Abstract: Dental implant restoration has been considered to beone of the most reliable methods for treating partial orcomplete edentulism1–3.But the availability of adequate bone volume for dental implant placement is often diminished due to trauma, pathology, periodontal disease, congenital defectsetc4.There are various bone augmentation techniques available for the reconstruction of such bony defects for implant placement, but they have drawbacks like prolonged waiting period for graft acceptance and surgical reentry for implantation. Here a case is documented which demonstrates the usage of autogenous bone graft harvested from mandibular symphysis region and reconstruction of the bony defect in the maxillary anterior region through guided bone regeneration technique with simultaneous implant placement .In the follow up we are able to achieve good bone regeneration and osseointegration, thus reducing the waiting period by grafting and placing implants simultaneously..

Abstract: Background: Periodic paralysis is a disorder with episodic, hyporeflexic, and short-lived skeletal muscle weakness. Patients present with repeated episodes of the weakness of the limb muscles which last for few hours to few days and are often precipitated by exercises, heavy meals or fasting. hypokalemic periodic paralysis (HPP) is a form of metabolic myopathy, which is characterized by hypokalemia, acute flaccid paralysis, potentially fatal episodes of muscle weakness and lifethreatening cardiac arrhythmias. But prompt and early recognition of this condition and initiation of treatment can lead to excellent recovery. Aim: To study the clinical & biochemical profile of patients of hypokalemic periodic paralysis and to determine the association of dietary habits (fermented rice) with HPP. Methods: The cross-sectional study design with the total........

Abstract: Canine impactionion is most comanly encountered problem in the eruption sequence of permanent teeth. Etiology varies from in each patient. Three quarters of its final root length. the mandibular central incisors and first molars have marginally less root development and mandibular canines and second molars marginally more when they erupt. this therefore can be taken as a diagnostic baseline from which to assess the eruption of teeth in general.incidence of maxxilary canine is more compared to mandibular canine.

Abstract: Introduction- Spontaneous intraperitoneal rupture of the urinary bladder is a rare condition, mostly associated with some underlying chronic conditions necessitating long term catheterization. The preoperative diagnosis is difficult because of its presentation with non specific sign and symptoms. Case Presentation- We are presenting case series of Spontaneous intraperitoneal rupture of the urinary bladder. Both cases were diagnosed intraoperatively because of their presentation similar to that of an acute abdomen due to intestinal perforation. Conclusion- High degree of suspicion is the crux of the pre operative diagnosis. cystography/CT could play an important role in early diagnosis and better outcome..

Abstract: Esthetic treatment of stained arrested caries lesions (ACLs) has mostly been done using invasive restorative techniques. The aim of this paper was to propose and report the efficacy of a conservative approach based on dental bleaching to esthetically treat these lesions. This paper reports a clinical case of pit and fissure-stained ACLs in four posterior teeth and proximal ACL on canine, which were treated with 35 % hydrogen peroxide in-office bleaching. Digital photographs were taken to document the efficacy of the treatment. The lesions showed noticeable increase in color lightness indicating the efficacy and suitability of the proposed approach. By using the conservative clinical technique presented, the esthetics of most stained ACLs could be improved, eliminating the need for invasive restorative treatments..

Abstract: Cancer in the elderly has become an increasingly common problem.. Indeed, epidemiologic studies describe that about 60% of all malignancies occur in people aged 65 years or older , and if the current demographic trends continue, it can be estimated that by 2020 about 70% of all cancers will be diagnosed in those aged 65 years or older . One out of two cancer patients report psychiatric disorders, especially depression. At the same time, depression is a burdensome problem even in elderly people . Thus, depression is highly prevalent both in cancer and in the elderly. Consequently, depression appears to be a relevant problem in people with cancer. The diagnosis of cancer........

Abstract: Oral Verrucous Carcinoma [OVC] is described as a part of the Squamous Cell Carcinoma [SCC] due toits specific properties. Verrucous carcinoma is a form of squamous cell carcinoma with specific clinical, morphologic, and cytokinetic features. The term verrucous carcinoma refers to those exophytic squamous mucosal or cutaneous tumors that are heaped above the epithelial surface with a papillary micronodular appearance. Verrucous carcinoma is distinguished by controversy regarding appropriate diagnosis and treatment. In this paper, 3 cases of verrucous carcinoma of tongue, retromolar trigone region and maxillary vestibular region are reported and a mini review of literature is described..

Abstract: A wound is defined as an injury creating a disruption in the normal anatomical structure and function of the skin. There are two different types of wounds: vulnus that is an acute wound, which heals according to the normal wound healing process, and ulcus that is defined as hard-to-heal wounds (previously labeled chronic wounds) such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcer. These wounds have duration of more than six weeks and often show a disturbed wound healing process due to underlying causes other than direct trauma. MATERIALS AND METHODS This is a prospective study. Source of study were the 40 Cases satisfying the inclusion criteria admitted in KIMS, Hubli during the study period of November 2012 to October 2014. RESULTS 40 patients visiting KIMS.......
