocysteine is now considering as individual risk factors for cerebrovascular disease, myocardial infarction, and peripheral arterial occlusive disease. Hyper homocysteinemia not only accelerates atherosclerosis but also by various mechanisms can increase the incidence of cerebrovascular disease. MATERIAL & METHODS: It was an observational (case control) study done from November 2017 to 2018. The present study was carried out on 50 patients (cases) admitted in the Medicine department, King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam. About 50 asymptomatic controls were taken. Demographic data like......

Abstract: Aim: The aim of our study was to analyze the usefulness of ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration cytology in the diagnosis of intraabdominal and pelvic masses. Material and Methods: The study included 70 clinically and radiologically suspected palpable and non-palpable intra-abdominopelvic lesions studied over a period of 1 year. USG guided FNAC was done in all the non-palpable lesion and for a few selected palpable lesions. Giemsa's and Papanicolaou's stains were used. Results: Cases were reported in age range of 2-78 years with a M: F of 1.1:1. There were 45 (64.2%) malignant, 22 (31.4%) benign and 3 (4.2%) inconclusive cases. Liver and gallbladder were most common involved sites. This study showed 100% specificity and 95% sensitivity for malignant lesions. Conclusion: USG guided FNA cytology is a simple and safe procedure. It can be utilized as a pre-operative procedure for the management of intra-abdominopelvic lesions

Abstract: Objective: To study the impact of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) disease Pandemic lockdown on routine childhood immunization, considering the limited healthcare and transport facilities while reaching the tertiary care hospital. Methods: It was a hospital based observational study done in a tertiary care centre in Western Maharashtra comparing 4 periods of year 2020, each consisting of 4 weeks viz 1-28th of February,1-28th of May and 1-28th of August and 1-28th of December. Results: Total number of vaccine beneficiaries decreased significantly during lockdown from 2687 in February to 1688 in May and improved in August to 2091 and almost to pre-lockdown levels i.e. 2295 in December. The percent reduction was maximally seen in beneficiaries receiving DPT-b1 followed by DPT-1+MR-2, MR-1 and combination vaccines. The category least affected was the birth dose with reduction of 19% during lockdown and 15.6 and 14.3% reduction comparing pre-lockdown levels........
